ARTHUR JOHN ENGELHOLM

Arthur John Engelholm, b December 4, 1900 in Kenny, Texas, d March 12, 1983 in Rosebud, Falls County, Texas and buried in the Salem Lutheran Cemetery at Terry's Chapel - was a son of Henry and Ottillie (Fabianke) Engelholm. On November 11, 1931, Arthur John was married to Katherine E. Kasner, b March 1, 1909 - a daughter of Albert Rudolph and Lena M. (Pieper) Kasner.

Arthur and Katherine lived on a farm near Rosebud, Texas just behind the farm on which she had been born. Each of the Kasner children inherited a tract of land from their parents-each with a on the various tracts. In addition to being a farmer and rancher, Arthur also worked in Rosebud as a butcher and store clerk. He enjoyed deer hunting, and reading, as well as playing dominoes and canasta. Katherine helped Arthur in the fields, played the piano, and enjoyed sewing and making quilts. She often had "quilting parties" where several neighbor women would get together, quilt, and visit. Arthur was also on the Board of Directors of the Sneed-Kasner School for several years, and after his health began to fail, he enjoyed "bird watching." They were members of the Salem Lutheran Church, and reared their children in that faith.

Arthur John and Katherine E. (Kasner) Engelholm were the parents of four children:

Roy Lee A. Engelholm, b September 21, 1932 in Rosebud - married July 24, 1954 to Joyce Ann Stephenson.

Elnora I. Engelholm, b April 15, 1937 in Rosebud - married September 3, 1955 to William Ed Swhanke.

Conrad Paul Engelholm, b February 28, 1942 in Rosebud - married first on February 15, 1961 to Margaret Wilson, and married second on November 1, 1963 to Lynnet Welsch.

Vernon Arthur Engelholm, b December 14, 1945 in Rosebud - married February 15, 1969 to Catherine Yezak.
