ALBERT H. EJEM

Albert H. Ejem (called "Pete"), b February 26, 1926 - was a son of Henry Ejem, b July 17, 1884, d September 21, 1967 and buried in St. Mary's Cemetery in Westphalia, Falls County, Texas, and his wife, Francis (Michalka) Ejem, b October 18, 1896, d October 18, 1964 and buried in St. Mary's Cemetery. "Pete" served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was in Italy during his overseas duty. He finished combat duty as a BAR Gunner - receiving a medal in expert marksmanship in automatic rifles, the Bronze Star Citation for service "above and beyond the call of duty," the Combat Infantry Badge, and two Battle Stars.

On September 1, 1973 in Temple, Bell County, Texas, Albert H. Ejem was married to Mrs. Marilyn B. (Kleypas) Lee, b October 11, 1939 - a daughter of Charles Francis and Odelia Mary (Hoelcher) Kleypas, of Falls County. By her first marriage to Raymond

Earl Lee, Marilyn had four children - including a pair of twin daughters:

Jean Mary Lee - a twin, b March 11, 1961- who graduated from the Rosebud-Lott High School, and resides in Williamson County, Texas.

Joan Mae Lee - a twin, b March 11, 1961- graduated from the Rosebud-Lott High School, and resides in Robinson, Texas.

Raymond Earl Lee, Jr., b April 8, 1962 - graduated from the Rosebud-Lott High School, and resides in Falls County, Texas.

Keith Douglas Lee, b June 14, 1963 - graduated from the Rosebud-Lott High School, and resides in Falls County, Texas.

Pete owns a farm which he purchased, and he and Marilyn make their on that land. He has followed agricultural pursuits.

Marilyn attended the Westphalia Public School, and graduated with the Class of 1957 from Lott High School. She won the election for the position of Falls County Treasurer in 1978; however, the former Treasurer retired before her term ended, and Marilyn was appointed June 13, 1978 to finish the unexpired term of her predecessor before beginning her own elected first term in January 1979. She has, in 1986, been reelected for a third continuous term as County Treasurer, to begin in January 1987.

Pete and Marilyn are very active in all the church and community activities of Westphalia, and they also participate in civic and political affairs of Falls County.
