ROBERT EASLEY

Robert Easley, b March 19, 1860 in Greenville, South Carolina, d August 13, 1956 at Rosebud, Falls County, Texas and buried in Woodland Cemetery there -was the fourth child of Major William King and Caroline (Sloan) Easley - natives of South Carolina.

Robert was twelve years old when he lost both parents, and the following year, he and a younger brother, Ogier King Easley, took off for Texas, where their father's brother, Samuel Allen Easley, and his wife who was a sister of their mother, Martha (Sloan) Easley, had immigrated to Williamson County, in 1852. The two brothers grew up in Taylor, Texas, where Robert Easley was married on November 13, 1889 to Mary Susan Tennill. They lived in Taylor until 1910, when Robert and his family moved to Rosebud, Falls County, Texas in 1910 - the same year his brother, Ogier, moved his family there; and they lived in Rosebud the ramainder of their lives.

Robert and Mary Susan (Tennill) Easley were the parents of six children:

Robert King Easley, b May 25, 1890 in Taylor, Texas, d July 27, 1944 - married August 6, 1912 to Mary Ables.

Alice Easley, b June 1892 - married April 17, 1923 to Arthur Cochran of Rosebud, and moved to Houston, Texas.

Elizabeth Easley, b August 21, 1894 - married December 23, 1917 to Luther R. Ables, and moved to Cleveland.

Ogier Easley (called "Ose"), b October 2, 1896 in Taylor, Texas - married November 22, 1922 to Ophelia Hillard of Rosebud, and moved to Temple, Texas.

Mary Susan Easley, b November 19, 1904 - mar ried July 7, 1924 to Roy H. Harris, and moved to California.

John Allen Easley, b September 12, 1906 - married August 1, 1930 to Velma Adamwaite, and moved to Port Arthur, Texas.

Thrace Easley, b August 1, 1908 - married July 19, 1928 to Benjamin A. Scott of Travis, Texas, and resides in Port Arthur, Texas.
