A Word From The Erie County, Ohio Webmaster!

About This Page!

I hope that you find what you are seeking here. As with all pages of this type, this page will be under constant construction. If you need some assistance please leave me a message and I will see what I can do to assist you.

This page is an updated version of what was started sometime in the past by Maggie Stewart Zimmerman. Maggie was host of this page for 20 years---Thank You. Maggie is no longer associated with this page or on the state level, although her name still appears throughout the OHGenweb and USGWarchives.

Please be sure to include Erie County in your communications with me. I take care of more than one county and that makes it easier not only to keep things in the correct place but also to get your family information up on the correct page in a timely manner.

About The USGenWeb Projects!

In March and April, 1996, a group of genealogists organized the Kentucky Comprehensive Genealogy Database Project. The idea was to provide a single entry point for all counties in Kentucky, where collected databases would be stored. In addition, the databases would be indexed and cross-linked, so that even if an individual were found in more than one county, they could be located in the index.

At the same time, volunteers were found who were willing to coordinate the collection of databases and generally oversee the contents of the web page.

In June, as the Kentucky project was nearing completion, it was decided to start a page for each of the remaining states, and as with the Kentucky project, volunteers were found to host the state pages. If the state or county in which you are interested does not have a page and you wish to be responsible for it, or if you would like to contribute your data or help in any way, contact the person responsible for maintaining that state and/or county.
