Doris I. Taylor

November 13, 1932 ~ October 28, 2017

Doris Irene Taylor, 84, beloved daughter, sister, and aunt died peacefully on October 28th, after a brief illness in the care of the staff of Stein Hospice.

She was born on November 13, 1932 in Ontario, Canada and moved to the family farm In Huron, Ohio where she worked and cared for her horses, Babe and April.

Doris graduated from Huron High School in 1950 and spent most of her working years at Enderle's Food Island and The Huron Market. Doris was passionate about bowling with her mother and sister scoring a high game of 268 and her highest three-game total was a 686. She was also a voracious reader and enjoyed travelling the country in the family motor home. She eventually settled with other snowbirds in Florida for the winters. Doris's truest passion; however, was her love for the Cleveland Indians, even naming her cat Grady after center fielder, Grady Sizemore.

She is survived by three sisters, Norma Batch, Marilyn (William) Enderle, Bernice (William) Hamler, a brother, George Edwin (Mary) Taylor, and nieces and nephews who she lovingly adored.

Her parents, George and Evelyn Taylor, preceded Doris in death.

Per her request, a private service and family gathering will take place.

Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, Huron, is in charge of arrangements.
