Participating in religious observances was an important part of our ancestor's lives. From birth, baptism, bar mitzvas, confirmation, marriage, and death, religion played an important role.

Ebenezer was organized in 1882 as a German mission in West Cleveland and was called the Cleveland West Side Mission. In 1946 the Evangelical Association merged with the United Brethren, and Ebenezer became the Ebenezer Evangelical United Brethren Church. It closed in 1966.
