Saturday 17 March 2012 1:00 pm "Sailing Into the Sunset: Tips for Finding Your Ancestors on Passenger Lists" Presented by Elissa Scalise Powell, CG, CGL. This program reviews the history of why passenger lists were recorded in an attempt to understand what types of records exist. Various indices, research aides, examples of records and where to find them will be discussed at Summit County Chapter meeting at Akron-Summit County Library.

Monday 2 April 2012 7 pm. East Cuyahoga County Genealogical Society - 1940s party!! Help us celebrate the release of the 1940 census with the music, history, fashions and food of the time. Wear a vintage outfit if possible. Share stories about the time and bring 1940 census records of your family if you have them. The census is available on this day.
