Monday 7 January 2008 7:30 pm Mr. James Skelly, a member of the Canadian Historical Society and a family Historian will present "Canada's Favorite Winter Sport... Genealogy" at the regular meeting of Cuyahoga Valley Genealogical Society. Mr. Skelly has done extensive research using Canadian and Irish genealogy web sites and has made more than 30 genealogical research trips to Canada. His presentation will show the great amount of genealogical history available to us just across our Northern border.

Sunday 10 February 2008 1:30 pm "How to Research at the County Archives - A Volunteer's Insight" by Don Kozlowski may be heard at the Medina County Chapter OGS. This program describes how to find those elusive records at the Cuyahoga County Archives.

Monday 11 February 2008 7:00 pm "Alternative Internet Search Engines" presented by Sandee Ruth, Computer Specialist for the Lorain Public Library. Sandee will present an overview of a variety of search engines for genealogical research as well as hints to get the most out of Internet searching. This is the regular meeting of Lorain Co. Chapter OGS.

Tuesday 12 February 2008 7:00 pm Geauga County Genealogical Society meets. "Using Timelines to Move Your Research Forward" Speaker will be Sandra Beane.

Friday 15 February 2008 Hudson Genealogy Study Group will hold a Lock In with Gwen Mayer presenting "Great Genealogy Databases."

Saturday 16 February 2008 8:30 am 12th Annual Family History Jamboree sponsored by The Dayton Ohio Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is an all day workshop open to the public. Monday 9 June 2008 6:30 pm Joint Pot Luck Picnic Dinner with the Medina County Genealogical and Historical Societies at Stone Garden Farm, 2891 Southern Road, Richfield, OH. The Museum of Western Reserve of Farms and Equipment, located on a 48-acre farm, is dedicated to preserving the tools, equipment, skills and way of life lived by Ohioans in the 1800's. Jim Fry, farmer, historian and artist, began the museum in 1987 on his family homestead and has since collected 26 buildings including what may be the largest surviving early blacksmith shop in Ohio, the oldest barn in the state, the Stouffer farm (where the mega-corporation began) smoke house and one of the largest surviving post and beam barns in Summit County. Owner Jim Fry states that anyone who wants to come early may look around before we sit down to eat at 6:30 P.M. Guests are always welcome

Tuesday 10 June 2008 7:00 pm "Walking the Walk" Local dowsing expert Jeff Lamphear will speak and later demonstrate this ancient art, also called "water witching." This is the regular meeting of Geauga County Genealogical Society, Chardon Public Library, 110 E. Park St., Chardon Ohio.
