Researching these people in Carroll and Harrison Counties:
Jason R. KAIL (1850-1920) m. Anna Florence BAKER (1860-1910) in 1876. Jason was s/o John KAIL (1815-1895) m. Mary Ann TOPE (1817-1878) in 1840. John KAIL was s/o ? But I am trying to figure this out and suspect his parents were another John KAIL (b. 1775) who married a Sally ARNOLD. This John's father was another John KAIL (1756-1841) who married a Catharine ROUCH. So any John KAIL you find could be important to my search.
Mary Ann TOPE was d/o Jacob TOPE (1791-1855) and (I think) Sarah/Sally EVERHART (1793-?) m. 1812. My Anna F. BAKER was d/o Abraham BAKER (1831-1909) m. Caroline WATT (1838-1908) in 1856. Abraham BAKER was s/o Iven/Evan BAKER (1800-1886) m. Belinda/Melinda COX (1804-1879) in 1824. Iven/Evan was s/o (I think) Zachariah BAKER (1770-1841) m. Susanna WASHBURN (1772-1818) in 1795. Caroline WATT was d/o John WATT (1801-1884) m. Martha AMOS (1808-1891) in 1828.
Any information would be helpful. I'm also searching for info. on a Reverand Sheridan BAKER (1824-1890) who married an Eliza Jane RUTAN in 1849. I suspect he, too, is s/o my Iven BAKER and Belinda COX. He seemed to have been quite well known in his day.

I am researching the Family of Joseph ARBUCKLE b. about 1750 and his wife Sarah (maiden name unknown) b. about 1765 in MD d.1834 Jackson or Cambridge, Guernsey Co.,OH. It looks as if they had all their children in PA. At the time of his death in 1808 Mifflin, Allegheny Co., PA, he had property in BeaverTown and on waters of Slippery Rock Creek. This was in his will. Also in his will was that his 2 youngest children Leah and James were to be bound out. This was carried out through the Orphan's Court in 1810. Joseph and Sarah had the following children: Rebecca (m. Lt. John McMILLAN) Alexander (m. Matilda SIGMAN/SICKMAN) Isaac (m.Jane REED) Margaret (m. Luke SIGMAN) James W.(m1. Isabelle HENRY m2. Jane MONTGOMERY?)He has been seen in Coshocton Co.,OH and is buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Guernsey Co., OH Leah (m. Isaac BOOTH) lived in Carroll Co.,OH and buried in Tuscawaras Co.,OH, John (m. Mary ARTHUR) died Jefferson Twp.? 1805, William, Robert, Samuel, Esebella (sp) (m. ?MOOR/MOORE) and Mary (m. ? Williams). Also possibly had 2 other daughters and 2 other sons, names unknown. Alexander had children in PA, and went on to Parkersburg, Wood Co.,VA buried there with wife Matilda. His daughter Matilda ARBUCKLE was married to George LOCKER in Washington Co.,OH and lived in Parkersburg WV area until she was killed by her husband. It is believed that she had 2 daughters. Joseph's wife Sarah d.1834 went to Guernsey Co.,OH along with some of children, others remained in PA or went west. Rebecca d.1852 and Lt. John McMILLAN d. 1857 both buried in Salem Cemetery. I believe this Joseph to be part of the family from Accomack, possibly one of the eldest sons who went to PA. I would love and welcome any and all info regarding any of these family members, and especially parents and sibs of Joseph, or maiden name of Sarah. Arbuckle Trivia: Joseph was under name Arbunkle under Maryland Muster Rolls in Rev War and in Accomack, VA. Affiliation in Accomack was Episcopalian, probably became Presbyterian or Methodist. Had 13 chldren, can supply names of 9. Lawyer on his will was Samuel ARBUCKLE, William WILSON was executor. Wife listed as Sarah (no maiden name found) had possible first wife named Priscilla. Had property 1 lott in Beavertown and 1/2 lott on waters of Slippery Rock Creek. I am from son Alexander. Allied names include Davis, Fletcher, Orr, Rolston, Martin, Harper, McMillan, Moore/Moor, Sickman/Sigman, Booth/Boothe, Borte/Bartin/Barton, Beyers/Byers, Williams, Reed, Henry, Torrence, Norfolk, Arthur and John Findley Esq. (2 youngest children Leah and James bound out to him per Orphans Court). Son John m.to Mary Arthur d. 1805 had land in Nottingham Twp. on Peters Creek. I'm looking for information about John Dennis, such as a will or deed. He was supposedly from PA and went to Columbiana around 1800 and died there between 1813-1817, but they have no records. They suggested he may be from Carroll Co. due to other information we have on the Dennis family. We know that his son, James died there and hope you can help. This is a descendant of Marie Elisabeth Giesi/Gysi and I thought your name may be a variant of that name. Regards.
