I am researching the ancestors of Elizabeth Marie FORBES who died several years ago in Leesville OH. Her parents were Frank MORRISON FORBES & Pearl Beatrice PRICE. On the PRICE side, I have information as far back as the 1600s in England. However, I need information on the FORBES. Frank MORRISON FORBES lived in the house at what is now known as FORBES' Corner in New Hagerstown. His parents were John C. FORBES and Nannie F. MORRISON. John C. FORBES had a biography in Beers Commemorative. I have no information on the family of Nannie MORRISON. She died in her late 20s from complications of anemia. John remarried. Nannie's parents would have been born c1810. There are two gravestones in the New Hagerstown Cemetery, one is that of an Andrew MORRISON, the other of Alexander MORRISON. The New Hagerstown Cemetery is directly behind the FORBES house. Does anyone have any information on either of these families? John C. FORBES' parents were James FORBES and Elizabeth JOHNSTON, who are buried in New Philadelphia. James was born in Ireland. I believe his parents came to America, but I have no information on them. Elizabeth JOHNSTON was born in PA. There are also many JOHNSTONs buried behind the FORBES house. Does anyone know where in Pennsylvania this family was from? I tried Washington County & came up short. Any help is greatly appreciated, as I live in New Jersey & it is hard for me to come to Carroll Co. to do research.

Looking for any information concering SEMPLE, Robert, b.1758 and d. 4 Dec. 1831. Robert was the Father of Samuel SEMPLE who came with his wife Jane (CRAWFORD) SEMPLE and his father Robert from Tyrone Ireland in 1812 and settled in Leavittsville, Ohio, obtaining land for being in the War of 1812 (Dupont Sharpshooter). I believe Robert is buried at Leavittsville, Cemetery, but he is not listed in the Carroll Co. Cemetery book. It could be his stone was destroyed or unreadable. The other possibility is that he could be buried somewhere on the Old Semple Farm. I'm assuming he lived with Samuel and his wife. Does anyone have a census book for 1830 which might have this information? I do know that Samuel was a postman, but do not know anything more about Robert, his father. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Running into dead ends in Tyrone Ireland also. No luck so far trying to track down who Samuel's mother was or if he had any brothers.
