Ellen Margaret Harris

Hello, I am Anita Schultz-Peters. My grandmother "Ellen Harris" lived in Mound House Nevada in the early 1900s. I have her scrap book that includes pictures of her graduating class in 1919 along with pictures of people and homes. I'm more than willing to share these with you.

Images were all taken by Ellen Harris.  Her granddaughter Anita Schultz shared them with us.

These photos were all taken by my Grandmother. Her maiden name was Ellen Margaret Harrris. She was born in Springfield, Ohio in 1904. By 1910 she was in Mound House, Nevada with her mother and stepfather Paul and Lizzie Jones. I would say most of them dated around 1916 to 1920. The only dates she has on any of them is the snow in the winter of 1916 and by 1920 she was studying to be a nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital in San Francisco.

The boy in the first 2 photos in overall is identified as Alvin Dodson.

The last just says a boy holding Foutsie which was her dog. Obviously, the dog was the intended photo.

It would also be great to know if anyone can tell more about the people in these photos

This photo is of Carson Public School, 1918. Not certain of the location. Ellen Harris is in the second row on the right with an X on her head.

Dog named Clinches at the Bull's house.

First on is Foutsie the dog, then a dog named Judy and then a dog named Patsy the fourth is Doris Dodson with Patsy. Apparently my Grandmother loved dogs. But the scenery in the background is from Mound House.

The first on is my grandmother Ellen with her sister Pauline Jones sitting on her lap at their house in Mound House. The second one is of her sister Pauline, left and my grandmother in the Truckee River. The next on is my grandmother in back (with the signature X on her forehead) Isreal in the sailor shirt, her sister Pauline holding her prize chicken and John. No last names for the boys. The last one is Ellen in the dark dress, Pauline and Tony Belmont.

Hotel at Meyers Station 1916   Jabes Sister  1916

The first one is Harry Kruger with a dog, the second one is only identified as Hilda, the third is Meyers Station in the winter of 1916, and the fourth is identified as Jabes Sister, not certain where that is but again from 1916

Meyers Station

Mount Patterson

The first on is identified as Lauodk house. (Looks the same as the house with the children and the chicken to me). Second on is Louis Murphy, third one is Meyers Station again, and fourth is identified as Mount Patterson.

The first one is Mrs. Hadjuk, the second Mrs. Sullivan, the third Oscar Price and the last is my grandmother's back yard in 1921

  Pyramid Peak

The first is her sister, Pauline Jones 1921, the second Phillips Station, the third is their prize chickens and the fourth is Pyramid Peak.

The first is of the V & T Railroad. My grandma told me she rode it every day to school. The second is of W. J. Circe. He worked in the telegraph office.

Derailment of the V & T Railroad. Ellen Harris rode this train on a regular basis as a child
