The parishes that have an ethnic designation after their name are national parishes, which must be distinguished from territorial parishes. Territorial parishes serve people in a given territory. National parishes serve people of a particular tongue, no matter where they live.

Where possible, I have indicated the name of the parish from which the given parish was formed from. I have also indicated which parishes have closed, and where the records of those parishes will be found. SHU indicates that the records are housed in the Archdiocesan archives at Seton Hall University.

The founding dates are not necessarily the dates when the records begin.

Some of the records were microfilmed by the LDS, and copies of the film are available through their branches and at Special Collections, Seton Hall University. I will provide a list of these soon.
