KLAVE--Infant Rites - Graveside funeral services for Jody Rae Klave, daughter of Michael and Patricia (Cech) Klave, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Bonaventure Cemetery with Rev. Basil Taung officiating. Jody was stillborn Friday at the University of Nebraska Hospital in Omaha. Also surviving are the grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Engelbart Cech of Columbus and Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Klave of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa. McKown Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

BISSON--C.J. Bisson, 91, to be buried Friday
    A retired farmer and lifetime resident of this community, C.J. Bisson, 1803 Sixth Street, died Tuesday afternoon in St. Mary Hospital. He was 91.
    Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. H.M. Rathkamp in charge. Burial will be in Columbus Cemetery.
    The body will lie in state at Gass-Haney Funeral Chapel from 1 p.m. Thursday until noon Friday, then at church from 1 to 2 p.m.
    Son of the late Evan R. and Sarah Mudget Bisson, he was born April 24, 1880 in Platte County, 10 miles north of Columbus, and was educated in the county schools.
    On March 20, 1902 he married Alma E. Lueschen at St. Paul Lutheran Church, southwest of Leigh. She died July 31, 1959.
    Surviving are four chidren, Earl of Platte Center; Clarence, Mrs. Louis (Iona) Wollberg and Mrs. Victor (Inez) Lassek, all of Columbus; 11 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by a son, Oliver; three grandchildren; three brothers, Sylvester of Sioux Fall, S.D., Jess and Levi; three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Camp, Mrs. Lenora Schmidt, Emma Bisson, and a half-sister, Mrs. Clara Newman, all of Columbus.
    The family suggests memorials to Trinity Lutheran Memorial Fund. Mr. Bisson was a member of that church.

BULLINGTON--Saturday rites set for Frank Bullington
    Frank P. Bullington, 80, of 2012 Eighth Street, died early this morning in St. Mary Hospital after a lingering illness.
    Funeral rites will be conducted by Rev. John McGee at 2 p.m. Saturday at Gass-Haney Funeral Chapel, with burial in Columbus Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the chapel after 4 p.m. today.
    A former insurance salesman in Kansas City, Mo., Mr. Bullington was born July 5, 1891 at Dexter, Kan., and received his education in Kansas. His parents were the late Levi nd Elizabeth Smith Bullington.
    On June 2, 1915 he married Martha Gass in Columbus, and they lived in Kansas City until moving here 10 years ago.
    Surviving are his wife; three children, Mrs. Harold (Elizabeth) Abildgaard of Wichita, Kan., Mrs. Bruce (Martha) Edge of Las Vegas, Nev., and Jack of Columbus; one sister, Mrs. Nettie Shirley of Houston, Tex.; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
    An infant son, Frank Jr., daughter, Kathleen, and brother, Charles, preceded him in death.
    The family suggests memorials to the heart fund.

BURGESS--Funeral services Thursday for Walter Burgess, former city clerk
    Funeral services for Walter M. Burgess, 93, former city clerk, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church with Rev. J. Graydon Wilson officiating, and burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Cemetery.
    Masonic graveside rites are planned for the 70-year Mason. His body lies in state at Gass-Haney Funeral Chapel, and will also lie in state at church, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
    Mr. Burgess, who served as city clerk from 1954 to 1959, died Monday in Behlen Memorial Hospital. He had also been manager of a grain business and merchandise store in Richland and Columbus.
    Born Sept. 18, 1878 in Forest, Ill., to Myron and Nolia Borden Burgess, he attended Adams County Schools and Hastings College in Nebraska.
    He married Luella Myers on March 12, 1902 at Smith Center, Kan. After operating flour mills at Lincoln and Valparaiso, he farmed near Lawrence, Trumbull and Fairfield, moving to Columbus in 1919. He was Clay County president of Farmers Union and Farm Bureau.
    Mr. Burgess served as state president of Farmers Union Co-operative Elevator Federation, a statewide grain company; was exectuive secretary of the OPA office during World War II; and served on the board of directors of KRUN radio station at Lexington.
    He becmae a member of the Hastings Masonic Lodge No. 50 in 1901; attained 32nd degree statue [sic] in 1920 and became a Shrine member of Tehama Temple about the same time. Lebanon Lodge No. 323 of Columbus honored him on his 50th, 60th and 70th anniversaries. In 1964 he was presented the Jordan Medal. He held his Blue Lodge membership in Columbus, Scottish Rite and Shrine membership in Hastings.
    A former church officer, Mr. Burgess served 30 years as treasurer and financial secretary of the Methodist

    Church and was later named an honorary member of the church board.
    He and his wife sang in the choir for many years and he also sang with a quartet. As a teenager, Walter rode 15 miles by horse and cart twice a week to practice with the Hastings Methodist choir.
    His wife died in 1961. Surviving are six childre, Mrs. Marian Sidwell of Elwood; Mrs. Nolia Putnam of Phoenix; Mrs. Ferd (Lucile) Brodfuehrer and Clarke Burgess of Columbus; Richard of 29 Palms, Calif.; W. Mason of Seattle; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
    His only sister was the late Mrs. Carl (Ellen) Jones.
    The family suggests memorials to the United Methodist Church.

GILMORE--Anna Gilmore rites set here Friday
    Funeral services for Mrs. Frank (Anna) Gilmore, 1869 39th Avenue, are set for 2 p.m. Friday at Grace Episcopal Church with Rev. Robert Ahlenius officiating.
    She died Tuesday in St. Mary Hospital at the age of 94. Her body will lie in state at Gass-Haney Funeral Home after 1 p.m. Thursday, and burial will be in the Columbus Cemetery.
    Mrs. Gilmore was born Oct. 10, 1877 at Milton, Ky., the eldest of five children of John Henry and Eliza McIntire Mars.
    She came with her parents to Platte Center at the age of four. Her father died when she was eight and two years later she went to live with the J. R. Smith family near Monroe.
    She married Frank A. Gilmore at the Smith home on Nov. 14, 1906. They lived in Platte County until moving to Lincoln in 1936. He died Dec. 4, 1951.
    Mrs. Gilmore was a former Platte County teacher and had also worked in the Mansfield and Smith General Store in Monroe.
    Baptized and confirmed in Grace Episcopal Church here, she was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Lincoln.
    During the last year Mrs. Gilmore made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Louis (Hazel) Martys in Columbus. Other children surviving are Marlow M. of Omaha, Frank Jr. of Almena, Kan. and Mrs. George (Helen) Brannen of Lincoln.
    Also surviving are 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a half-brother, Robert H. Jacobsen and half-sister, Mrs. Maude Anderson, both of Omaha; sister-in-law, Mrs. Ethel Bardin of Fremont and Mrs. Carrie Woods of Kansas City.

KELLY--Saturday funeral rites for Mrs. Edd Kelly
    Mrs. Edd (Maude) Kelly, 81 of 2219 Street [sic], died Wednesday in St. Mary Hospital. She was a lifetime resident of the Monroe and Columbus communities.
    Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Federated Church with Rev. Russell Croker officiating, and burial will be in Okay Cemetery at Monroe. Her body will lie in state at Gass-Haney Funeral Chapel, 1 p.m. Friday until noon Saturday then at church from 1 to 2 p.m.
    Mrs. Kelley [sic] was born July 5, 1890 north of Monroe, and attended schools at Wattsville, Monroe and Columbus. Her parents were Hugh and Addie Leggett Hill.
    On Oct. 2, 1912 she married Edd Kelly at the Union Church, Monroe, and he survives. Also surviving are two children, Mrs. Frederick (Gwen) Harris and Hadley Kelly, both of Columbus; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
    Two sisters and five brothers preceded her in death: Mrs. Oscar (Sarah) Crawford, Delta, Utah; Thomas Hill, Lafayette, Colo.; Fred, Sommers, Iowa; Mrs. Harlan (Ida) Morrow, Louis, Harry and Edward, all of Monroe.
    Mrs. Kelly was active in Federated Church and Women's Fellowship. Memorials may be directed to the church or to Childrens Memorial Hospital, Omaha.

BRAUN--Mrs. Gideon Braun funeral Wednesday
    Funeral services for Mrs. Gideon (Bertha) Braun, 85, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Luke United Church of Christ with Rev. John McGee officiating. Burial will be in Columbus Cemetery.
    A prayer service is set for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Gass-Haney Funeral Home where the body lies in state.
    The daughter of Jacob and Anna Urech Glur, she was born Aug. 15, 1886 in Columbus and was graduated from the Columbus public schools in 1909. After teaching rural school three years, she completed her education at Kearney State College, graduating in 1914, then taught conversational German in the grade school for two years.
    In 1916 she married Gideon Braun of the Gruetli community. They made their home on a farm east of Columbus until 1942, when they retired to 1052 21st Avenue. After Mr. Braun's death in 1965 she continued to reside in Columbus until 1969, when she moved to the home of her daughter in Papillion.
    In failing health the last six months, she died Monday at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha.
    Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. John (Helen) Schack of Papillion; two grandchildren, Gregory, John and S_____.

BOSS--Thursday rites set for Louis Boss Sr.
    Louis Boss Sr., 83, a retired farmer residing at Columbus Manor, died Monday in Behlen Memorial Hospital.
    Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at McKown Funeral Home and Gruetli Cemetery, with Rev. John McGee in charge. The body will lie in state at the funeral chapel after 1 p.m. Wednesday.
    Son of the late Christian and Emilia Gisin Boss, he was born Jan. 26, 1889 in Platte County and attended District 73 School.
    Moving from Platte County to a farm east of Silver Creek in 1921, he served as director of Merrick County School District 10 for several years. He was a former deacon of the Gruetli German Reformed Church.
    Mr. Boss married Rose Kummer on Sept. 14, 1910. She died June 9, 1933.
    Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Nick (Lottie) Blaser of Duncan; two sons, Louis Jr. of Columbus and Richard of Duncan; three brothers, Chris and Fred of the Columbus Manor and Carl Boss; four grandchildren and four great-grandsons.
    In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lilly; sisters, Mrs. Paul (Bertha) Blaser and Mrs. Mike (Lena) Blaser; one grandson; one half-brother, John Boss.
    Memorials may be directed to the Columbus Opportunity Center (Day Care).

BRANDT--W. Brandt funeral set for Saturday
    William F. Brandt St., 75, of 1219 Fourth Street, died Wednesday at St. Francis Hospital, Grand Island.
    Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church with burial in Roselawn Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. A.H. Guettler will officiate.
    A prayer service will be held at 1:30 p.m Saturday at McKown Funeral Chapel where the body will lie in state after 1 p.m. Friday.
    Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brandt, he was born April 10, 1896 at Stover, Mo., and was a World War I veteran, having served in France.
    He married Edna R. Kruz, Sept. 4, 1921, at Scribner where they lived before moving to Columbus. His wife, five sons and brother preceded him in death.
    Ten sons and daughters survive; Mrs. Alex (Darlene) Perow of Baltimore, Md.; Arlene Geiser, Mrs. Frank (LaVera) Geiser and Donald, all of Beaumont, Calif.; Arlen of Topeka, Kan.; William Jr. and Burdette of Columbus; Darwin of Humphrey; Alvern of Denver; Edward of Wood River.
    Also surviving are two sisters, Amelia Miller of Fremont; Ella Kurz of Kearney; 31 grandhchildren and one great-grandchild.

KOENIG--Friday rites set for John Koenig
    John E. Koenig, 74, of 3081 (?) 20th Street, died Tuesday at the Veterans Hospital in Grand Island. He had been ill since January.
    Scripture service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at McKown Funeral Home where the body will lie in state, and a 10 a.m. Friday service will be conducted by Rev. Regis Watts at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. Memorial Mass at church will be 9 a.m. Monday.
    An Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Koenig will be buried with military honors in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
    He was born April 12, 1897 in Polk County to Joseph and Theresa Koenig. For the past several years he resided with his sister, Rose M. Koenig, who is his only immediate survivor.
    He was a member of St. Bonaventure Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
    Preceding him in death were his parents; five sisters, Minnie Elledge, Lucy Klenke, Anna Ernst, Clara Halverson, Mary Waldman; three brothers, Herman, Joe and Otto Koenig.

JACKSON--Frederick Jackson funeral Thursday
    Services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at McKown Funeral Chapel for Frederick James Jackson, 82, who died Tuesday at home, 1403 12th Street. He had been ill about five years.
    The Rev. C. William Shaffer will officiate, with burial in Roselawn Cemtery [sic]. The body lies in state at the funeral home.
    Son of the late James and Emma (Swanie) Jackson, he was born July 14, 1889 at Franklin and received his education at Kearney.
    He married Ida Ethel Strickler at Minden on July 19, 1911, and they lived at Wilcox before moving to Columbus in 1923. Formerly in the battery and electric business, he farmed in later years.
    In Columbus he attended Highland Park Evangelical Free Church. He was a former volunteer fireman.
    Surviving are his wife and seven children, Mrs. Ray (Larean) Schroeder of Muskegon, Mich.; Cecil J. of Hastings; Ellis B. of Fontana, Calif.; Lawrence H. of Tacoma, Wash.; Mrs. Elmer (Mary) Garbers, Mrs. Arthur (Phyllis) Abegglen and Mrs. Anthony (Zathea) Hilger, all of Columbus.
    Also surviving are a brother, Arthur of North Platte; 25 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
    Five brothers, three sisters, two granddaughters and two great-grandchildren preceded him in death.

KRZYCKI--Daniel Krzycki dies here today; rites Wednesday
    Daniel H. Krzycki, 44, of 754 24th Avenue, died this morning at Behlen Memorial Hospital. He had been in poor health the past year.
    Fr. Armand Lubanski will officiate at funeral rites, 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony Church. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. The body is to lie in state after 1 p.m. Tuesday at McKown Funeral Home, where rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Tuesday by the Knights of Columbus, 7:30 by the Holy Name Society, and 8 o'clock by the parish.
    He was born Nov. 3, 1930 at Silver Creek, the son of Charles W. and Clara Torczon Krzycki. He attended St. Anthony School and Columbus High. Mr. Krzycki was married to Kathryn Prososki May 20, 1952 at Sts. Peter and Paul Church at Krakow.
    He was a retail route man for Roberts Dairy. In the armed forces from January 1952, to October, 1955, he spent 14 months in Korea.
    A member of St. Anthony parish he was affiliated with the Knights of Columbus, Holy Name and Columbus Cavaliers.
    Mr. Krzycki is survived by his wife; daughter, Carol Jean; father, Charles W. of Columbus; sisters, Mrs. Richard (Eugenia) Korger, Columbus, and Mrs. Jim (Anna Marie) Schacher of Battle Creek; brothers, Stanley Krzycki of Aurora and Francis of Columbus; 24 nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his mother, and brothers, Paschal, Adrian and Arnold.

JELDEN--Mrs. Jelden dies, funeral Tuesday
    Mrs. Vera C. Jelden, 80, died Saturday at Behlen Memorial Hospital.
    Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with Rev. D. Lee Gace officiatng. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Cemetery.
    Her body will lie in state from 7-9:30 p.m. tonight, 8 a.m.-noon Tuesday at Gass Haney Funeral Home and 1-2 p.m. at the church.
    She was born Jan. 22, 1892, in Wimont, Kan., to John R. and Mary H. Cates. She held a bachelor's degree in home economics from Kansas State and a master's degree in the same field from Kansas University. She taught home economics at Osceola and Rising City schools.
    She married Dr. Edward John Jelden in Kansas. In 1930 the couple moved to Columbus. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, former Sunday school teacher and member of the woman's group.
    Survivors include sons, Charles Edward of Eureka, Utah, David Lawrence of Greeley, Colo., and James Robert of Columbus; sister, Mrs. Harriet Price of Eaburg, Ore.
    Her husband died in 1962.

BURKE--Loretta Burke, 86, dies today; rites Monday
    Mrs. Loretta Burke, 86, a former bookkeeper for the Columbus Telegram for 34 years, died Thursday in Columbus Manor after a lingering illness.
    Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew Menges officiating, and burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
    Her body will lie in state after 1 p.m. Sunday at McKown Funeral Home, where Scripture service is set for 7:30 p.m. Sunday and CDA rosary at 8 p.m.
    A lifetime resident of Platte County, she was born Dec. 15, 1885 to John and Margaret Finnegan Conley. She attended St. Francis Academy in Columbus and married Mark Burke on Nov. 16, 1915 at St. Bernard Catholic Church near Lindsay. They made their home in Columbus.
    Mrs. Burke was a member of St. Bonaventure Church, St. Anne Society and Legion of Mary. A charter member of Court Little Flower, Catholic Daughters of America she was a past grand regent and past state officer.
    She also served as secretary of the library board and had been a member of the Business Women's Club.
    Her husband died Oct. 21, 1949, and her brother, Rev. Fr. Leander Conley, also preceded her in death.
    Surviving are a stepson, Mark Burke of Omaha; sister, Mrs. Frank Morgan of Columbus; nephews and nieces, Bill Morgan of Shelby, Les Morgan of California, Frank Morgan of Fullerton, Mrs. Darrell Bermel of Omaha, Lee Morgan, Mrs. Phil Sliva and Mrs. Loretta Hilger of Columbus; two step-grandchildren.

BEHRENS--Final rites Monday for Amalie Behrens
    Monday funeral rites will be held for Mrs. Ida Amalie Behrens, 94, who died Friday at home, 2621 20th Street.
    Services will be 1:15 p.m. at Gass-Haney Funeral Chapel and 2 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church and Cemetery.
    Officiating will be Pastor Martin Bornemann and a grandson, Rev. Harlan Harnapp of North Platte. The body will lie in state at the funeral home after 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
    Born Jan. 1, 1878 in Germany, Mrs. Behrens had resided in the Columbus area since she was a year old. Her parents were William and Christina Barner Korte.
    She attended Colfax County schools and during the blizzard of 1880 spent the night in school. She was confirmed in 1892 at the Lutheran Church on Shell Creek by Rev. G. Mueller.
    On Feb. 26, 1897 she married Johannes Behrens at Christ Lutheran Church, the Rev. A.W. Frese officiating. She was a longtime member of Christ Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid.
    Mrs. Behrens is survived by six children; Mrs. Oscar (Ida) Harnapp of Kearney, Mrs. Carl (Emma) Cattau, Mrs. Carl (Louise) Schmidt, Adolph, Martha and Anna Berends, all of Columbus.
    Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Caroline Loseke and Mrs. Adolph Hoge of Columbus; 18 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her hsuband, July 17, 1946; daughter, Mrs. Rudolf (Clara) Cattau; one grandson; two great-grandsons; two brothers, Adolph and Carl Korte; four sisters, Mrs. Minnie Hunteman, Mrs. Mathilda Plugge, Mrs. Lilie Loseke and Rose Korte.
    Norman Korte will be in charge of memorials at church.

KELLMAN--Mrs. Bruno Kellman dies; rites Thursday
    Mrs. Bruno (Katherine) Kellman, 65, of 1204 11th Street, died this morning in St. Mary Hospital after a short illness.
    Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Bonaventure Catholic church with burial in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Regis Watts.
    Scripture service is set for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at McKown Funeral Home where the body will lie in state after __ p.m. that day.
    Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Kamin, she was born April 4, 1907 at Blue Hill where she received her education.
    On May 27, 1936 she married Bruno Kellman at St. Bernard Church, Lindsay and they have since lived in the Columbus area.
    She was a member of St. Bonaventure church, Christian Mothers, Franciscan Missionary Union and Legion of Mary. She was a former secretary of St. Anne Society.
    Surviving are her husband; daughter, Mrs. Bob (Rose Marie) Jackson of Kansas City; four sisters, Mrs. Albert (Anna) Eisenmann of Creston, Mrs. R.C. (Frances) Sawyer of St. Edward, Mrs. Kenneth (Elizabeth) Cubbison of San Antonio, Tex., Mrs. Herman (Ursula) Wennekamp of Columbus; one brother, Leo G. Kamin of San Diego.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mrs. Fred (Mary) Marx; brother, William P. Kamin and another brother named William, who died in infancy.

KOZIOL--Joseph Koziol, 84, dies Tuesday; rites here on Saturday
    Joseph F. Koziol, 84, Coumbus, died Tuesday at the Grand Island Veterans Home after a short illness.
    The Rev. Armand Lubanski will officiate at funeral services, 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony Church. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. The body is to lie in state after 1 p.m. Friday at McKown Funeral Home, where rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
    He was born Jan. 14, 1888, in Krakow, Poland, the son of John and Mary Koziol and married Clara Krzycki at Sts. Peter and Paul Church at Krakow, Neb. A retired Union Pacific Railroad employee, he had previously farmed in the Columbus area.
    Mr. Koziol was a veteran of World War I, and had been a member of the American Legion. There will be military graveside services.
    He was affiliated with St. Anthony Church.
    He is survived by two sons, Albin A. Koziol of San Diego, Calif., and Bennie J. of Columbus; two daughters, Sister M. Marcella (Lillian) of Gallup, N.M. and Mrs. Albin (Evelyn) Bosak of Genoa; one stepson, Leonard Krzycki of Grand Island; 12 grandchildren; two brothers and a sister in Poland.
    Mr. Koziol was preceded in death by his wife; son, Alfred; two children in infancy and his parents.

    Funeral services for William Blemmel, 69, Wagner Lakes, will be 2 p.m. Monday at McKown Funeral Chapel with Rev. L.E. Mortensen officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
    Mr. Blemmel died Friday in Behlen Memorial Hospital after a month's illness. His body will lie in state at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Sunday.
    Son of the late Louis and Louise Cook Blemmel, he was born Aug. 21, 1902 at Chandler, Okla.
    In 1925 he moved to the Platte Center area, where he farmed for many years. In 1960 he moved to Columbus and worked for M.H. Van Berg and the city park department until retiring.
    Surviving are two brothers and two sisters, Fred of Wagner Lakes; Mrs. Gottlieb (Emma) Kuhn of Platte Center; Charlie of Oklahoma City; Mrs. Maggie Schutte of Monroe. One brother and one sister are deceased.

BROCK--Mrs. Hilda Brock dies here Sunday, service Wednesday
    Mrs. Hilda I. Brock, 70, of 147 Center Road, Heritage House, died Sunday at St. Mary hospital after a two-week illness.
    The Rev. John McGee will officiate at funeral services, 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at McKown Funeral Chapel, and burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The body is to lie in state after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
    She was born Feb. 19, 1902, at Bancroft, the daughter of William J. and Christina Magaratha Dau Gatzemeyer, and was graduated from Columbus high School in 1919.
    On April 14, 1920, she was married to J. Julius Brock in Columbus. They resided here until 1940, then made their home in Compton, Calif., until returning here in 1960.
    Mrs. Brock had been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and was a past member of the Rebekah Lodge and Columbus Izaak Walton Auxiliary.
    Four daughters survive: Mrs. Lee (Bernice) Hegi of Columbus, Prof. Eugenie Crawford of Albuquerque, N.M., Mrs. E.B. (Lois) Stephens of Sebastopol, Calif., and Mrs. K.L. (Betty) Bannister of Ingelwood, Calif.
    Also surviving are grandchildren, Richard, Duncan, and Robert and Nancy Hegi, Columbus, Dr. Roger Crawford of Daly City, Calif., Mrs. Ronald Landy or Albuquerque, N.M., James _. Bannister of ____

KAUS--Accident victim's funeral on Friday
    Funeral services for Laurence (Larry) Leo Kaus, 19, will be 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church and Cemetery.
    Young Kaus died at 1:40 a.m. today, of injuries sustained an hour and a half earlier in a traffic accident at 17th Street and 23rd Avenue.
    Officiating at the funeral services will be Rev. Charles Potocki. The body will lie in state after 1 p.m. Thursday at McKown Funeral Home where Scripture Service is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. there.
    Born March 25, 1953, at Newman Grove to Leo and the late Helen Cremers Kaus, he attended Scotus High School and Platte College. He also worked for Eller Heating and Air Conditioning.
    During his high school career he participated in Junior Achievement and served as vice president of his senior class. He also participated in football and track.
    Survivors include his father; sisters, Sister Joanne Kaus of Chicago, Mrs. Jerry (Elaine) Gard of Milwaukee, Mrs. Francis (Donna) Slusarski, Mrs. Joseph R. (Marilyn) Jarecki, Sister Nancy Kaus of Kaukauka, Wis., and Judy Kaus.
    Preceding him in death were his mother, killed in a traffic accident near Silver Creek in 1966; paternal grandparents, Henry and Helen Kaus; maternal grandparents, Theodore and Catherine Cremers.

BACHMAN--Mrs. Bachman funeral held in Hastings
    Former Columbus resident Mrs. Simon H. (Mamie) Bachman died in Hastings May 10. Death resulted from a cerebral hemorrhage. Services were at All Saints Chapel, Good Samaritan Village, Hastings; interment at Blue Valley Cemetery, Ayr.
    She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. C.A. Cromer of Lincoln.

    Widow of Everett Biggs, who died in 1949, she moved to Kirland in 1963. They were married Sept. 28, 1906 in Schuyler and lived there and at Staplehurst for a few years before coming to Columbus.
    She was born March 11, 1885 at Staplehurst to Daniel and Sarah Randall Crouse. In Columbus she was a member of the Methodist Church and Harmony Chapter 13, OES, serving as worthy matron and district supervisor.
    Surviving are one son, Fred W.; granddaughter, Mrs. Robert (Joann) Acton; and two great-grandsons, all of Kirkland. Eight brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

    A former machine operator for Columbus Hydaulic, he was born Aug 7, 1905 at Silver Creek. His parents were the late Martin and Anna Kresha Karges.
    On July 19, 1947 in Kansas, he married Maxine L. Brewer, who survives. Also surviving are two children, Daniel and Marsha, at home; brothers, Joe of Columbus, Martin and John of Silver Creek; sisters Anna Serio and Marie Geiger of Milwaukee, Wis.
    An infant son; brother, Frank; and sister, Margaret preceded him in death.
    Pallbearers will be Harold Bernt, Bob Slates, Vincent Galley, Wallace Nyffeler, Wallace Gustafson and Edward Stopak.

    Mr. Benning, 72, died Tuesday in Behlen Hospital after a brief illnenss. He spent his lifetime on a farm north of Columbus where he was born Oct. 28, 1899. His parents were the late Gustav and Agnes Runge Benning.
    Baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, he served on the church council and was presently treasurer of the Lutheran Churchmen, of which he was a charter member. He was a former director of Consumers Co-op and former treasurer of School District 44, which he attended in his youth.
    On June 1, 1926 at Schuyler he married Hilda Schroeder, who died Oct. 27, 1967. A daughter, Joyce, one infant daughter and a grondson, Joel Kummer, also preceded him in death.
    Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Esther) Kummer of Columbus, Mrs. Don (Delores) Hoessel of Leigh; seven grandchildren; one brother, Gustave, two sister[s], Mrs. Ernest (Lillie) Schroeder and Mrs. Walter (Frieda) Aerni, all of Columbus.

BAKER - Last rites for Benjamin J. Baker, 93, were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Assembly of God Church in Columbus.

    Mr. Baker died July 7 at a Good Samaritan Hospial in Phoenix, Ariz.
    He was born Feb. 23, 1897, in Platte County, and was married to Maude Isabel Pollard Oct. 7, 1903. They resided on a farm in the Okay community until moving to Monroe in 1934. They went to Phoenix in 1963.
    Mr. Baker, who retired as custodian of the Monroe school in 1958, was a charter member of the Assembly of God Church, Columbus.
    He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; four sisters, Olive Smith, Blanche Mohler, Stella Hollinghead and Eva Sallack.
    Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Lois Brandt of Phoenix; two sons, Floyd of Monroe and Kenneth of Sioux City, Iowa; three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

BERNSTEIN - Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Federated Church for Fritz Bernstein, 84, 2321 20th Street, who died Saturday at his home. The Rev. David Yochum of Ogallala will officiate.
    Graveside services will be 2 p.m. at the Grand Island Cemetery, Grand Island. The body will lie in state after 4 p.m. today, at McKown Funeral Home.
    Fritz Bernstein was born Nov. 2, 1887 in Grand Island to Theodore and Wiebcke Voss Bernstein and was educated in Grand Island schools. He was married to Margaret Niccolis in Broken Bow July 24, 1919 and they made their home in Grand Island before moving to Columbus in 1941.
    He retired in November, 1956 as a purchasing agent for Consumers Public Power and was chairman of the Employes' Safety Conference of the Nebraska Electrical Association in 1936. That same year he served as chairman of the state safety council called by Gov. Robert Chochran.
    Mr. Bernstein served overseas with the 314th Field Signal Battalion of the 89th Division during World War I and was a past commander of American Legion Post No. 53, Grand Island. He was the first chairman of the State Safety Committee of the American Legion in Nebraska from 1935 to 1936. He was also a Mason for 50 years, a Shriner, an active participant in the Grand Island School Board, Parent Teacher Association, Columbus Service Commission and Boy Scouts.

BLASER - Jerry E. Blaser, 38, of Rt. 4, Columbus, died Saturday afternoon at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha. In failing health about a year, he undersent a kidney transplant several months ago.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Columbus, with the Rev. Francis Price officiating, and burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. today at Gass-Haney Funeral Home, where the body lies in state.
    He was born Feb. 21, 1934, in Columbus, the son of Edward and Lillian Vruble Blaser, and was graduated from Duncan High School. A farmer, he was a lifetime resident of Rt. 4.
    Mr. Blaser was a member of the Izaak Walton League. A member of St. Isidore Church, he was affiliated with the Holy Name Society.
    Surviving are his mother, of Rt. 4; two sisters, Mrs. James (Gloria) Rich and Mrs. Howard P. (Rogene) Brown, Columbus; five nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and one niece.
    Pallbearers will be Virgil Norris, Kenneth Blaser, Bill Lohr, Paul Gutzmer, Bill Walsh and John Lehr.
    The family suggests that memorials be directed to the Kidney Fund.

    Ira Bell was born Dec. 10, 1909 in Polk County to Sam and Bertha Pilling Bell. He was educated in Columbus schools and was married to Dorothy Novicki July 6, 1946 in Columbus, making his home here. He was a retired state employe and veteran of World War II.
    Survivors include two sons, Richard L. of Columbus, BM3 Robert S. in the U.S. Navy stationed in San Francisco, Calif.; a daughter, Vicki J. of Columbus; a brother, Roy F. of Sacramento, Calif.; and a granddaughter.
    Preceding him in death were his wife and parents.
    Pallbearers will be Frank Murphy, Barney Novicki, Mike Kosinski, Russell Muller, Russell Hansen and Robert Murphy.

JAWORSKI - J.W. (Jake) Jaworski, 82, of 1303 11th Street, died Thursday in Columbus Manor after a six-week illness. He was a retired Union Pacific Railroad conductor.
    Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church with burial in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Regis Watts. Scripture service is set for 7:30 p.m. Sunday at McKown Funeral Chapel, where the body will lie in state after 1 p.m. Sunday.
    A lifelong resident of Columbus, Mr. Jaworski was employed by the Union Pacific for 49 years. He was conductor on branch lines from Columbus to Spalding, Columbus to Albion, Columbus to Norfolk, and for the last several years before he retired, Aug. 13, 1961, he was conductor on the UP mainline from Omaha to North Platte.
    He was affiliated with the Brotherhood of Railway Conductors and was a former member of the Union Pacific Oldtimers Club.
    Soon of the late Thomas S. and Katherine Curulo Jaworski, he was born July 18, 1890 in Columbus and married Pauline Grzywa on May 22, 1918 at St. Bonaventure Church. He was a member of St. Bonaventure Church and Holy Name Society.
    Surviving are his wife; four sons, Everett F., William J. and James J., all of Columbus. Charles H. of Fremont and nine grandchildren.
    Last of a family of 11 children, he was preceded in death by brothers, Charles, John T., Lonnie, Emil, Joseph, Thomas, Steve; sisters, Mary, Agnes and Rose.

KURTENBACH - Funeral services for Richard N. Kurtenbach, 23, of Lindsay, who died Friday in a car accident were held at 10 a.m. Monday in the Holy Family Church in Lindsay with the Rev. Nelson Newman officiating. Burial was in the Holy Family Cemetery.
    The son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman W. Kurtenbach, he was born April 3, 1949 in Humphrey and attended the Holy Family School and Kearney State College a year.
    Prior to military service he was employed at Behlen Manufacturing Co., in Columbus, served in the Army from February, 1970 to October, 1971, and was later employed at the Lindsay Manufaturing Co. In the armed services he served a year in Vietnam, receiving the following medals; Bronze Star with one oak-leaf cluster, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 DVC, two over-seas bars, Combat Infantry Badge, Air Commendation Medal.
    He was a member of the American League Post 261 in Lindsay and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3704 in Columbus.
    Survivors include his parents, five brothers, Daniel of New York City, N.Y., Kenneth, Charles, Theodore and Steve, at home; four sisters, Mrs. Ray (Mary Helen) Micek of Grand Island, Mrs. Leon (Gloria Jean) Bruhn of Columbus, Denise and Karen at home.
    He was preceded in death by a sister, Anne, who died in infancy.

KURTENBACH - Services for Gerald A. Kurtenbach, 21, of rural Newman Grove, were held at 10 a.m. Monday in Holy Family church in Lindsay with the Rev. Nelson Newman officiating. Burial was in the Holy Family Cemetery. Gerald Kurtenbach died Friday in Albion Hospital following an auto accident.
    He was born Aug. 30, 1961, in Newman Grove to Vernon J. and Arlene M. Kurtenbach, attended the Holy Family School and Platte College. He was employed at Farmers Co-op in Lindsay.
    Survivors include his parents, five brothers, Jim, Larry, Harry, Dale and Bob; and two sisters, Debbie and Diane.

BOEHM - Funeral services for Mrs. Fred Wilhelmina Boehm will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Grace Episcopal Church in Columbus with the Rev. Robert Ahlenius officiating. Mrs. Boehm, a former resident of Columbus, died in the Schweizer Nursing Home in Minneapolis, Minn. following two years of illness.
    Friends may pay their respect from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Gass-Haney Funeral Home.
    She was born March 17, 1890 in Columbus, the daughter of William and Catherine Kumpf Bucher, attended Columbus High School and the University of Nebraska. She was married to Fred J. Boehm July 14, 1913 in Columbus, living in Grand Island several years before moving to Columbus. She took up residence in Edina, Minn., five years ago.
    She was a member of the Platte County Pioneers, Queen of Clubs, Delta Gamma Sorority, and the Grace Episcopal Church.
    Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Camden F. Winslow of Edina, Minn., Mrs. Laurence A. Kusek of Park Ridge, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. George O'Brien of Port Angeles, Wash, and three grandchidren.
    Preceding her in death were her husband in 1961, three sisters, Mrs. Myron L. Gray, Mrs. Albert Becker, Mrs. Keith Perkins; four sisters and a brother in infancy.

    He was born Nov. 17, 1901 in Silver Creek, to Paul and Katherine Gembica Krzycki. Phillip married Emelia Wruble on May 12, 1928 in Krakow, and they lived in the Nance and Platte county areas.
    The retired Nance county bridge foreman is a member of St. Isidore Church in Columbus.
    Survivors include his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Helen Gagnon of Columbus; one brother, Charles W. of Genoa; one sister, Mrs. Walter (Josephine) Bosak of Genoa.
    He was preceded in death by parents, one daughter in infancy, two brothers, and two sisters.

KINDER - Jesse S. Kinder, 88, of 2519 15th Street, died Saturday afternoon at Morys Haven.
    Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Gass-Haney Funeral chapel, with the Rev. J. Graydon Wilson officiating, and burial will be in Columbus Cemetery. The body now lies in state at the funeral home.
    The son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Watts Kinder, he was born July 15, 1884, at Gordonville, Mo. He attended Liberty School near Girardeau, Mo., and was graduated from law school at Little Rock, Ark.
    Mr. Kinder was married to Hazel Hansen Sept. 8, 1929 at Lincoln.
    He resided in Missouri, Pocatello, Ida., and in Columbus the past 28 years. A retired railway postal clerk, Mr. Kinder previously taught at Liberty School near Gordonville, Mo.
    Mr. Kinder, a Mason, was affiliated with Lebanon Lodge No. 323, A.F. & A.M., and had been awarded the Jordan Medal.
    The family suggests that memorials be directed to First United Methodist Church, of which Mr. Kinder was a member.
    Surviving are his wife, one sister, Mrs. Amy Brase of Poplar Bluffs, Mo.; and one brother, Robert Lee Kinder of Cape Girardeau, Mo. His parents two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

BRUNS - Services for Delayne (Sarg) Bruns, 49, 753 26th Avenue, who died Sunday morning at the Grand Island Veterans Hospital will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Gass-Haney Chapel with the Rev. John P. McGee officiating. Burial will be in the Roselawn Cemetery with military graveside services.
    The body will lie in state after 3 p.m Tuesday at the Gass-Haney Funeral Home.
    He was born June 25, 1923 in Monroe to John D. and Bertha Camm Bruns and was employed by the Columbus City Street Department as operator of the city landfill from 1947 until retirement in June, 1969. He was a member of the 433rd Battalion of the Signal Corps during World War II in Europe from 1943-45. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
    Survivors include his mother, two sisters, Mrs. Ed (Lorene) Allison and Mrs. Clarence (Marie) Muhle; two brothers, Andy and Clarence, several nephews and nieces, all of Columbus.
    Preceding him in death were his father, a brother, Marvin and a sister, Edna.

BEMIS - Funeral services for Mrs. R.G. (Edith L.) Bemis, 87, of 1614 Eighth Street, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Chruch with Rev. J. Graydon Wilson officiating.
    Burial will be in Circle Mound Cemetery, Rising City. Her body lies in state at McKown Funeral Home until noon Wednesday, then at church from 1 to 2 p.m.
    Mrs. Bemis died Monday morning in Methodist Hospital, Omaha, after a two-month illness.
    She was born Nov. 17, 1884 at Harborcreek, Pa., to Herbert and Mary Lucena Shattuck Davies. She and Rolla G. Bemis were married Dec. 25, 1907 at Harborcreek and lived on a farm at Rising City until 1945 when they retired to Columbus. He died in 1959.
    In Columbus Mrs. Bemis was active in the Rebekah Lodge, United Methodist Church and Women's Society of Christian Service.
    Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ramey C. (Doris) Whitney of Chappell, Mrs. A.J. (Nadine) Merrick of Fremont; one son, Charles H. of Rising City; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Her two sisters and three brothers are deceased.

BALL - Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at First United Presbyterian Church, St. Edward, for Mrs. Deforest H. (Doris) Ball, 51, of 400 North 70th Street, Lincoln. The former Columbus resident died Friday in a Lincoln hospital after an illness of five months.
    The Rev. Dale R. Bolton will officiate at the funeral, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Her body will lie in state at McKown Funeral Home in Colbus [sic], 2 p.m. Sunday until 11 a.m. Monday, then at church from 1 to 2 p.m.
    Daughter of the late Louis and Florence Patterson Novotny, she was born Aug. 31, 1921 at St. Edward, where she received her education. She was a school teacher before her marriage to Deforest H. Ball, Aug. 15, 1942 at St. Edward. They lived in Hastings, Douglas and Casper, Wyo., Albion, Columbus and Lincoln.
    Surviving are her husband; sons, Larry D. of Nebraska City, Jerry L. of Quincy, Ill., Jeffrey A. of Lincoln; five grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Laurel (Darlene) Fletcher of Bennington, Mrs. Curt (Marilyn) Lind of Omaha, Mrs. Dale (Patty) Roberts of Irvington; three step-sisters, Mrs. Warren (Nellie) Donaldson of Wichita, Kan., Mrs. Ronald (Dolores) Jacoby of South Carolina and Katherine Novotny of St. Edward; one half-brother, Earl Novotny of Chula Vista, Calif.; two half-sisters, Mrs. Bill (Deanna) Moran of Millard and Mrs. Darryl (Marylou) Raitt of Columbia, Mo.

KROV - Funeral services were 2 p.m. today at the Sokol Auditorium in Abie for Joseph Krov, 15, of Linwood, who collapsed Friday afternoon at the David City High School. Result of an autopsy Saturday attributed the cause of death to a heart attack.
    The Rev. Donald Pruett (?) officiated at the service and burial was in the Abie National Cemetery. Knott Funeral Home of David City was in charge of arrangements.
    Joseph Krov was born Oct. 23, 1957 in David City to Joseph F. Sr. and Adeline Kutka Krov. He was a freshman at the David City High School, scheduled to be initiated a Green Hand at the Future Farmers of America initiation tonight. FFA members serving as pallbearers were Gary Dostal, Dennis Dostal, Dick Romshek, Ed Speicher, Marvin Adel and Ken Allen.
    He is survived by his parents, a sister, Mrs. James (Katherine) Janousek of Dallas, Tex., and two grandmothers, Mrs. Anton Krov of Linwood and Mrs. Carolyn Trpisovsky of Brainard.
    Preceding him in death were two grandfathers, Anton Krov and James Kutka.
    David City Elementary and High School were dismissed at noon today for faculty and students to attend the service.

LEY - Funeral services for Sister Mary Ubalda Ley, O.S.F., supervisor of obstetrics at St. Mary Hospital since 1964, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha. Sister Ubalda died Thursday at St. Mary Hospital. She was born Jan. 9, 1895 in Missouri.

BARBER - Irve O. Barber, 79, Wagner Lakes died this morning at Columbus Manor.
    Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Monday at McKown Funeral Chapel, with burial in Roselawn Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. J. Graydon Wilson will officiate. The body will lie in state at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Sunday.
    Son of the late Mason and Mary Ann Barber, he was born Feb. 22, 1893 at Ponca, but spent most of his life in Platte County where he was a farmer.
    He married Myrtle V. Sperry, May 20, 1924 at Marysville, Kan., and she survives.
    Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Parry of St. Edward; sons, Bob of Columbus, Ray of Hickman; one stepson, Howard Gotschall of Arroyo Grande, Calif.; twin daughters Margaret Lindsay and Lucille Eberly, and a son, Robert, by a previous marriage; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Hazel Griffith of San Antonio, Tex. Two brothers and three sisters are deceased.
    Pallbearers will be Robert Arnone, Garry Meays, Robert Sivets, Greg Zeleny, Steve Gustavson, and Lonnie Rasmussen.

BRAZEAL - Funeral services for Mrs. Victor Ray (Anna) Brazeal, 77, of 304 Pershing Road, who died Sunday in Santa Fe, N.M., will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church, Rev. D. Lee Grace officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The body will lie in state after 4 p.m. Tuesday in McKown Funeral Home and at the church 1-2 p.m. Wednesday.
    She was born Sept. 20, 1895, in Mountain Grove, Mo., daughter of H.F. and Samantha Caudle Bruton. She was married to Victor Ray Brazel in March, 1916, in Norwood, Mo. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
    Survivors are three sons, Oren of Santa Fe., Garrett of Columbus, and Willard of Littleton, Colo.; two daughters, Mrs. Franklin (Fern) Roberts and Mrs. William (Edith) Farrell both of Phoenix, Ariz.; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Ernest of California and Granville and Frank of Missouri. She was preceded by her husband, three brothers and a sister.

JONES - Mrs. W.G. (Elizabeth) Jones, 87, of 1659 26th Avenue, died Friday in Behlen Community Hospital.
    Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Gass-Haney Funeral Chapel with Rev. A.J. Greer officiating, and burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funreal home after 1 p.m. Monday.
    Daughter of the late Owen and Margaret Jones, she was born Nov. 5, 1885 at Red Oak, Iowa, moving to Postville, Neb., in 1890.
    She married William G. Jones on March 15, 1911 at Albion, and they lived on farms near Lindsay and Monroe before moving to Columbus 51 years ago.
    Mrs. Jones was a former member of the Baptist Ladies Aid.
    Preceded in death by her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Lester (Louella) Kropbach of Inglewood, Calif., Mrs. Louis (Ivona) Savage of Glendale, Calif., Mrs. Harvey (Gail Jean) Hilmer of Columbus; one son, Daryol W. Jones of Columbus; one sister, Mrs. Art (Gladys) Jones of Tacoma, Wash.; seven grandchidren and great-grandchildren.
    Three sisters and five brothers are deceased.

LITTY - Miss Mary Litty, 92, a resident of Columbus Manor, died Saturday. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church in David City.
    The Rev. Paul York will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Her body lies in state today at the Knott Funeral Home in David City. Parish Council of Catholic Women will pray the rosary at 7:30 p.m. tonight, followed by the parish wake at 8 p.m.
    She was born March 7, 1880, the daughter of John and Rose Ege Litty. A sister, Anna of the Columbus Manor, is the only survivor. Three brothers preceded her in death.

BROCK - Mrs. Lena M. Brock, 84, lifelong resident of this vicinity, died Monday in Behlen Hospital. She had made her home at 2002 Eighth Stereet [sic] since 1910.
    Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Gass-Haney Funeral Chapel where her body now lies in state. The Rev. J. Graydon Wilson will officiate, with burial in Columbus Cemetery.
    Daughter of the late John and Mary Wuethrich Schmocker, she was born May 10, 1888 at Duncan. A 1906 graduate of Columbus High School, she attended Peru Normal School one year and was graduated from Kearney Normal in 1914. She taught three years in Platte County rural schools and 12 years in Columbus city schools.
    In June, 1926 she married John H. Brock, contractor and buider, who preceded her in death.
    Surviving are one sister, Mrs. J.W. (Louise) Becker of Garnett, Kan., and one brother, Oscar H. Schmocker of Columbus. Her brother, Fred C. Schmocker is deceased.

LAMBERT - Kristie Kay Lambert, age 2, died this morning at home, 1670 26th Avenue. She had been ill since birth.
    Services are set for 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Federated Church, with Rev. Russell Croker officiating, and burial in Columbus Cemetery. Now lying in state at McKown Funeral Home, her body will be taken to church to lie in state from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
    Kristie was born in Columbus Dec. 10, 1969. Surviving are her parents, C. Ronald and Charlotte (Tiedtke) Lambert; brother, Mark Ronald; sister, Kimberly Kay; grandparents, Mrs. Evelyn Tiedtke of Clarkson, Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Devlin of Columbus.

LOSEKE - Funeral services for Mrs. Walter L. (Edna) Loseke, 81, Rt. 6, Columbus, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. B.F. Meschke officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Her body lies in state today at Gass-Haney Funeral Chapel; Saturday, 9:30-10:30 a.m. at church.
    Mrs. Loseke, who died Wednesday in Behlen Hospital, was born Feb. 13, 1891 at Winfield, Kan., but lived in the Columbus vicinity since childhood. She attended District 10 school and Lutheran parochial school. Her parents were the late Pete and Caroline Meyer Schmitt.
    She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, Immanuel Circle and LWML.
    On March 5, 1913 at Immanuel Church she married Walter L. Loseke, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Howard W. (Dorothy) Abel of Fairfax, Va., Mrs. Walter R. (Marjorie) Boettcher of Concord, Calif., Mrs. James E. (Ruth) Brock of Omaha; brother, Edwin Schmitt of Hemingford; sister, Mrs. George Saalfeld of Santa Ana, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
    Preceding her in death were a grandson, Walter R. Boettcher Jr.; brothers, Herman of Portland, Arnold of Los Angeles; sister, Mrs. Elsie Schwantje Clausen of Columbus.
    Pallbearers will be Walter Barjenbruch, John Lehr, Carroll Loseke, Bill Braithwait, Richard Reins, Mark Loseke.
