KONWINSKI--Mrs. Konwinski dies; funeral services Tuesday
    Mrs. Stanley (Victoria) Konwinski, 63, of 560 20th avenue, died Friday in the University hospital, Omaha. She had been ill the last three months.
    Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony Catholic church with the Rev. Armand Lubanski officiating. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure cemetery.
    Rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Monday at the McKown Funeral Home where the body will lie in state after 1 p.m. Monday.
    Mrs. Konwinski was born April 25, 1900 at Duncan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jake Czarnek. She was married to Stanley Konwinski at Albion Feb. 14, 1917 and they lived at Albion, Silver Creek and Columbus.
    She was a member of St. Anthony church.
    Surviving are her husband; three sons, Clements of Chicago, Bernard and Al of Omaha; four daughters, Mrs. Joe (Loraine) Eberle of California, Mrs. Donald (Danielle) Seberger of Omaha, Mrs. Steve (Evelyn) Czapenski of Silver Creek and Mrs. Ed (Virgina) Prososki of Columbus; 26 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Jake Czarnek of Ashton; one brother, Frank Czarnek of California; four sisters, Mary Woitski of Middleton, Minn., Frances Stobbe of Ashton, Helen of Ravenna and Emilie Skournick of Omaha.
    Her father, three sisters and three brothers preceded her in death.

KUSH--Funeral services Monday for Thomas J. Kush
    Funeral services for Thomas J. Kush, jr., 26, of 1409 Sixth street, will be at 9:30 a. m. Monday at St. Anthony Catholic church with the Rev. Armand Lubanski officiating. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure cemetery.
    Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p. m. Sunday at the McKown Funeral Home where the body will lie in state after 1 p. m. that day.
    He died unexpectedly Friday morning in St. Mary's hospital.
    The son of Thomas, sr., and Vera Stock Kush, he was born Oct. 23, 1937 in Columbus and attended St. Bonaventure schools. He was a construction worker.
    Surviving are his father & two brothers, Eugene and Lawrence, all of Columbus.
    He was preceded in death by his mother, May 22, 1963, and a brother Dean, Oct. 28, 1961.

KOZAL--Peter Kozal, formerly of Duncan, dies Saturday
    A former Duncan resident, Peter Kozal, 79, Central City, died Saturday at St. Francis hospital in Grand Island where he had been a patient the past year.
    Funeral services will be at 10 a. m. Wednesday at St. Michael's Catholic church, Central City, with the Rev. Leo Kuhn in charge. Burial will be in Duncan cemetery.
    Rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Solt and Byers Funeral Home, Central City.
    Mr. Kozal, a carpenter, had lived in Central City since 1915.
    Son of the late John and Mary Briggs Kozal, he spent his early years at Duncan where he received his education in the parochial school and married Helen Stempek on Feb. 11, 1907.
    Surviving are his wife; five children, Edward G., Farmington, N.M., Larry C., Norfolk, Mrs. Florence Hueneke, Portland, Ore., Mrs. Helen Feehan and Miss Margaret Kozal both of Grand Island; four sisters, Sister M. Florentine of St. Francis hospital, Grand Island, Mrs. Mary Gainey, Schuyler, Mrs. Victoria Kolm, Columbus, Mrs. Belle Matya, Platte Center; and four grandchildren.

BROCHTRUP--Funeral services held Monday for Christena Brochtrup
    Funeral services for Mrs. Christena Brochtrup, 79, of Columbus, were held Monday morning at the Holy Trinity Catholic church in Brainard with the Rev. Daniel Kealy officiating. Burial was in the St. Mary's cemetery, David City.
    Mrs. Brochtrup died Saturday at St. Mary's hospital here after a short illness.
    She was born July 22, 1884, in Butler county the daughter of Gilbert and Wilhelmina Van Lom Litjen. On Feb. 8, 1904, she was married to Bernard J. Brochtrup at St. Francis church Center. She was a member of St. Bonaventure church, the Catholic Daughters of America, Franciscan Missionary Union and Third Order of St. Francis.
    Surviving are seven daughters Mrs. Lillian Halesovsky, Brainard; Rita and Bernice of Columbus; Mrs. Marian Hartley and Mrs. Alice Ellis of Fort Worth, Tex.; Mrs. Wilomine Schmit and Mrs. Betty Thomas of Columbus; a sister, Mrs. Delia Vanderheiden of Valentine; 17 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, on Feb. 27, 1949, three sisters and three brothers.
    Pallbearers were David Halesovsky, Donald Wolta, James Gerold, Richard Schmit, Bill Litjen.

KUMMER--Joel Kummer dies Sunday; funeral services Wednesday
    Joel Justin Kummer, age one year and eight months, died unexpectedly Sunday evening at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul J. Kummer, Rt. 4, Columbus.
    Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran church with Pastor H.M. Rathkamp officiating. Burial will be in the Gruetli cemetery.
    The body will lie in state at the Gass Funeral chapel after 11 a.m. Tuesday and at the church from 9:30 a,m. Wednesday until time of the service.
    Joel was born in Columbus June 17, 1962 and was baptized at Trinity Lutheran church.
    Surviving are his parents, Paul and Esther Benning Kummer; three sisters, Carolyn Jean, Susan Jo and Marie Jayne; one brother, Bryce Jerome; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William F. Benning and Mrs. Louisa Friess, and his paternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Anna Lemp, all of Columbus.
    He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Albert Kummer, and paternal step-grandfather, Fred Friess. The family suggests that memorials be given to Trinity Lutheran church.

BUGGI--Mrs. Frank Buggi dies today; services Thursday
    Mrs. Frank (Mary) Buggi, 77, Rt. 3, Columbus, died early this morning at St. Mary's hospital after being seriously ill only one day.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony's church, with Rev. Fr. Armand Lubanski officiating, and burial will be in St. Bonaventure cemetery.
    The body will lie in state after 1 p.m. Wednesday at McKown Funeral Home, where parish rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Wednesday. Rosary for St. Theresa Sodality members will be at 8:20.
    She was born Sept. 12, 1886, at Duncan, the daughter of Wojciech and Mary Stachura, and attended school at Duncan.
    In April, 1909, she was married to Frank Buggi at Duncan and they had since resided on the same farm four miles west of Columbus.
    Mrs. Buggi was a member of St. Anthony's church and was affiliated with St. Theresa Sodality.
    Surviving are her husband; two sons, Tony and Louis of Columbus; two daughters, Helen and Barbara of Columbus; 10 grandchildren; and one brother, Barney Stachura of Columbus.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Charles, Frank, Steve and George; and one sister, Mrs. John Murcek.

BAKENHUS--Funeral services for Anna Bakenhus on Thursday
    Funeral services for Miss Anna Bakenhus, 83, who died Monday after being in failing health about a month, will be held Thursday at 1:15 p.m. at Gass Funeral Home and at 2 p.m. at Christ Lutheran church.
    The Rev. Martin Bornemann will officiate, and burial will be in Christ Lutheran cemetery. The body will lie in state after 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
    She was born Feb. 18, 1881, in Platte county, the daughter of Henry and Anna Wilke Bakenhus and attended Dist. 35 and Christ Lutheran school. She lived north of Columbus until 1946, when she moved to Columbus.
    Miss Bakenhus was baptized and confirmed in Christ Lutheran church, of which she was a lifetime member. She was a charter member of Christ Lutheran Ladies Aid, and was also affiliated with the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
    She is survived by one sister, Mrs. William (Bertha) Wurdeman of Columbus, five nieces and six nephews.
    Preceding her in death were her parents; four brothers, Louis, Henry, John and Edward, and three sisters, Mrs. Henry (Elsie) Buss, Emma and Minna Bakenhus, all of Columbus; one niece and three nephews.

KAIN--Frank J. Kain, 78, dies here, funeral Monday
    Frank J. Kain, 78, died Thursday evening in St. Mary's hospital after a year's illness. Formerly of LeMars, Ia., he had resided with his twin sister, Mrs. L.N. Bamberg of Columbus, since last June.
    Funeral services will be at 8 a.m. Monday at St. Bonaventure Catholic church with burial in St. Bonaventure cemetery. The Rev. Elstan Coghill will officiate.
    Rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Sunday at the McKown Funeral Home where the nody wil lie in state after 1 p.m, Sunday. Mr. Kain, son of the late Thomas and Anna Kain, was born June 9, 1885 at LeMars, Iowa.
    Beside his sister he is survived by five nieces and two nephews.

BLESSEN--George W. Blessen found dead; rites Tuesday
    The body of a man identified as George Blessen, 65, of Platte Center was found in a remote part of Pawnee Park by two 11-year-old boys Friday evening. He apparently died Monday night of freezing.
    David Placek and Dana Mielak told police they had been walking in the park when they discovered the body near 6th street, 30th avenue.
    An autopsy revealed that the man probably died of exposure several days earlier. Neighbors in the area told authorities that a man of the same description had been seen walking toward the area about 5 p.m. last Monday. Late Monday was the last time the man was seen at a local motel where he had stayed several days earlier. Police found some of his belongings in the motel room.
    Authorities believe that the man became intoxicated and walked to the park from the motel. The temperature Monday night reached a low of 16 degrees.
    Funeral services wil be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Gass Funeral chapel with the Rev. D. Lee Grace officiating, and burial will be in the Platte Center Baptist cemetery.
    Body will lie in state at the Gass chapel after 11 a.m. Monday.
    He was born in Platte Center Feb. 22, 1899, the son of John F. and Minnie Meyer Blessen, and attended District 22 school.
    His parents preceded him in death. Surviving are two brothers, Chris of Portland, Ore., William of Platte Center, and three nieces.

KRUEGER--Mrs. Fred Krueger dies here Sunday, rites Wednesday
    Mrs. Fred (Alma) Krueger, 64, Platte Center, died Sunday evening at the Lutheran hospital. She had been ill the past 12 days.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran church, Platte Center. The Rev. Ed Neben will officiate, and burial will be in the Baptist Cemetery.
    The body is to lie in state at McKown Funeral Home from 1 p.m. Tuesday until noon Wednesday then at the church from 1 p.m. to the hour of service.
    She was born 27 Dec 1899 at Platte Center, the daughter of Herman A. and Mary Brunken Kluever, and attended Dist. 22 and Dist. 28 schools.
    On Dec. 14, 1919, she was married to Fred Krueger at Columbus. They lived at Ithaca until 1920, when they came to Platte Center to since reside.
    Mrs. Krueger was a member of the American Legion auxiliary and was a past president of that organization. She was also affiliated with the Grace Lutheran Ladies aid, Concordia Teachers College Guild, and Birthday Club.
    The family requests that memorials be made to Grace Lutheran church.
    Mrs. Krueger is survived by her husband; two sons, Leroy and Arlie of Columbus; one daughter, Mrs. Mark (Eleanor) Bruckner of Platte Center; 13 grandchildren; three brothers, Walter Kluver and Alfred (Bob) Kluever of Columbus and Henry Kluver of Platte Center; and three sisters, Mrs. Shirley Morgan and Mrs. Loren (Dorothea) Pollard of Columbus, and Mrs. Albert (Clara) Goering of Platte Center.
    She was preceded in death by two infant sons and two infant daughters; her parents; one brother, Ray; and two sisters, Mrs. Herman (Mable) Goering and Bertha.

BRAY--Frank D. Bray, former Columbus resident, dies
    A former Columbus resident, Frank D. Bray, 72, died today in St. Elizabeth hospital, Lincoln, following surgery. He was seriously ill the last two weeks.
    Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Bonaventure cemetery. The Rev. Francis Price will officiate.
    Rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Thursday at the McKown Funeral Home where the body will lie in state after 1 p.m. Thursday.
    Mr. Bray, a retired farmer and businessman, moved to Lincoln eight years ago to live with a sister.
    He was born Dec. 21, 1891 at Syracuse, the son of Lyman and Ida Snyder Bray, and received his education in the Syracuse schools.
    He married Elizabeth Gragert in Columbus on April 11, 1914. She died in 1948.
    While living in this community Mr. Bray was in the auto business with his son, Clarence, and later farmed with his son, Milton.
    He was a member of the Oddfellows lodge.
    Surviving are his sons, Clarence and Milton, and one grandson, Larry Bray, all of Columbus; one brother, Lyman of Omaha; two sisters, Mrs. Gus (Nellie) Doerck of Lincoln and Mrs. Max (Esther) Sporer of St. Paul, Minn.

KUBICEK--Millie Kubicek dies Thursday; rites Monday
    Mrs. Millie Kubicek, 83, of 1893 Eighth street, died Thursday afternoon in a Norfolk hospital. She had been ill the past five years.
    Funeral services are scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony Catholic church with the Rev. Armand Lubanski officiating, and burial will be in St. Bonaventure cemetery.
    Rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Sunday at the McKown Funeral Home where the body will lie in state after 1 p.m. Sunday. Mrs. Kuibicek, a resident of Columbus since 1950, was born Aug. 25, 1880 in Czechoslovakia. At the age of one she came to Abie, Nebr., with her parents, John and Katherine Bohaty Novak, residing there until her marriage to John Kubicek on Nov. 14, 1905.
    The Kubiceks farmed at Brainard, Valparaiso and in Polk county near Shelby.
    In Columbus, Mrs. Kubicek was a member of St. Anthony's parish and St. Theresa sodality.
    Her husband died on June 7, 1959, and she was also preceded in death by an infant son, three brothers and three sisters. She is survived by seven sons, John jr., Alouis and Edward of Columbus, Carl of Glendora, Calif., Emil, Joseph and William of Shelby; four daughters, Mrs. Leo (Mary) Glatter and Mrs. Herman (Rose) Gabel of Shelby, Mrs. James (Helen) Alt of Columbus and Mrs. Marvin (Lillian) Dawes of Osceola; 2 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

KRINGS--Dies - Mrs. Henry Krings, about 83, a former resident of this vicinity, died Thursday in a Grand Island hospital Her husband, who preceded her in death . . . [not legible] Columbus. She is survived by two sons, Henry of Loveland, Colo., Gene of Plattsmouth, and four daughters, Mrs. Alice Kopetzky of Denver, Mrs. Rose Dreher of Grand Island, Maud and Frieda of Omaha. The funeral was held this morning in Grand Island.

JIROVEC--Dies - Mrs. Bessie Jirovec of Clarkson, who made her home with the Carl Schroeders in Columbus, died Saturday in St. Mary's hospital. She was 84. Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. today at the Clarkson funeral home and services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and 10 a.m. at the Clarkson Catholic church.

KAMPER--Dies - Mrs. Donald Kamper, 33, formerly Theresa Prorok, died unexpectedly this morning in Grand Island. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Catherine Kush Prorok. Surviving are her husband and eight brothers and sisters, Sylvester Prorok and Mrs. Raymond Micek, Columbus; Mrs. George Weiss, Platte Center; Mrs. Joe Dubas, Alex and Topil Prorok, Grand Island. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's cathedral in Grand Island. Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m.

KRINGS--William H. Krings dies, funeral services Friday
    William H. Krings, 80, resident of the Cedar Rapids community for 44 years, died Tuesday in the Albion hospital after a lingering illness. He formerly farmed east of Columbus.
    Funeral services will be at 10 a.m, Friday at St. Anthony Catholic church, Cedar Rapids, with burial in the parish cemetery. Rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Levander Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids.
    Mr. Krings is survived by two sons, Alfred of Lexington and Leonard of Creston; two brothers, Emil and John of Cedar Rapids, and 16 grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his wife; daughter, Clara; son Harold; two brothers, Frank and Henry; four sisters, Ms. Lena Gronenthal, Mrs. Josephine Dreier, Mrs. Hannah Person and Miss Laura Krings.

KORTH--Columbus woman's sister-in-law dies
    Mrs. David Korth of Osmond, died Wednesday evening of a heart attack.
    She was a sister-in-law of Mrs. Marie Wegener of Columbus.
    Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Pierce. Mrs. Wegener and Mr. and Mrs. Victor Zuerlein of Columbus are planning to attend.

BAKEY--Edward A. Bakey dies; funeral services Monday
    Edward A. Bakey, 77, long-time Columbus barber who resided at Gerrard Court, died Thursday in the Lutheran hospital after an illness of two years. He had been hospitalized the last two and one-half weeks.
    Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Bonaventure Catholic church with the Rev. Elstan Coghill officiating, and burial will be in St. Bonaventure cemetery.
    Rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Sunday at the McKown Funeral Home where the body will lie in state after 1 p.m. Sunday.
    Edward August Bakey was born Oct. 15, 1886 at Seward. His parents were the late Frederick and Augusta Boeke'.
    On Nov. 26, 1906 he married Anna Louise Ballweg in Seward, and the following February they moved to Columbus where they since resided. Mr. Bakey was a barber for more than 50 years.
    Surviving are his wife; two sons, Ed of Sunland, Cal., and Bruno of Los Angeles; four daughters, Mrs. Charles (Marie) Devine of San Francisco, Mrs. William (Frances) Archer of North Hollywood, Cal., Mrs. Francis (Irene) Miller of Sutton and Mrs. Fred (Angela) Todd of Los Gatos, Cal.; 18 grandchidren and 15 great-grandchildren.
    Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and two grandchildren.

KASSEN--Son-In-Law Dies - Vernon Kassen, son-in-law of Mrs. Anna Schlesinger of Columbus, died Wednesday evening at St. Paul, Minn. He was the husband of the former Eleanor Alliss of Columbus and both Mr. and Mrs. Kassen were well known here.

BRIX--Mrs. Louis Brix dies, funeral services Wednesday
    Mrs. Louis (Ernestine) Brix, 82, died today in Morys Haven after a lingering illness.
    Funeral rites will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the McKown Funeral Home chapel with James Gerrard, Schuyler, in charge. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial cemetery.
    The body will lie in state at the McKown chapel after 1 p.m. Tuesday.
    Mrs. Brix was born Sept. 22, 1881 in Austria, daughter of Ludwig and Cecilia Dohner Rohrich, and came to Butler county as a small child.
    She was married to Louis Brix Feb. 27, 1907 in Columbus, and they farmed northeast of Columbus for many years. The last year and a half she lived at Morys Haven.
    She was a member of the Jehovah Witnesses.
    Her husband died April 26, 1949, and she was also preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. John Minnenga, Hastings, and brother, Rudolph Rohrich, Pleasanton.
    Surviving are three children, Louis of Lincoln, Mrs. Charles (Margaret) Welch and Mrs. Clarence (Erma) Rickert, both of Columbus, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

BRIX--Survivors -- Survivors of Mrs. Louis Brix, who died Monday at Morys Haven, included two brothers, Richard Rohrich of Columbus and Ludwig Rohrich of Bellwood, and a sister, Mrs. George Mais of Randall, Minn.

BOCK--Funeral services for Leo H. Bock on Thursday
    Services for Leo H. Bock, 42, who died unexpectedly Monday evening in Douglas County hospital, Omaha, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter Catholic church, Bellwood.
    The Rev. G.C. Messman will officiate and burial will be in St. Bonaventure cemetery, Columbus, with military graveside rites by the Bellwood American Legion Post of which he was a member.
    Rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. today at the McKown Funeral Home chapel where the body lies in state.
    Mr. Bock was born at Bellwood on Jan. 25, 1922, the son of Frank and Anna Seidel Bock. He attended Bellwood schools. Later he lived in North Platte and Denver, and four years ago he moved to Omaha where he was a partner in the Bock and Fees Insurance Agency.
    During World War II he served in the Army from 1943 to January, 1946, with overseas duty in the Philippines.
    Mr. Bock was an outstanding baseball player. He was a former member of the Bellwood Fire Department.
    Surviving are his wife, the former Irene Zuroski, whom he married June 29, 1941 in Salina, Kan.; two chidren, Gary Lee and Judy Ann of Omaha; his parents of Bellwood; eight brothers and sisters, Frank, jr., Harold, Mrs. Paul (Elsie) Kruse and Mrs. Fred (Irene) Brase, all of Bellwood; Mrs. Harry (Anna) Conrad of Logan, Ia., Mrs. Ben (Wilma) Hopkin of Omaha, Mrs. Walter (Margaret) Peters of David City and Roy Bock of Columbus.

KASSEN--Rites held for Vernon Kassen
    Funeral services for Vernon H. Kassen, 38, of Cedar Grove, Minn., were held at Christ Lutheran church there. Burial was in Fort Snelling National cemetery.
    Born in Cologne, Minn., Mr. Kassen was a resident of the St. Paul area for seven years. He was a pressman for the Deluxe Check Printers.
    He was married to Eleanor Alliss of Columbus on Nov. 17, 1951, at Immanuel Lutheran church in Columbus. While residing here, he was employed by Raymond Electric Company.
    Mr. Kassen is survived by his wife; three sons, James, David and Gordon; his mother, Mrs. Mary Kassen of Cologne, Minn.; four brothers and four sisters.
    Among those attending the funeral were Mrs. Anna Schlesinger and Gary, Mrs. Lester Tiaden, Mrs. John Duren and Mrs. Mary Brase of Columbus, Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Schlesinger and Henry Brase of Shelby, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brase of Bellwood.

KAPUSTKA--Death Reported - Mr. and Mrs. Adam Kusek received word of the death of William Kapustka, 9-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Emmanuel Kapustka of Elyria. The boy died last night in a Burwell hospital of injuries sustained when he was struck by a car at Elyria. William was a grandson of Mr and Mrs. Jim Iwanksi of Elyria ____.

KLUG--Mrs. Anna Klug dies, funeral services Monday
    Mrs. Anna Klug, 82, of 1856 22nd avenue, died Thursday evening at Lutheran hospital after a lingering illness. She had been bedfast several weeks.
    Last rites will be conducted Monday at 1:15 p.m. at Gass Funeral Home and at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran church, Shell Creek. The Rev. William Saas will officiate, and burial will be in Calvary cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home after 11 a.m. Sunday.
    She was born Dec. 28, 1881, in Colfax county, the daughter of Johann and Anna Gisin Klug and attended Dist. 8 school, Colfax county.
    On Jan. 30, 1902, she was married to Herman Klug at the home of her parents. They lived 12 miles northeast of Columbus until retiring and moving here in 1949.
    Mrs. Klug was a member of St. John's, Shell Creek, where she was baptized and confirmed. She was formerly a member of the Ladies Aid, and formerly served as church organist.
    Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Frank (Charlotte) Kasper of Columbus; three sons, Werner, Paul and Clemens, all of Richland; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband in 1955; three brothers, Emil, John and William Klug, all of Columbus; also one brother and one sister in childhood; and one grandchild.

BOWE--Funeral services Friday for Joseph Bowe, sr.
    Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Bonaventure Catholic church for Joseph P. Bowe, sr., 74 of 3115 13th street. In ill health the past few years, he died Tuesday in Tabor, Ia.
    The Rev. Elstan Coghill will officiate at the requiem Mass and at graveside services in St. Bonaventure cemetery. Rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Thursday at the McKown Funeral Home where the body will lie in state after 1 p.m. that day.
    A resident of Columbus since 1916, Mr. Bowe was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad for 45 years. He was a yard foreman at the time of his retirement.
    He was born March 4, 1890 at Parsons, Kan., the son of Harry and Katherine Glenn Bowe. Orphaned at the age of nine, he lived with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Glenn at Fullerton and farmed there prior to moving to Silver Creek where he was employed by Ed McCauley at the Kent-Burke ranch. From there he came to Columbus.
    Mr. Bowe was a member of St. Bonaventure parish, Holy Name society and the Union Pacific Oldtimers club.
    He is survived by his wife, the former Wilda Lacey, whom he married at Fullerton on July 26, 1913.
    Also surviving are three sons, Laurence of Osceola, Joseph, Jr., of Columbus and David of Annandale, Va; four daughters, Mrs. Bryan (Dorothy) Shellbourn of Council Bluffs, Ia., Mrs. Edward (Virginia) Schueler of Monrovia, Cal., Mrs. Kenneth (Betty) Johnson of Azusa, Cal., and Mrs. Richard (Sharon) Whitehill of Tabor, Ia.; one sister, Mrs. E.J. McCauley of Silver Creek; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
    His parents, two sisters and one brother preceded him in death.

BLASER--Mrs. Frank Blaser dies; funeral services Friday
    Mrs. Frank (Lena) Blaser, 91, of 1060 22nd avenue, died Tuesday at Annie Jeffrey Memorial hospital in Osceola. She had been ill the past six months.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Luke's United Church of Christ. The Rev. Melvin Schroer will officiate, with burial in Columbus cemetery. The body will lie in state after 11 a.m. Thursday at the Gass Funeral Home and at the church Friday from 9 a.m. to the hour of service.
    The daughter of Christian and Elizabeth Falb Schupbach, she was born Sept. 21, 1872, in Canton Bern, Switzerland. She came to the United States with her parents when nine years of age, and went to school in West Bend, Ia., after earlier attending school in Switzerland.
    Several years after coming to the U.S., the family moved to the District 5 community. She had since resided there until two years ago, when she came to Columbus to reside with a daughter, Mrs. Sarah Ernst.
    She was married to Frank Blaser Dec. 9, 1897, at the home of her parents. Mr. Blaser died in 1962.
    Mrs. Blaser was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ, and was affiliated with the Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the Swiss Ladies Auxiliary.
    The family suggests that memorials be directed to the St. Luke's memorial fund.
    She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Carl (Frances) Wuethrich of Montebello, Calif., and Mrs. Herbert (Sarah) Ernst, Mrs. Edward (Della) Kolar and Mrs. Kenneth (Lorena) Johansen of Columbus; 11 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren; one brother, Rudolf Schupbach of Fullerton; and one sister, Mrs. Otto (Elizabeth) Ernst of Columbus.
    Mrs. Blaser was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Walter, in 1958; one granddaughter and one great-grandson; one sister, Mrs. Rosa Ernst of Columbus; and three brothers, Fred Schupbach of Rushville, Alfred of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Christian of Columbus.

JARECKI--Mrs. Ben Jarecki dies here today; funeral Saturday
    Mrs. Ben (Frances) Jarecki, 41, of 672 31st avenue, died this morning in St. Mary's hospital after an illness of one month.
    Funeral services are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony Catholic church, the Rev. Armand Lubanski officiating, and burial will be in the St. Bonaventure cemetery.
    Body will lie in state after 1 p.m. Friday at the McKown Funeral Home where rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. that day. St. Theresa sodality will recite the rosary at 7:30 p.m.
    She was born Aug 6, 1922 at Genoa, the daughter of Joe and Clara Wandro Moritz, and attended rural and parochial schools in Nance county. In later years she lived at Dwight.
    Her first husband, Albin Kouma, whom she married in 1950, preceded her in death April 26, 1957.
    On Oct. 3, 1959, she was married to Ben Jarecki, who survives her.
    Also surviving are a daughter, Marlene; her parents of Columbus; sisters, Mrs. Steve (Loretta) Reina of Lakehurst, N.J., Mrs. Louis (Stella) Skibinski of Valparaiso, Mrs. Jerry (Sophie) Kresl of Lincoln, Mrs. Paul (Theresa) Kresha and Rosalie Moritz of Columbus; brothers Ray and Zig Moritz of Columbus; grandmother, Mrs. Sophia Wandro of Silver Creek. Her grandfather, Joseph Wandro, preceded her in death.
    Mrs. Jarecki was a member of St. Anthony parish, St. Theresa sodality and Third Order of St. Francis.

KULA--Charles Kula dies, funeral services Monday
    Charles Kula, 88, of 3103 8th street, died Thursday at his home following a lingering illness.
    Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Bonaventure church, with Rev. Fr. Armand Lubanski officiating, and burial will be in St. Bonaventure cemetery.
    The body will lie in state after 1 p.m. Sunday at McKown Funeral Home, where Rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Sunday.
    He was born Dec. 21, 1875, in Pilsno, Poland, the son of Charles and Anna Lesiek Kula. He was educated in Poland.
    Mr. Kula came to the United States about 70 years ago, and moved to Columbus after spending a year in Chicago.
    He was married to Anna Nickolite Feb. 14, 1897. She died Sept. 6, 1931. On Oct. 25, 1932, Mr. Kula was married to Elizabeth Schmid of Poland.
    Mr. Kula was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad until his retirement in 1948.
    He was a member of St. Anthony's church, and the family suggests that memorials be directed to the church building fund.
    Mr. Kula is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; one son, Ted Kula, Columbus; and two half-brothers, Carl Holys of Chicago and Frank Holys of Poland. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna; his parents, four brothers and one sister.

BETTINGER--Service held for Joseph Bettinger
    Funeral services for Joseph J. Bettinger, 74, of Englewood, Colo, formerly of Lindsay, were held at St. Louis Catholic church at Englewood. Burial was in Mr. Olivet cemetery.
    Mr. Bettinger, resident of a nursing home, died at Veterans hospital in Denver.
    Mr. Bettinger was born in the St. Bernard community, July 13, 1890, his parents residing three miles west of Lindsay on a section of land. After being a rural mail carrier at Lindsay for a number of years, he moved to Colorado in 1916 and farmed at Stratton.
    He was a cook at the Shirley Savoy hotel in Denver for 20 years. A veteran of World War I, he was a member of Leyden-Chiles Wickersham Post, American Legion.
    A bachelor, Mr. Bettinger is survived by seven brothers: Peter J. of Golden, Colo., John, Edwin and George, all of Englewood, Colo., Clemens H. and Henry J., both of Denver, Colo., and Larry A. of Bellview, Colo.

    Funeral services for Mrs. Gerhard (Katie) Janssen, 80, of 3306 16th street, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran church of Grand Prairie, northeast of Platte Center.
    Clifford Swanson will officiate, and burial will be in Zion Lutheran cemetery. The body now lies in state at McKown Funeral Home, and will be at the church from 9 a.m. Thursday until the hour of service.
    Mrs. Jansen [sic] died Monday at Boone County Community hospital in Albion after being in failing health for some time.
    She was born Oct 24, 1883, at Halloywayville, Ill, the daughter of Johann H. and Philippena Genglinger Gehring.
    On May 29, 1911, she was married to Gerhard Janssen at Zion Lutheran church. They resided on a farm in the Grand Prairie community until 1949, when they moved to Columbus.
    Mrs. Janssen was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She was a member of Zion Lutheran church of Grand Prairie, and of the Ladies Aid.
    She is survived by her husband; three sons, Alvin, Harold and Gilbert, all of Platte Center; two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Viola) Osten of Columbus and Mrs. Wilfred (Lorraine) Hoessel of Leigh; and 12 grandchildren.
    Mrs. Janssen was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Edna; her parents; four brothers, Henry, Louis, George and Fred Gehring; and four sisters, Mrs. Leopold (Elizabeth) Siebler, Mrs. Anthony (Minnie) Hassebrook, Mrs. Herman (Bena) Janssen and Mrs. Bernard (Emma) Janssen.

BROWN--Francis Brown, former Columbus resident, dies
    Friends received word that Francis E. Brown, 46, former Columbus resident, died Monday at his home in Clay Center, Kan.
    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Danner Funeral Home in Abilene, Kan. Burial will be at Solomon, Kans., his birthplace.
    Mr. Brown was with the Brown-Lips Corporation at Clay Center the past six years. He was formerly associated with the firm of Raymond H. Reed, Wurdeman & Associates from 1938 until 1958 as an electrical engineer.
    A veteran of World War I, Mr. Brown was an Army Pilot from 1941-45.
    He is survived by his wife, the former Margaret McCutchan; a son, David, and daughter, Janet; his mother, Mrs. H.L. Brown of Abilene, Kan.; four brothers and one sister.

BROWN--Rites held for Francis Brown
    Funeral services for Francis E. Brown, 46, of Clay Center, Kan., former Columbus resident, were held Aug. 5 at Danner Funeral Home in Abilene, Kan. The Rev. Howard M. Von Schriltz of Clay Center officiated, and burial was in Prairie Mound cemetery at Solomon, Kan.
    Mr. Brown, who died unexpectedly Aug. 3, was employed for 19 years as an electrical engineer for the Reed Engineering Company of Columbus, formerly of Abilene.
    He was born near Solomon, Kan., the son of Harvey and Ethel Brown. He attended Solomon high school and Kansas State university at Manhattan. He was married to Margaret McCutchan Aug. 7, 1943.
    For the past seven years he resided in Clay Center, Kan., where he was associated in a farm equipment sales firm. He was a member of First Methodist church in that community.
    Mr. Brown served in the Air Force from April, 1942, to November, 1945. A pilot, he served as an instructor and later served in the Pacific area. His decorations included the Air Medal, Bronze Stars for the New Guinea, South Phillipine and Luzon campaigns, and Phillipine Liberation ribbon.
    Surviving are his wife; son, David, and daughter, Janet, at home; his mother, Mrs. H.L. Brown of Abilene; a sister, Mrs. Harold Ross of Niles, Kan.; and four brothers, Chester of Salina, Kan., Dale of Hollenberg, Kan., Harold of Abilene, and Merle of Shreveport, La.

KINCAID--Fred E. Kincaid dies; funeral services Saturday
    Fred E. Kincaid, 78, of Rt. 3, died Wednesday night at the Lutheran hospital. He had been ill the past two months.
    Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 9 a.m. at Highland Park Evangelical Free chruch, Columbus, with the Rev. E. T. Gunsolley officiating, and at 2:30 p.m. at Rosedale Evangelical Covenant church at Bristow. Rev. Gunsolley and the Rev. Elroy Anderson will officiate, and burial will be in Bristow cemetery.
    The body will lie in state at Gass Funeral Home after 11 a.m. Friday, and at the church from 8 a.m. Saturday to the hour of service.
    Mr. Kincaid was born Aug. 11, 1886, in Ewing, Va., the son of Charles and Martha Miller Kincaid, and attended school in Lynch. He was married to Anna J. Person April 15, 1914, at Bristow.
    He homesteaded a ranch near Sulphur, S.D., and later they moved to Bristow. Mr. Kincaid worked in the bank there for a time, and then spent 29 years as a salesman for the W. T. Raleigh Company.
    They moved to Columbus 11 years ago, and Mr. Kincaid was employed as a bookkeeper for radio station KJSK.
    Mr. Kincaid attended Highland Park Evangelical Free church. The family suggests that memorials be directed to the missions or the Highland Park church.
    He is survived by his wife; two sons, Milo Kincaid of Columbus and Harold of Denver; one daughter, Mrs. Basil (Florence) Anderson of Denver; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one brother, James of Sturgis, S.D.; and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Dormer of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Mary Trauger of Riverside, Calif.
    Mr. Kincaid was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Horace, of Chino, Calif.

    George A. Kallweit, 77, of 1771 37th Ave., died Saturday morning at a Norfolk hospital. In failing health the past five years, he had been hospitalized for five weeks.
    Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church (Grand Prairie), Platte Center. The Rev. Clifford Swanson will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at McKown Funeral Home after 1 p.m. today and at the church after 1 p.m. Tuesday.
    Mr. Kallweit was born June 30, 1887, in Grand Prairie Township, Platte county, the son of Otto and Anna Rose Treinies Kallweit, sr.
    He attended Platte county schools and on March 26, 1913 he married Ida Lutjens at Shell Creek Baptist church. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in 1964. He lived on the same farm for 67 years and 10 years ago they retired and moved to Columbus. He formerly was a farmer and implement dealer in Platte Center. He served on the school board of Dist. 28, the Church Council and Church Brotherhood.
    Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Milton (Velma) Goering, Platte Center, and Mrs. Louis (Ruth) Shank; two sons, Marvin of Humphrey and Earl of Platte Center; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Jake (Martha) Schmitt.
    He was preceded in death by parents; brothers, Anton, William, Henry, Edward and Otto, jr.; one sister, Mrs. John (Alma) Von Bergen.

    Joseph B. Koziol, 81, died at 2:30 a.m. today at his home in Osceola. He had been in failing health the past year.

    He was born Nov. 11, 1882, in Polk county, the son of Barney and Kathryn Koziol, and attended school in Polk county.
    Mr. Koziol was married to Joann Boruch Feb. 20, 1906, at St. Lawrence church, Silver Creek, and they resided in Polk county.
    A retired farmer, Mr. Koziol was a member of St. Mary's parish.
    He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Angeline Gaver, Columbus; four sons, Blase of Columbus, Albin and Emil of Osceola, and Joseph R. of Lincoln; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Nosal of Columbus and Mrs. Mary Gaver of of [sic] Omaha.

    Sister Mary Pius Brandstetter, a teacher at St. Francis school in Humphrey, died about 6 a.m. today at St. Mary's hospital. She had been ill since Sunday.
    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's hospital chapel, with the Rev. Miles Kowskie officiating, and burial will be in St. Bonaventure cemetery.
    McKown Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The body will lie in state Friday afternoon at the hospital parlor.
    Sister Mary Pius was born at West Point, the daughter of Phillip and Wilhelmina Strong. She was a former instructor at St. Bonaventure school here, and this year was on the faculty at St. Francis.

    James Milo Bartes, 32, Rt. 1, Shelby, died Sunday morning at Norfolk Lutheran hospital. He was injured in an automobile accident early Saturday morning two and a half miles south of Norfolk.

KLUEVER--John Kluever, 74, dies this morning
    John Kluever, 74, of 3323 13th street died this morning, apparently of a heart attack, while he was driving his car.
    Kluever was driving about four miles west of Columbus on highways 81 and 22, at about 8:20 a.m. today, when witnesses said he slumped over the steering wheel and his car went into a ditch, striking a telephone pole.
    The crash unit was called, but Mr. Kluever was apparently dead on arrival. The body is at the McKown Funeral Home. A complete obituary will appear in the Telegram later.

    Mr. Kluever was married to Elsie Berger March 8, 1913. They resided on a farm near Platte Center until 1916, when they came to Columbus.
    He was a mechanic, and also worked as a power district employe about nine years around the 1930's. He enjoyed woodworking as a hobby.
    Mr. Kluever was affilliated with the Baptist church. He was a member of the Oddfellows Lodge and was a past noble grand of that organization, and had also been a member of the Electrical Workers Union.
    He is survived by his wife; one son, Allen E. Kluever of Columbus; four grandchildren, Pamela, Allen, Thomas and Elizabeth; and one brother, Fred, of Columbus. His parents, three brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.
    The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Baptist church.

JOHNSON--Killed in Accident - Mrs. Harry Nankes received word that her son-in-law, H. L. Johnson of Texarkana, Tex., was killed Saturday in a one-car accident in Missouri. He was alone. Funeral arrangements are pending, with burial in Texarkana. Mrs. Johnson is the former Miss Irma Nantkes of Columbus. Also surviving are Patricia, Michael and Mary, all at home. Mrs. Nantkes and son Robert, of Holdrege, left this morning for Texarkana.

BECHER--William Becher of Omaha dies
    William S. Becher, 95, of 3325 Fontenelle Boulevard, Omaha died Thursday in an Omaha hospital.
    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Kramer Funeral Home in Omaha, under charge of St. John's Lodge No. 25, A.F.& A.M. Committal services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Columbus cemetery, with Rev. Harold B. Taylor in charge.
    Mr. Becher was appointed a clerk with the Labor Commission in Omaha in 1892. On July 1, 1893, he was appointed a clerk in the Internal Revenue Service and served in that capacity more than 45 years, retiring No. 30, 1938.
    He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Estella M. Stockham, four nieces and one nephew.
    Gass Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

KAIPUST--Funeral services for Frank Kaipust on Friday
    Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Bonaventure Catholic church for Frank H. Kaipust, 69, who died unexpectedly Tuesday at Morys Haven.
    The Rev. Elstan Coghill, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in St. Bonaventure cemetery. Rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Thursday at the McKown Funeral Home where the body will lie in state after 1 p.m. that day.
    Mr. Kaipust, a retired farmer, was born Nov. 23, 1894 at Platte Center and lived in that community until coming to Columbus in December, 1956, to live with his sister, Mrs. Valeria Morys.
    The son of Michael and Agnes Placek Kaipust, he attended St. Joseph parochial school in Platte Center.
    Besides Mrs. Morys, he is survived by two other sisters, Mrs. Catherine Zakrzewski of Primrose, Mrs. Jack (Agnes) Kamm of Omaha, and a brother, Mike Kaipust of Omaha.
    His parents, two brothers, Joseph and Tommy, and two sisters, Mary and Louise, preceded him in death.
    Memorials may be given to St. Bonaventure church.

LUESCHEN--Olga Lueschen dies; services on Wednesday
    Mrs. Olga Lueschen, 78, of 1821 10th street, died unexpectedly Sunday evening at Lutheran hospital.
    Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1:15 p.m. at Gass Funeral chapel and at 2 p.m. at Christ Lutheran church. The Rev. A.H. Guettler will officiate, and burial will be in Fremont Memorial cemetery.
    The body will lie in state after 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
    She was born March 10, 1886, in Platte county, the daughter of Herman and Louise Hadeler Bakenhus, and attended Dist. 23 school and Christ Lutheran parochial school.
    A lifetime resident of the county, Mrs. Lueschen had been employed as a housekeeper the last few years.
    She was a member of Christ Lutheran church, where she was baptized and confirmed.
    Mrs. Lueschen is survived by one son, Norman of Fremont; two sisters, Mrs. Ed (Lucy) Michaelson and Mrs. Ernst (Anna) Otte of Columbus; and one brother, Oscar Bakenhus of Leigh. Her parents, four brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
    Gerhard Frese will be in charge of memorials at the church.

KRINGS--Died Monday -- Word has been received that Mrs. Emil Krings, 84, Cedar Rapids, died Monday in the Albion hospital after a lingering illness. Rosary will be prayed Wednesday evening at the Levander mortuary in Cedar Rapids and the funeral is set for 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony Catholic church, Cedar Rapids, with burial in the parish cemetery.

BAKENHUS--Oscar Bakenhus dies at Leigh, rites Thursday
    Oscar Bakenhus, 85, a retired farmer, died early this morning at his home, Rt. 1, Leigh. He had been in failing health since last summer.
    Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. A.H. Guettler at 1:15 p.m. Thursday at the Gass Funeral Home and 2 p.m. at Christ Lutheran church, with burial in Christ Lutheran cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home after 11 a.m. Wednesday.
    Son of the late Herman and Louise Hadeler Bakenhus, he was born May 25, 1879, in Platte county. He was baptized and confirmed in Christ Lutheran church of which he was a lifetime member, and attended the District 23, Christ Lutheran and Fremont Normal schools.
    On June 17, 1915, he married Martha Otte at Christ Lutheran church. They farmed south of Leigh for many years.
    Surviving are his wife; four sons, Walter, Orvis and Orden of Leigh, Ora of Marion, Ia.; three daughters, Elna, Esther and Arloa of Leigh; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ed (Lucy) Michaelson and Mrs. Ernst (Anna) Otte of Columbus.
    A daughter, Lorna, died in 1930. Also preceding him in death were his brother, William F. of Leigh; sisters, Mrs. Henry (Mathilda) Loseke of Leigh and Mrs. Olga Lueschen of Columbus; as well as three brothers and two sisters who died in childhood.

KAUFFMANN--Word of Death -- Mrs. W.O. Jacobsen received word of the death of her aunt, Mrs. Frank Kauffmann of La Jolla, Calif., formerly of Omaha. Funeral services will be Wednessday at Dundee Presbyterian church in Omaha. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. John Ahlstrand, and granddaughter Mrs. Joseph Barker III, both of Omaha.

SHERIDAN--Mrs. Ann Sheridan, 81, died this morning at Genoa emergency hospital.
    A resident of Genoa Haven the past seven years, she had been bed fast the last five years.
    Last rites will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Bonaventure church with Father Francis Price officiating, and burial will be in the Catholic cemetery.
    The body is to lie in state after 1 p.m. Sunday at McKown Funeral Home, where Rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Sunday by the parish and members of organizations with which Mrs. Sheridan had been affiliated.
    She was born Dec. 21, 1882, in County Cork, Ireland, the daughter of John and Mary O’Keefe Regan. She came to the U.S. when five years of age and spent the rest of her life in Nebraska. She attended school at Platte Center.
    On June 7, 1904, she was married to John M. Sheridan at St. Joseph Church, Platte Center.
    Mrs. Sheridan was active in the Third Order of St. Francis, St. Ann’s Society, Father Flanagan’s Mothers Club and Franciscan Missionary Union.
    She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Blake (Mary) Gladfelter of Columbus; three grandchildren, Raphael Gladfelter of Shawnee, Kan., Jack of Columbus and Mrs. Lyle (Dorothy) Wolfe of Columbus; 10 great- grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Francis (Genevieve) Kemnitz of Columbus.
    Mrs. Sheridan was preceded in death by her husband, on Dec. 23, 1943; her son, Raphael R. Sheridan, killed in a railroad accident Sept. 9, 1924; her parents; three sisters, Mrs. E. F. Lusienski, Mrs. John Lueke and Marie Regan; and four brothers, Richard, Joseph and Luke Regan and one in infancy.

BURKE--Rites held for William Burke
    Funeral services for William A. Burke, 94, a resident of Morys Haven who died Dec. 23, were held Dec. 26 at St. Michael's Catholic church in Coleridge.
    A son of the deceased, the Rev. Fr. Ambrose Burke, T.O.R., of Loretto, Pa., officiated. Burial was at Randolph.
    Children surviving, in addition to Fr. Ambrose, are Paul of Omaha, Mrs. Herman (Mary) Corning of Primrose, Mrs. Bennie (Loretta) Wisnieski of Dodge Mrs. Thomas (Lucretia) Meysenburg of Genoa, and Vincent and John of Coleridge. There are 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
    Mr. Burke was born July 25, 1870, in Shelby county, Ia., to Frank and Maria Payne Burke. His early life was spent near Dunlap, Ia., and at the age of 21 he moved to Randolph, Neb.
    He was married to Annie Shoemaker Feb. 12, 1908, at O'Neill. She preceded him in death Jan. 21, 1963.
