JANSSEN--Final Rites Held - Final rites were held Friday at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran church for Theodore S. Janssen, 65, who died last Dec. 26 at the Immanuel Lutheran hospital in Omaha. The Rev. R.L. Ochs officated, and burial was made in St. John's cemetery. Pallbearers were: Paul and Albert Theilen, Arthur and Ernest Hellbusch, Arnold and Clarence Janssen.

KENT--Funeral Services Friday For James A. Kent
    Funeral services for James A. Kent, 86, will be held Friday at 9 a.m. at St. Bonaventure Catholic church, with the Rev. Roch Hettinger officiating. Burial will be made in the Catholic cemetery here.
    Mr. Kent, a resident of Columbus more than 40 years, died about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday at his home, 2109 Seventeenth street, following a short illness.
    The body will lie in state at the Gass funeral home from 11 a.m. Thursday till the hour of the services. Rosary will be prayed there at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
    Mr. Kent was born April 16, 1864, at Muskegon, Mich., the son of Sam and Mary Doyle Kent. While a small boy he came to Nebraska with his parents and he lived at Norfolk and Madison for many years before coming to Columbus in 1907.
    His marriage to Mary Halpin took place Oct. 29, 1891, in St. Patrick's church, Battle Creek.
    He worked as a Union Pacific carpenter for about 32 years before his retirement, and prior to that had been a farmer and cattle raiser.
    Mr. Kent was an honorary member of the Union Pacific Old Timbers.
    Survivors are: his widow; three daughters, Mrs. Gladys K. Wikstrom of Ogden, Utah, Mrs. Elsie Kiernan of Redding, Cal., and Mrs. Celia Madison of Omaha; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a brother, Sam Kent, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Kost, both of Norfolk.
    He was preceded in death by two sons, Stephen and Robert, and two daughters, JoAnn and Gertrude.

JEZ--Mrs. Andrew Jez Dies Here, Rites On Saturday
    Mrs. Andrew Jez, Duncan, died about 2 a.m. today at St. Mary's hospital where she had been a patient for the past two weeks. She was about 85 years old and has been ill for the past six months.
    Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Stanislaus Catholic church, Duncan, with the Rev. George S. Mikulski officiating. Burial will be made in the parish cemetery.
    The body will lie in state at the McKown funeral home from 4 p.m. Friday till the hour of the services. Rosary will be prayed there at 8 p.m. Friday.
    Mrs. Jez, nee Anna B. Dush, was born about 1865 in Tarnov, Poland. She was the daughter of Andrew and Mary Dush. She came to America at the age of eight, and her family resided at Omaha for some time.
    She was married to Andrew Jez in Omaha in 1887, and most of their married life was spent at Duncan and Clarks.
    She was a member of St. Stanislaus church, Duncan, and the Sacred Heart society in Clarks.
    Survivors are her husband; two brothers, John and Joe of Duncan, and one sister, Mrs. George Fleece of Columbus. Mrs. Dewayne Fox, whom they reared from childhood, resided at Englewood, Colo.
    Mrs. Jez was preceded in death by three sisters: Frances, Sister Stella and Sister Hildabertha.

KENT--Services Held - Funeral services were held Friday at 9 a.m. in St. Bonaventure Catholic church, for James A. Kent, 86, who died Tuesday morning at his home here. Burial was made in the Catholic cemetery. Pallbearers were: Fred Gerber, J.B. Tschudy, William Schwantje, Otto Merz, John Branigan and Michael Scharwith. Out-of-town relatives attending the funeral included: Mrs. Agnes Kost, Samuel Kent, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Kent, Mr. and Mrs. John Kent and son, Robert, Mr. and Mrs. James Kent, Mrs. Richard Miller, Mr. and Mrs. George Kent, all of Norfolk; Mrs. Delia Lauver and son, Donald of Battle Creek; Mr. and Mrs. Adam Alt of Lincoln; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Jackson of Hoskins; Michael Halpin of Winside; Mrs. Gladys Wikstrom of Ogden, Utah; Mrs. Celia Madison and son, Kent, of Omaha.

JEZ--Funeral Rites Held - Funeral rites were held at 8:30 a.m. today at St. Stanislaus Catholic church, Duncan, for Mrs. Andrew Jez, 82, of Duncan, who died Thursday at St. Mary's hospital. The Rev. Fr. George Mikulski, pastor, officiated at the requiem high mass and burial was made in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were: Andrew and Pete Urkoski, jr., Silver Creek; John Urkoski and John Dush, jr., Columbus; Ben and Joe Dush, jr., of Duncan. Relatives and friends attending the funeral were from: Englewood, Colo., Clarks, Silver Creek, Genoa, Duncan and Columbus.

KOZIOL--Dies of Heart Attack - Mrs. Joseph Koziol, 1722 Sixth street, died this noon of a heart attack. She was 47 years old. The body has been taken to the Gahan funeral home, and obituary and funeral arrnagements will appear in Tuesday's Telegram.

JANDA--Clarkson Man Dies - Charles Janda of Clarkson died Saturday evening at St. Mary's hospital. The body had been taken to Clarkson for services.

KAVA--Dies in Omaha - Mrs. Charles Kava, formerly Helen Jarecki of Columbus, died this morning in St. Joseph's hospital, Omaha. Funeral arrangements are pending.

KOZIOL--Mrs. Joseph Koziol Dies; Services On Thursday
    Final rites for Mrs. Joseph Koziol, 48, who died of a heart attack Monday noon, will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony's Catholic church. The Rev. Fr. Chester Cymanski will officiate and burial will be made in the Catholic cemetery.
    The body will lie in state at the Gahan funeral home from noon Wednesday till 3 p.m. when it will be taken to the family residence, 1722 Sixth street, there to lie in state until the services. Members of St. Theresa's sodality will pray the rosary at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the home, and relatives and friends will recite the rosary at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
    Mrs. Koziol, nee Clara Krzycki, was born Sept. 7, 1902 in Merrick county. While a child she moved with her parents, Paul and Catherine Gembica Krzycki, to Sherman county and she attended schools there.
    Her marriage to Joseph Koziol took place Nov. 3, 1925 in SS. Peter and Paul church, Krakow, and since that time they made their home in this vicinity. The family has lived in Columbus since 1939.
    A member of St. Anthony's church, Mrs. Koziol was also a member of St. Theresa's sodality and the local American Legion Auxiliary.
    She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Sister M. Marcella of Lincoln, and Evelyn at home; four sons, Leonard of Omaha; Albin in the navy, now stationed in Alaska; Benny and Alfred at home; two grandchildren; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Krzycki of Columbus; one sister, Mrs. Martin Borowiak of Silver Creek; four brothers, Louis of Omaha, Phillip of Genoa, Charles and Leo of Columbus.
    Mrs. Koziol was preceded in death by two chidren who died in infancy, and one sister.

KAVA--Funeral Thursday - Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Stanislaus church, Omaha, for Mrs. Charles Kava who died Tuesday morning in St. Joseph's hospital in Omaha. Mrs. Kava was the former Helen Jarecki of Columbus.

KOZIOL--Services Held - Funeral services for Mrs. Joseph Koziol, 48, who died of a heart attack Monday noon, were held at 9 a.m. today in St. Anthony's Catholic church. The Rev. Committal services are pending the arrival of Mrs. Koziol's son, Albin Koziol, USN, from Alaska.

KINNAN--Miss Dollie Kinnan Dies Today in Lincoln Hospital
    Miss Dollie Kinnan, 68, long-time resident of Columbus, died early this morning in a Lincoln hospital. She had been under medical treatment there for the past eight weeks.
    A resident of Columbus for the past 45 years, Miss Kinnan was a member of the local Daughters of Union Veterans. She was also a member of the United Brethren church Shelby.
    Miss Kinnan was born Dec. 23, 1882, in Polk county near Shelby.
    She is survived by: three sisters, M. Alberta Kinnan, Jessie A. Kinnan and Mrs. Alice Ellsworth, all of Columbus; one brother Joseph R. Kinnan of Forest Grove, Ore., as well as several nieces and nephews.
    The body is at the Wadlow mortuary, Lincoln, and will be brought to the Gass funeral home here. Funeral arrangements are pending.

KINNAN--Funeral Services For Dollie Kinnan Held Saturday
    Funeral services for Miss Dollie Kinnan, 68, whose death occurred in a Lincoln hospital last Wednesday, were conducted by the Rev. Franklin Wales at the Federated church at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
    Mrs. Jerome Schroeder and Mrs. Elmer Miessler sang "Lead Kindly Light" and "Rock of Ages." Mrs. Ted Haldiman was at the organ.
    The bearers were Eugene Tredway, F.A. Pickens, Wilken Umland, Wallace and Willis McMeekin and LeRoy Poeffel. The body was committed to the family mausoleum in Columbus cemetery.
    A daguther of the late Joseph and Martha Jane Kinnan, early residents of Polk county, she was born at Shelby, Dec. 23, 1882. She attended the public schools there and finished at Midland college. She also took geological and geophysical work at the University of Oklahoma. In later years she and her sister, Miss Jessie Kinnan, acquired oil and gas leases on a large acreage of land.
    In 1907 she and her sister, Jessie, moved with their mother to Columbus, and continued to reside at 2820 Eighteenth street throughout the years after their mother's death.
    Miss Kinnan traced her family history back to the English crown of the mid-fifteenth century period, being a descendant of the Warwick line. She possessed the mural crown as the family escutcheon.
    She was a charter member of the Columbus chapter of Daughters of Union Veterans.
    Her hobby was travel, and she traveled extensively. She and her sister, Jessie, spent the last three winters in Hawaii, and had planned to go there this winter but she became ill last fall.
    She leaves three sisters, Jessie Kinnan, Mrs. Alice Kinnan Ellsworth, and Mrs Alberta Kinnan Groves, all of Columbus; one brother, Joseph R. Kinnan of Forest Grove, Ore.; seven nephews, Kelly Kinnan of Lingle, Wyo, Francis Ellsworth of Lincoln, Wayne Kinnan of Shelby, who were here to attend the funeral, Maurice Kinnan of Forest Grove, Ore., A.B. Kinnan of Cody, Wyo.; D.S. Kinnan of Ranier, Ore; and Glen Ellsworth of San Diego; two nieces, Mrs. Hortense Christian of Denver and Mrs. Hazel Watson of Boston; and three great-nieces and great-nephews.

JORDAN--Services Held - Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Bonaventure Catholic church for Louis J. Jordan, jr., 29, Polk county farmer, who was killed in an auto-truck accident early Wednesday morning. The Rev. Fr. Martin Wolter officiated at the services, the burial was made in the Catholic cemetery here. Pallbearers were: Leonard and Lawrence Stachura, Ted Micek, Martin Valasek, Alfred Nitsch and Clarence Bernt. Many relatives and friends from Madison, Duncan, Shelby, Bellwood, Humphrey, Osceola, Silver Creek and Rising City attended the funeral.

KINZER--Mrs. Mary Kinzer Dies; Funeral Services Sunday
    Mrs. Mary Ellen Kinzer, 79, of Kearney died this morning at St. Mary's hospital following a week's illness.
    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the McKown funeral chapel, followed by burial in Roselawn Memorial park. The Rev. A.L. Embree, pastor of the Methodist church, will officiate at the rites. The body will lie in state at the McKown chapel from Saturday noon till the time of the services.
    Mrs. Kinzer, long-time resident of Albion, was the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Miranda Brown Kesterson. She was born Jan. 23, 1872 at Malvern, Ia., and moved with her family to Albion while she was a small girl. She received her education in the Albion schools.
    She was married to Hugh Kinzer about 1886 and they made their home near Albion. Mr. Kinzer preceded her in death 10 years ago and two years later she moved to Kearney where she resided until her last illness.
    Mrs. Kinzer was a Methodist, a member of the W.C.T.U., and the American Legion Auxiliary. While living at Albion she had been affiliated with the Royal Neighbors.
    Survivors are: one son, Leo of Columbus; a daughter, Mrs. Elmer Killham of Central City; 26 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs Will Cummings of Albion, Mrs. Fanny Cline and Mrs. Fred Hamlin of Kearney; four brothers, Louis Kesterson of Albion, John of San Fernando, Cal., Will and Sam of Chico, Cal.
    Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Charles, one grandchild, a sister and a brother.

KINZER--Funeral Services Held Sunday For Mrs. Mary Kinzer
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the McKown funeral chapel for Mrs. Mary Kinzer, 79, who died Thursday at St. Mary's hopsital. The Rev. A.L. Embree officiated and burial was made in Roselawn Memorial park.
    At the services, Miss Ruth Herr sang, "Tell Mother I'll Be There," and Rock of Ages," with Mrs. Arol Sipes accompanying.
    Pallbearers were: Cpl. Hartzel Kinzer of Algonac, Mich., Ernest Killham of Fullerton, Homer Killham of Grand Island, Martin McCorrell of Hordville, Charles Kinzer of Duncan and Beloit Kinzer of Columbus, all grandsons of the deceased.

KRZYCKI--Father Krzycki Dies in Missouri
    The Rev. Fr. Krzycki, brother of Phil Krzycki of Columbus, died Friday at Washington, Mo. Funeral services will be held there Tuesday.
    Father Krzycki, who resided here as a boy, served as a priest at Tarnov, Omaha and Cleveland, O. He was formerly a provincial of the Franciscan order.

KAVICH--Mrs. Tillie Kavich Dies Today; Last Rites On Sunday
    Mrs. Tillie Kavich, 85, passed away at 8 a.m. today at her home in Columbus after an illness of several months.
    Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Jewish Funeral home in Omaha, with Rabbi Meyer Kripke in charge. Burial will be made at Fischer's Farm cemetery.
    She was born in 1866 in Poland, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Abrabam RutKovitz, and came to the United States about 66 years ago.
    The body will be taken from the Gass Funeral Home to Omaha at _:30 p.m. today.
    She resided at Fremont, where she married Sam Kavich in 1887. The couple came to Columbus about 60 years ago to make their home.
    She was a devout member of the Jewish faith.
    Survivors include eight children, Abe Kavich of San Francisco, Mrs. _arl Lesser of Los Angeles, Mrs. _la Bordy of Omaha, Mrs. Morris _ervin of Fairbury, and Ann, Al and Phil Kavich and Jean Klein, all of Columbus.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in March, 1948, and her parents.

KRZYCKI--Funeral Services Held Tuesday For Rev. Fr. Krzycki
    Funeral services for the Rev. Fr. Wenceslaus Krzycki, O.F.M., were held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Francis Borgia church, Washington, Mo., and interment was made in the church cemetery.
    Fr. Wenceslaus, 72, passed away on Good Friday, Mar. 23, at the St. Francis hospital in Washington, having completed the life of a successful pastor and an important personage in the Franciscan Order.
    The fourth son of John and Barbara Krzycki, he was born at Duncan, on July 13, 1878, and received the name of John at his baptism in Columbus. He was one of a family of 13 children.
    After completion of grammar school in Duncan, he completed the regular course of studies in the Franicscan Order at Teutopolis and Quincy, Ill., and St. Louis, and was ordained to the priesthood in St. Louis on July 5, 1904.
    His first assignment was that of assistant pastor of St. Francis Xavier parish in Superior, Wis. In April, 1906 he was made pastor of Immaculate Conception parish in Omaha. He served as pastor of various parishes, with the exception of two years as assistant at St. Stanislaus in Cleveland.
    In 1933 he became a member of the Provincial Council. He completed one term of three years as Definitor, was twice elected Custos, and completed his second term of office as Minister Provincial.
    On May 25, 1948, St. Anthony's in St. Louis was the scene of the golden jubilee celebration of the Very Rev. Fr. Provincial Wenceslaus Krzycki, O.F.M. This celebration commemorated his entrance into the Franciscan Order at Teutopolis, Ill., on July 23, 1898.
    He is survived by three brothers, Frank of Elba, Antion [sic] J. of Omaha, and Philip of Columbus; four sisters, Mrs. Saloma Lassek of Columbus; Ven. Sr. Seraphia, O.S.F., of Lincoln, Mrs. Anna Jaworski and Mrs. Theodora Stolinski of Omaha.

KAUFMAN--Sister Dies - Mrs. William E. Kaufman of Fremont, sister of Mrs. Z.H. Loomis, died in the hospital at Fremont early this morning. She had suffered a second stroke of apoplexy Monday. Mr. Kaufman and Mrs. Loomis were at her bedside when death came. Funeral services wil be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Bader funeral home, Fremont.

GANSER--Dies in Norfolk - Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kohlund have received word that their brother-in-law, William Ganser, died this morning in a Norfolk hospital. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Norfolk, and burial will be made at Madison.

JOHNSON--Dies Suddenly - Arthur H. Johnson, 63, died suddenly this morning at his farm home at Dix. Tentative arrangements have been made for funeral services at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bonaventure Catholic church. McKown funeral home has charge of the arrangements.

JOHNSON--Funeral Services Tuesday for Arthur H. Johnson
    Funeral services for Arthur H. Johnson, 63, prominent wheat rancher, will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Bonaventure Catholic church with the Rev. Fr. Martin Wolter officiating. Burial will be made in the Catholic cemetery.
    The body will lie in state at the McKown funeral home from 11 a.m. Sunday to 3 p.m. when it will be taken to the family residence, 2215 Fifteenth street, there to lie in state till the services. Relatives and friends will pray the rosary there at 8 p.m. Monday.
    Mr. Johnson, resident of Columbus for many years, died suddenly of a heart attack Friday morning at his wheat ranch at Dix. He had been under the doctor's care for the past two years for high blood pressure, but in spite of this he personally supervised details of his business operations until his sudden death.
    Before being entrained for Columbus, his body had lain in state at Kimball a short while Friday afternoon and friends there prayed the rosary during that time.
    Born in Platte county on Nov. 26, 1887, Mr. Johnson was one of 13 children born to Thomas H. and Mary Fleming Johnson. He received his early education in the Platte county rural schools and St. Francis academy in Columbus, later attending the Columbus Business college.
    He learned the business of farming and stock-raising, and after his father's death in 1913, managed the Johnson farm in Columbus township.
    He was united in marriage to Minnie Dischner on Jan. 18, 1921 at St. Bonaventure Catholic church, and they had a family of seven children.
    Mr. Johnson had extensive land holdings in western Nebraska, near Dix, and for the past 30 years spent his summers there, doing wheat farming on a large scale.
    A member of St. Bonaventure church, he had formerly held membership in the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name society. He was affiliated with the Eagles lodge, and politically, Mr. Johnson was associated with the democratic party.
    He is survived by his widow; seven children, Arthur J. of Norristown, Pa., Mrs. William (Alice) Vorce of Denver, James F. of the U.S. naval training center at San Diego, Mrs. Vernetta Foote, Everett L., Marilyn and Jack, all of Columbus; and three grandchildren.
    Other immediate survivors are his four sisters and six brothers: Mrs. R.J. (Grace) Riley of Minneapolis; Mrs. Sam (Lillian) Kluck of St. Louis, Mo.; Mrs. H.R. (Agnes) Gunerman of Atlantic, Ia.; Frank O. of Pueblo, Colo.; Edward of Omaha; John T., Phil, Mike, Joe and Miss Nellie Johnson, all of Columbus. His parents, one brother, Hugh, and a sister, Mary, preceded him in death.

JOHNSON--Last Rites For Arthur H. Johnson Held Tuesday
    Funeral services for Arthur H. Johnson, 63, prominent wheat rancher, were held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bonavenutre Catholic church followed by burial in the Catholic cemetery. The Rev. Fr. Martin Wolter officiated.
    Pallbearers were: Frank Dietz, William Henggeler, William Trofholz, Paul Scharff, Louis Rodehorst and Joe Cerny. Acting as honorary pallbearers were: Ed Krohn, W.H. Luckey, Edward F. Lusche, Gus Meyer, Frank Jaaz and Andrew Wiater.

KENT--Mrs. Kent Dies - Mrs. Mary F. Kent of Columbus, died at 8 a.m. today in Ogden, Utah. She was the widow of the late James A. Kent, who died here Jan. 9, 1951. Her body will arrive in Columbus Sunday and funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Bonaventure Catholic church with burial in the Catholic cemetery. KENT--Last Rites for Mrs. Mary Kent On Tuesday
    Fneal services for Mrs. Mary Frances Kent, 78, resident of Columbus for many years, will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Bonaventure Catholic church with burial in the Catholic cemetery. The Rev. Fr. Roch Hettinger, pastor, will officiate.
    The body lies in state at the Gass funeral home and will be there till the hour of the services. Rosary will be prayed there at 8 p.m. today.
    Mrs. Kent, widow of the late James A. Kent, died Friday at a hospital in Ogden, Utah, following a lingering illness.
    She was born Jan. 8, 1873 in Illinois, the daughter of Michael and Mary O'Conner Halpin. During her early years she moved with her parents to Battle Creek, Neb., where she lived until her marriage to James A. Kent on Oct. 29, 1891 at St. Patrick's Catholic church in Battle Creek. They farmed in Madison county until 1907 when they moved to Columbus. Mr. Kent passed away on Jan. 9 of this year.
    Mrs. Kent was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic church.
    She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Gladys K. Wikstrom of Ogden, Utah, Mrs. Elsie K. Kierman of Redding, Cal., and Mrs. Celia K. Madison of Omaha; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Delia Lauver of Battle Creek, and Mrs. Katherine Schramm of Alameda, Cal.; and two brothers, James Halpin of Hawthorne, Cal., and Michael Halpin of Winside.
    Her husband, two sons, Stephen and Robert Kent, and two daughters, JoAnn and Mrs. Gertrude Pilcher, preceded her in death.

DIEDERICH--Judy May, three month old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Diederich of Columbus, passed away Monday, June 28 at the Children's Memorial hospital in Omaha. Funeral services were held at 3 P.M. Wednesday at St. Bonaventure's Catholic church in Columbus with Rev. Father Martin Wolter officiating. Interment was in the parish cemetery. STROTHER--Mrs. R. G. Strother passed away in Los Angeles. She was 74 years of age. The remains were returned to Omaha where funeral services were held Sunday, May 27. Interment was in Mount Hope Cemetery. She is survived by her daughter Helen of Los Angeles, who returned to Omaha for the service.

KOHLER--Dies in Chadron - George Kohler, former Columbus resident and a veteran of the Spanish-American war, died at his home in Chadron on Memorial day and funeral services were held there last Saturday, according to word received by relatives and friends here. Mr. Kohler, who was about 73 years of age, had been in failing health the last three years. Prior to moving to Chadron about 30 years ago, he was a contracor [sic] here for some time and also served as a mechanic in local garages. He established his own garage business in Chadron, in which his sons, Fred and Phil, became associated with him. When his health began to fail, he retired from his firm and his sons have continued to operate the business. Surviving him are Mrs. Kohler and their two sons at Chadron, and three brothers, Ed and Henry of Schuyler and Fred in Grand Island.

KENNEDY--Last Rites Here Friday For Mrs. Thomas Kennedy
    Mrs. Thomas Kennedy, 26, the former Norma Mae Spitz, died about 6:10 p.m. Tuesday at the Methodist hospital in Omaha. She had been ill during the past year.
    Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Gass funeral chapel and at 2 p.m. from Immanuel Lutheran church. The Rev. A.H. Guettler will officiate and burial will be made in Roselawn Memorial park.
    The body will lie in state at the Gass funeral home from 11 a.m. Thursday till the time of the funeral services.
    Mrs. Kennedy, born Aug. 1, 1925 in Polk county, was the daughter of Theodore John and Emma Michaelson Spitz. She attended grade school at Genoa, and was graduated from Kramer high school, Columbus. Later she worked for some time at the Grand Island Army Air Field.
    Her marriage to Thomas Kennedy took place Nov. 10, 1945 at Ft. Worth, Tex., and they made their home in that state for five years before returning to Columbus more than a year ago.
    Surviving Mrs. Kennedy are her husband; four-year-old son, Dan Lee; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore John Spitz of Columbus; one brother, Clarence, of Sargent; three sisters, Mrs. Emogine Case of Chicago, and Geraldine and Patricia, of Columbus; and her paternal grandmother Mrs. Theodore Spitz of Polk county.

JONES--Last Rites Held Tuesday For Mrs. Barclay Jones
    Funeral services for Mrs. Barclay Jones, 76, former Columbus resident, were held Tuesday at the Congregational church in Genoa.
    Mrs. Jones, a resident of Spalding, died last Friday at the Genoa hospital.
    Nee Ida Cedar, she taught three years in the Genoa Indian school before her marriage to Mr. Jones on Feb. 20, 1901 at the home of her cousin, Christopher Frohm of Columbus. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last February.
    Since their marriage they lived at Council Bluffs, Ia., Columbus, Loup City and Spalding. Mr. Jones was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad till his retirement in 1927 at Spalding.
    He is a brother of William B. Jones of Columbus, and an uncle of Edd Kelly and Mrs. Robert Stillinger, sr., also of this city.
    Those from Columbus who attended the funeral were: William B.     Graveside services were conducted by Harmony Chapter No. 13, Order of Eastern Star, (Columbus) of which Mrs. Jones was a former member.

JENKINSON--Young Monroe Woman Dies
    Miss Miriam DeLena Jenkinson, 26, horse owner and trainer from Monroe, died early Sunday morning at Sparta, Ill., where she had undergone surgery.
    Funeral services will be held here at 2 p.m. Thursday from the Gass Funeral chapel, with the Rev. Doyle Hays of Monroe officating. Burial will be made in the Friends cemetery at Monroe. The body will lie in state at the Gass chapel upon arrival Wednesday from Illinois.
    Miss Jenkinson, daughter of William J. and Elizabeth Hall Jenkinson, was born Sept. 10, 1925 in Genoa. She was graduated from Monroe high school in 1942.
    She was a member of the Horsemen's Benevolence association.
    Survivors are: her father, William Jenkinson of Monroe; her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Jenkinson of Grand Island; four sisters, Mrs. Louise Beers of Grand Island, Mrs. Dancel Clark of Litchfield, Mrs. W.A. Yarberry and Miss Lillian of Monroe; two nieces and three nephews.

KASTER--Mrs. Kaster Dies, Funeral Services On Monday
    Mrs. Margaret Kaster, 86, died, about 7:30 p.m. Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Thiele, after a lingering illness of two years. She had made her home with her daughter since last May, and was bedfast the past three months.
    Funeral services will be held Monday morning at St. Bonaventure Catholic church, with the Requiem High Mass at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be made in the Catholic cemetery here.
    The body will lie in state at the McKown Funeral home Sunday from 10 a.m. till 1:30 p.m. when it will be taken to the William Thiele home east of Columbus. Rosary will be prayed there at 7:30 p.m. by members of St. Anne's society and at 8 p.m. by relatives and friends.
    Born in Trier, Germany on Aug. 25, 1865, Mrs. Kaster was the daughter of Wilibrord and Wilhelmina Shaney. At the age of 18 she came to the United States and settled in Rockford, Ia.
    Her marriage to Peter Kaster took place Aug. 20, 1889, after which they farmed near Charles City, Ia., until 1914 when they moved to a farm near Clearwater, Neb. In 1927 they retired and moved to Columbus.
    Following the death of Mr. Kaster on Jan. 21, 1933, Mrs. Kaster continued to reside in this city for four years, after which she spent some time with her sons, Peter and Wilbert Kaster, at Clearwater. In 1937 she made her home in Elgin where she resided until two years ago when her health failed. During her illness she lived at the homes of her children.
    A member of St. Bonaventure Catholic church, she was also a member of St. Anne's society.
    Surviving Mrs. Kaster are: one daughter, Mrs. William Thiele of Columbus; four sons, John, Peter and Wilbert of Clearwater, and Matthew of Casselton, N.D.; 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
    Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Joseph, who died at the age of 12; one daughter, Barbara, a twin, who died in infancy; and two grandchildren.

GILMORE--Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Gass Funeral chapel for Frank Gilmore, sr., 66, of Lincoln, who died early Tuesday morning at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Martys, following a brief illness.
    Mr. Gilmore, a former Columbus resident, and his wife had been visiting here at the time of his death.
    The Rev. A. L. Embree, pastor of the Methodist church, will officiate at the funeral services and burial will be made in the Columbus cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Gass chapel till the time of the services.
    Mr. Gilmore, resident of Lincoln for the past 16 years, retired Nov. 19 of this year after 34 years service with the C.B. & Q. Railroad. Before moving to Lincoln he had resided in Columbus for about 16 years.
    Born in Friend July 8, 1885, he was the son of Joseph and Sarah Flannery Gilmore. He attended schools in Friend.
    His marriage to Anna Belle Mars took place Nov. 14 1906 at her home near Monroe, and for some years they lived at Monroe.
    He was a member of the Methodist church and was affiliated with the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.
    Survivors are: his widow; two sons, Marlow of Omaha and Frank, jr., of Norton, Kans.; two daughters, Mrs. George (Helen) Brannen of Greeley and Mrs. Louis (Hazel) Martys of Columbus; 11 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Thomas W. Blackmore of Provost, Alberta, Canada; his step mother, Mrs. Maud Gilmore of Friend; two half-brothers, Tom Gilmore of Denver and Dell of Lincoln; three half-sisters, Miss Ruth of Scottsbluff, Mrs. Carrie Woods of St. Joseph, Mo., and Mrs. Ethel Bardin of Fremont.     Mrs. Krumei, a life-long Columbus resident, was born here April 28, 1895, daughter of the late Frederick and Mary Gerber Rufenacht. She received her education in the local schools.
    On June 18, 1918 she was united in marriage to John Krumei, and he preceded her in death in February, 1948.
    At one time Mrs. Krumei was a member of the Swiss Verein.
    She is survived by two brothers, Walter Rufenacht of Lodgepole, and Werner Rufenacht of Courtland, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Elsie Lowery of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Emma Bowling and Mrs. Martha Bruning, both of Lincoln; also many nieces and nephews.

JOHANNES--Paul Johannes Dies Suddenly; Rites Thursday
    Paul Edward Johannes, 65, of Long Beach, Calif., died suddenly in Columbus Tuesday afternoon.
    Mr. Johannes apparently collapsed about 2:45 p.m. while out walking on Fourteenth street, between Twenty-ninth and Thirtieth avenues.
    He was rushed to Lutheran hospital by the first aid unit of the Columbus fire department, but was dead upon arrival.
    Mr. Johannes was here with his wife, visiting relatives. He was a former Columbus businessman who moved to California some years ago.
    Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Gass Funeral Home, with the Rev. A.H. Guettler officiating. The body will be taken back to Long Beach for burial.
    A daughter, Helen Johannes, was to arrive by plane today from Takoma Park, Md. A son, Edward, resides in Long Beach.

JOHANNES--Funeral Services Held Today For Paul Johannes
    The funeral of Paul Ernest Johannes, 65, who passed away Tuesday afternoon in Columbus, was held today at Long Beach, Calif. A brief service was held Thursday morning at the Gass Funeral Home in Columbus, with the Rev. A.H. Guettler officiating.
    Mr. Johannes was born May 12, 1886, on a Platte county farm 12 miles north of Columbus, the son of the late Henry and Maria Johannes. He grew to manhood in that vicinity, and received his education in rural and parochial schools and a business college.
    He was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran church, and was a devout lifelong member of the Lutheran church.
    In 1910, he was united in marriage to Nellie Deninger at Christ Lutheran church, and to this union were born two children. The family resided in Columbus, where Mr. Johannes was associated in business with William Krumland, until selling out and moving to Omaha. In 1915 they moved to California, where he was in the finance business.
    He is survived by his wife, Nellie; a son, Edward, of Long Beach; a daughter, Helen, of Takoma Park, Md.; three sister[s], Louise and Josephine Johannes, Columbus, and Mrs. Minnie Barjenbruch, Leigh; and four grandchildren, Norman, Judy, Wayne and Jimmie Johannes, all of Long Beach.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, William and John, and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Kumpf and Mrs. Gecina Lindeman.
