Amos & Elizabeth Sheets Clark

Amos and Elizabeth Sheets Clark were both born in Ohio about 1823-25.

They were married 23 November 1843 in Warren Co., Indiana and later migrated to Livingston Co., Illinois (1860 Fed census).

Amos Clark served in Company G of the 129th infantry Regiment of the Illinois Volunteers.  After the Civil War, in 1865, they moved to Grant Precinct, Washington Co., Nebraska (1870 Fed census).

Shortly thereafter, they moved to Auburn, Nemaha Co., Nebraska (family story). After a couple of years in Auburn, they moved to Davis, Jackson Co., Kansas (1880 Fed census). They were in Jackson Co. a very short time and moved back Auburn, Nemaha Co., NE. 

Amos Clark is listed in the Nebraska State Gazetteer farmers Directory for 1890-91 J.M. Wolfe & Co., Publishers, 1890. And he is listed as a member of Sheridan Lodge of the GAR in Auburn, NE.

Amos Clark (d. 8 Jan 1893) and is buried in Row 13, Sec 1, Lot 138, Sheridan cemetery Auburn, Nemaha Co., NE.

The Civil War pension affidavit of widow Elizabeth Clark was signed by Wilson and Mahala Shrouf on her behalf. The affidavit was signed on 26 Dec. 1895 in Auburn, NE.

Elizabeth Sheets Clark (d. 13 Dec 1902) and is buried next to Amos Clark in Row 13, Sec 1, Lot 138.

Their son, George W. Clark, is buried in this same cemetery with his wife, Nancy J. Clark, and their daughter Stella May Clark.

Some children of Amos and Elizabeth Clark moved to Holt Co., MO, where they died.
