By The Colfax County Press
Colfax County, Nebraska

The Colfax County Press publishes a weekly column entitled Peeking into the Past, which is comprised of articles taken from earlier Colfax County Press files, written by Helen C. Evans. A special thank you to the Colfax County Press for allowing me to reprint those articles! The following are selections from that column:

October 30, 1906 - reprinted April 14, 1982

John Blotz and Anton Karel have pipes laid connectjng their residences with the city waterworks. There are now some 30 families using city water.

James Koci and wife, living south of town, are rejoicing over the birth of a baby girl at their home.

Frank Fajman has purchased the residence property in the east part of town owned by Mrs. Jos. Hajek of Omaha. Price paid was $1,215.00. Folda and Mundil handled the transaction.

Folda and Mundil report the sale of the Joseph Podany farm of 80 acres to Alois Kadlec of Howells. The place, the former Will McInerney farm, brought $85.00 per acre.
