ONDRACEK, CHARLES JAMES [November 27, 1881 - April 13, 1957]
CHARLES J. ONDRACEK
    Charles J. Ondracek, 75, retired Colfax County farmer, died at his home in Schuyler, Saturday, April 13. He was seriously ill only a short time.
    A native of Czechoslovakia, Mr. Ondracek was born Nov. 27, 1881. He came to the United States in 1904, and farmed in the vicinity north of Rogers until 1948, when he and his wife moved to Schuyler. His widow is the former Elizabeth Vafek.
    Other survivors include four sons, Joseph of Howells, John of Dodge, Charles of Basin, Wyo., MSgt. Laddie, who is stationed at Abilene, Tex.; six daughters, the Mmes. Blanche Radek; Georgia Paskach, Julie Volenec, Marie Sorenson and Elsie Hall, all of Omaha, and Mildred Kracl of North Bend; 27 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Stanley of Schuyler, Rudolph of Norfolk and John of Etna, Ohio, and two sisters, Mrs. John Machacek of Schuyler and Mrs. Anna Vychta of Czechoslovakia.
    Mr. Ondracek was a member of ZCBJ and Woodmen of America.
    The Rev. John H. Patterson officiated at funeral rites Tuesday afternoon at Svoboda Funeral Home. Burial was in Schuyler Cemetery.
    Pallbearers were K.J. Fokda, John Krca, Frank J. Kopecky, Martin Fral, Louis Vondra and James Fichtl.

MACHACEK, JOHN [August 13, 1870 - July 23, 1957]
JOHN MACHACEK DIES; FUNERAL AT CHAPEL SATURDAY MORNING
    Funeral service for John Machacek, 86, longtime Colfax County farmer, will be Saturday morning at Svoboda Funeral Home.
    The Rev. John H. Patterson will officiate at the 10 a.m. rites. Burial will be in Schuyler Cemetery.
    Serving as pallbearers will be Joseph C. Schmid, John Krivohlavek, K. J. Folda, W.B. Sadilek, Stanley Lapacek and Stanley Ondracek.
    A son of Joseph and Anna Rousar Machacek, Joh Machacek was born Aug. 13, 1870 in Czechoslovakia. The family came to the United States when he was about seven years of age.
    On Feb. 24, 1908, Mr. Machacek and Antonia Ondracek were married in Schuyler. They farmed northwest of Schuyler in Shell Creek community until 1928, when they moved to a farm north of Schuyler.
    Besides his widow he is survived by two sons, Alden, at home and John of Ashland; four daughters, Tony, Mrs. William Urban of Butler County, Wylma, Mrs. Claire Lanning, and Olga, Mrs. Donald Gilbert of Ashland, and Sylvia, Mrs. Robert Houfek of Colfax County; five grandchildren and a brother Ludwig of Colfax County.
