SEMERAD, AGNES (MARSOUN) [August 8, 1888 - November 22, 1969]
DEATH OF MRS. AGNES SEMERAD
    Death on Saturday, Nov. 22 claimed the life of a former long-time Tabor locality resident, Mrs. Agnes Semerad, 81, who passed away at Parkview Nursing Home in Dodge where she had been residing for over 2 years.
    A prayer service at the Humlicek Funeral Home in Dodge preceded the Monday 10 a.m. requiem Mass at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, said by Francis Oborny. Interment was in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at Tabor. Sunday rosary prayers were at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m.
    Agnes Marsoun, daughter of Karel and Frantiska Marsoun, was born Aug. 8, 1888, in Czechoslovakia. At the age of 15 she came alone to Colfax County Nebraska where she assisted at farm homes in the Howells-Dodge area. She and Anton Semerad were married at Dodge on Oct. 31, 1905. After their marriage they labored in the Tabor community, now the home of son, Edward and family. Following Mr. Semerad's death on Aug. 28, 1937, Mrs. Semerad continued to reside on the farm until moving to Dodge in 1946. She entered the nursing home in Dodge when her health failed after a hip fracture suffered in 1967.
    Mrs. Semerad was a member of St. Wenceslaus Church and the parish Guild.
    Survivors include the son, Edward, and a daughter, Mrs. John (Elsie) Ondracek, both of Dodge; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 2 sisters, Anna, and Emily Fialkova, both of Czechoslovakia. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters, all of Czechoslovakia, and 2 daughters, Blanche Semerad age 18 in 1925, and Mrs. James (Tillie) Dostal, Howells on March 11, 1967.
