Agnes(Kozicek)Reisdorff 1904-1980

Mrs. Earl Reisdorff funeral services conducted April 30

Funeral services for Mrs. Earl (Agnes W.) Reisdorff, 75, David City, were conducted Wednesday morning, April 30, from St. Mary's Catholic Church.  Mrs. Reisdorff died Monday, April 23, at St. Joseph's Villa following a heart attack.  Rev. Clarence Reisdorff, Rev. Frank Dvorak and Msgr. A. J. Lisko concelebrated the Mass Of Resurrection. Mrs. Ray Vanis was the organist. Members of St. Mary's PCCW attended in a body.   Pallbearers were Larry Pokorny, Robert Kocian, Dan Reisdorff, Jim Kozisek, Leroy Fiala, and Alfred Moravec. Burial was in St Mary's Cemetery.  Out of town relatives and friends attending the services were from Columbus, Lincoln, Omaha, Dwight, Bee, Bellwood, Seward and O'Neill.  Agnes Reisdorff, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Kastner) Kozisek, was born May 28, 1904, at Bruno. She attended school at Bruno and Dwight.  On Feb.10, 1931, she was united in marriage to Earl Reisdorff at Dwight Assumption Catholic Church. Three children were born to this union.  She was a lifelong resident of the Butler County community, where she and her husband were engaged in farming until their retirement.  She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.   She is survived by her husband, Earl; a son, Joseph Reisdorff of David City; a daughter, Clara Dvorak of Dodge; two brothers, Alois Kozisek of Brainard and Frank Kozisek of Bee; five sisters, Helen Timms of David City.  Clara Oborny of Seward. Rose Moravec of Lincoln, Phyllis Kocian of Dwight and Evelyn Fiala of Bee; and seven grandchildren.  Preceding her in death were her parents; one sister, Mary Pokorny; one brother, Ernest Kozisek; and one son, Bernard, who died in infancy.

Anthony Reisdorf Services Conducted Here Friday Morning

Funeral services for Anthony Fredrick Reisdorf of Lincoln were conducted Friday morning, Sept. 6, from St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City.  Mr. Reisdorf died Wednesday, Sept. 4, at the Veterans Hospital in Lincoln.  The Mass of Christian Burial was concelebrated by. Rev. Clarence Reisdorff, Msgr. A. J. Lisko, Rev. Dennis Hunt and Msgr. Dennis Barry of Lincoln.  Mrs. Ray Vanis was the organist. Pallbearers were Clarence Birkel, Gerald Birkel, Don Birkel, Leonard Hilger, Jim Reisdorff and Larry Pokorny. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, with graveside military services conferred by members of the David City American Legion and V.F.W. Posts.  Relatives attending from out of state were Carolyn Ramos and Ron Reisdorf of Houston, Texas.  The son of John J. and Caroline (Schlentz) Reisdorff, Anthony Fredrick Reisdorf was born May 29, 1917, at Bellwood. He attended school at Marietta.  On Dec. 21, 1949, he was united in marriage to Lucy Nell Bridges in West Virginia. Three children were born to this union.   A retired non-commissioned officer of the Air Force, he retired on Aug. 31, 1962, with 20 years of active military service. He began his military career with the regular Army on July 10, 1941, and served until Aug.26, 1945. He enlisted in the Air Force on Sept.17, 1946. He served overseas tours in Honolulu, the Asiatic-Pacific Theater, the Middle Eastern Theater and Japan .During his service he earned the following awards and decorations: Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Clasp with four loops; American Defense Service Medal with two Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters; American Campaign Medal: World War II Victory Medal; Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, four Bronze Service Stars with Arrowhead; National Defense Service Medal; Air Force Longevity Service, Award Ribbon with four Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters; Korean Service Medal; Philippine Liberation Ribbon; United Nations Service Medal; and the Presidential Unit Citation. On his retirement, he was stationed with Headquarters Air Force Special Weapons Center in the Directorate of Nuclear Safety at Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M.  After retirement, he lived in Albuquerque, N.M., 21 years. The last five years he had lived in Lincoln.  He was a member of the Catholic Church, the Elks Lodge, the Fraternal Order Of Eagles and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.   Survivors include his wife, Lucy Nell Bridges; two sons, Carroll John of South America and Ron Reisdorf of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Carolyn Ramos of Albuquerque; N.M.; three brothers, Earl and Harry Reisdorff of David City, and Father Clarence Reisdorff of Seward; two sisters, Mrs. Cyril (Lucille) Birkel of Bellwood and Martha Reisdorff of Seward; and two grandchildren, Alyce and Brandon Ramos.  His parents preceded him in death.

Ben N. Reisdorff, farmer, insurance agent, auctioneer dies following heart attack Funeral services for Ben N. Reisdorff of David City were conducted Monday morning, Sept. 9. from St. Mary's Catholic church. Mr. Reisdorff, 81, died Friday morning, Sept. 8, at the Butler County Hospital following a heart attack suffered at St. Mary's Church earlier in the day.  Msgr. A. J. Lisko celebrated the Mass of Christian Burial. Father Gerald Vap furnished the music. Knights of Columbus members attended in a body.  Pallbearers were Tim Lyons of Grand Island, Dave Dehner, Nathan Reisdorff and Randy Weiche of Lincoln, John Miller of Exeter and John Seeger of Milwaukee, Wis. Burial was in St. Mary's and St. Peter's Cemetery at Bellwood.  Ben N. Reisdorff. the son of Peter N. and Katherine Smith Reisdorff, was born Jan. 31, 1904, in Butler County. He attended school at Marietta.   He was married to Caroline Meysenburg on Jan.24, 1933. at Presentation Parish. Seven children were born to this union.  The family lived five miles north of David City in the Marietta vicinity known as Luxemburg, where he was engaged in farming and was a breeder of purebred hogs. They moved to David City in 1956.  At the time of his. death he was employed at the Knott Funeral Home and also was an agent for the Central State Indemnity of Omaha. He was a member of St. Mary's Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a former member of the Butler County Board of Supervisors and Butler County Fair Board, served on the Savannah Township board, was a former member of the board of Bellwood Farmers Coop Grain Co., Vision-17, and the Butler County Association for Retarded Citizens. He had been an insurance agent for Bankers Life and was an auctioneer. He was a member of Aquinas Booster Club and was a staunch supporter of St. Mary's Grade School and Aquinas High School because he was a firm believer in Catholic education.   He is survived by two sons, Dan and Bob Reisdorff of Lincoln; four daughters, Mrs. Roy (Dolores) Lyons of Friend. Mrs. John (Barb) Dehner of David City.  Marita Zwick of Greendale. Wis., and Patricia Reisdorff of Omaha; one brother. Jack Reisdorff of David City, three sisters, Mrs. Frank (Rena) Schinzel of Lexington, Mary Reisdorff of David City, and Mrs. Henry (Margaret) Mannleim of Hillsboro. Ore.; 17 grandchildren and four great-grand-children.  His parents, wife. Caroline. and a son, Richard Leon, preceded him in death.

Caroline Mary (Meysenburg) Reisdorff 1910-1980

Mrs. Ben (Caroline) Reisdorff Services Held Saturday

Funeral services for Mrs. Ben N. (Caroline M. Meysenburg) Reisdorff, 70, of David City, were conducted Saturday morning, Nov. 15, from St. Mary's Catholic Church, David City. Mrs. Reisdorff died Nov. 12 at the Butler County Hospital following a four month illness.   Msgr. A. J. Lisko was celebrant of the Mass of Resurrection. Father Gerald Vap furnished the liturgy music. A family offering of individual roses by her children and offertory gifts presented by her grandchildren took place during offertory time.   Members of St. Mary's PCCW and Catholic Daughters attended in a body Pallbearers were Don Meysenburg, Bruce Meysenburg, Mike Meysenburg, Jim Johnson, Dave Dehner and Tim Lyons. Burial was in St Mary's and St. Peter's Cemetery, Bellwood.  Attending the service were relatives and friends from Columbus, Seward, Sidney, Lexington, Overton, North Platte, Omaha, Lincoln, Friend, Exeter, Fairbury, Kearney, Schuyler, and neighboring towns in Butler County and Emporia and Salina, Kans., Des Moines, Ia., Milwaukee, Wis., and Alton, Ill.  Caroline M. Reisdorff, the daughter of Henry J. and Amalia (Krones) Meysenburg was born Jan 24, 1910, at David City. She attended school at St. Mary's, David City, and Marietta, Bellwood.  On Jan. 24, 1933, she was united in marriage to Ben N. Reisdorff at Presentation Parish, Bellwood. Seven children were born to this union.   She spent her entire life in the David City community. She was employed by Schweser's a Clothing Store and Novacek's Department Store.  She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Mary's P.C.C.W St. Mary's Guild and the Catholic Daughters, and belonged to the Association for Retarded Citizens, Butler County.  She is survived by her husband, Ben N. Reisdorff; two sons, Daniel and Robert Reisdorff of Lincoln; four daughters, Dolores Lyons of Friend, Barbara Dehner of David City, Marita Zwick of West Allis, Wis., and Patricia Reisdorff of Omaha; two brothers, Bernard Meysenburg of David City and Henry Meysenburg a of Sidney; four sisters, Sister Loyola Meysenburg of Alton, Ill., Anna Rose Johnson of Omaha, Sister Clarice Meysenburg of Rockford, Ill., and Sister Agnes Meysenburg of Milwaukee, Wis., 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  Her parents; a son, Richard Leon; and two brothers, Carl Anthony and Joseph B. Meysenburg, preceded her in death.

John J. Reisdorff 1875-1960

Funeral Services For J. J. Reisdorff

Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic Church on June 18, for John J. Reisdorff, 85, who died at the David City. Hospital, June 15. He had. been in failing health for the past two years.  The Rev. Clarence P. Reisdorff celebrated the Solemn high Mass and was assisted by. the Rev. Charles Kelliher and the Rev. Michael Danko. Music was by the priests choir.  Serving as pallbearers were Joseph and John Reisdorff, Donald and Gerald Birkel, Lester Hilger and Evan Drozda.  Burial was in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery David City.  Mr. Reisdorff, son of John and Mary (Hastert) Reisdorff, was born in Chicago, Ill., April 2, 1875. He came to Butler County with his parents when he was a small child. He attended a rural school near David City and Fremont Business College. He was a member of the Catholic Church.  On Feb.10, 1904, he was united in marriage to Caroline A. Schlentz at St. Mary's Catholic Church. They lived on a farm six miles north of David City from the time of their marriage until their retirement in 1939 when they moved to David City. Six children were born to the couple.  Mr. Reisdorff is survived by his wife, Caroline; his children, Earl, Harry and Martha Reisdorff, all of David City, Mrs. Cyril (Lucille) Birkel of Bellwood, Father Clarence P. Reisdorff of York, and Anthony of Albuquerque, N. Mex.; two brothers, Jake, Omaha and Pete C. Reisdorff, David City; two sisters,. Mrs. Victor (Mary) Hilger, David City, and Mrs. Joe (Margaret) Drozda; Lincoln; and 12 grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Nick and Joe and two sister, Mrs. Mike Birkel and Mrs. Neil Murphey.   Relatives and friends attending the services from away were from Omaha, Lincoln, Hebron, Shelby, Columbus, Schuyler, and Silver Creek.

RICHARD LEON REISDORFF 1940-1942

Richard Leon Reisdorff, little son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Reisdorff, was born on March 23, 1940 in David. City and passed away on February 4th, 1942 in St. Elizabeth hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska, following a short illness.  His parents and three sisters, Dolores, Barbara Jean and Marita, survive.  The funeral services were held from the Presentation Church at Luxemburg on Friday, February 6, at 9.30 o'clock with Father Cooper conducting the services. The church choir gave the music and burial was made in the Luxemburg cemetery. The casket bearers were Kenneth Schmit, Gerald DeWispelare, Jerome Meysemburg and Donald Morbach.  Those attending the funeral from elsewhere were Jack Reisdorff of Gothenburg,  Mrs. Frank Johnson and daughter, Connie, of Omaha, Mr. Walter Smith of Plattsmouth Miss Eva Smith of Otoe, Mrs. Anna Schlentz, Mrs. Ferdinand Thiele and Mr. Henry Morris of Elgin, Nebr.

Funeral Services Held Monday, Jan. 7, For Mrs. Margaret J. Remakel

Mrs. Margaret J. Remakel, 84, died at. her. home in David City Friday, Jan. 4, after a lingering Illness.  Funeral services were conducted Monday morning Jan. 7. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City with So1emn High Mass. The Rev. Rudolph Kluthe of Crofton officiated. The Rev. Mr. Jas. Meysenburg served as deacon and the Rev. Clarence Reisdorff was sub-deacon. Other members of the clergy in the sanctuary were Msgr. A. J.. Lisko, Mrs. F. G. Mock of Beatrice, Msgr. F. E Cooper of Wahoo The Rev. D. E. Cooper of Wahoo, The Rev. Charles Kelliher was master of ceremonies and delivered the sermon. Msgr. Lisko presided at the graveside services.  Music was by St. Mary's grade school choir.  Members of P.C.C.W. of St. Mary's and Christian Mothers of Presentation attended the services in a. body. Relatives present were from Beemer, Omaha, Lincoln, Beatrice, Holdrege, Wahoo, Dwight, and Bellwood and Wilmot, Minn., Denver, Col., Pass Christian, Miss.; and Rock Island, Ill.  Serving as pallbearers were Marcel Remakel, Art Remakel, Wilfred Phillips, Don Peters Bernard Meysenburg and Robert Kreizinger. Burial. was at St. Mary's & St. Peter's cemetery, Bellwood.  Mrs. Remakel, daughter of P. N. Meysenburg and Barbara Dehner Meysenburg was born Feb 15, 1878 at Bellwood. She attended school in District No. 60.  On Oct. 30, 1900, she was married to Nicholas Remakel. They raised one niece and Mrs. Remakel was active in the affairs of her church and was instrumental in organizing Christian Mothers in Presentation Parishn in Bellwood. She was also a member of the Alter Society. Mrs. Remakel lived her entire life in Butler County with homes in Bellwood and David City.  Survivors include one brother, Henry Meysenburg and one sister, Mrs. Louis Kreizinger, both of David City and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers and one sister.

Nicholas Remakel Funeral Services Held March 25

Funeral services were conducted Friday morning, March 25, at the Presentation Catholic Church for Nicholas Remakel, 80. Officiating at the rites were Fr. D. E. Cooper, Father Klutch and Father Reisdorff.  Music was furnished by Sr. Doretta. Serving as pallbearers were Marcelle Remakel, Pete C. Reisdorff, Ben Reisdorff, Paul Meysenburg, Bernard Meysenburg and Don Peters. Burial was in St Mary's and St. Peter's Cemetery.   Mr. Remakel was born March 15, 1875, at Sandweiler, Luxemburg and died March 22, 1955, at Clarkson Memorial hospital, Omaha. He came to this country in March 1893 and was married on Oct. 30, 1900 at St Mary's church in David City.  He was a farmer by occupation and made his home on a farm north of David City for many years.  Surviving him are his wife, a brother, Jacob Remakel of Wilmont, Minn., and a sister, Marie Remakel of Luxemburg. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.   Members of the Holy Name Society, to which Mr. Remakel belonged, attended the funeral in a body. Others from out of town who attended the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Remakel and Mrs. Art Remakel of Wilmont, Minn., Mrs. Don Chukker of Worthington, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Marcelle Remakel and Mrs. James Dubben of Albert Lea, Minn., Mrs. Hank Meysenburg and Mrs. Mary Egging of Sidney, Mr. and Mrs. John Moes and son of Kearney, Mrs. Frank Johnson of Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. Lambert Zoucha and son, James and Mrs. Jake Zoucha of Clarks, Francis Meysenburg of Stanton, Mrs. John Reiter of Holdrege and Mrs. Sylvester Zwiener of Pleasanton.
