I am helping a friend, Trishann (Weiss) Zdroik, search for her birth family. She was born July 26, 1966 in Jamestown, NorthDakota, and her adoption was handled through Lutheran Social Services in Fargo and finalized in Wisconsin. Her birth mother was about 16 and her birth father was about 21 at the time, and one or both may have been of Norweigan descent. Trish believes that her given name at birth may have been Tanya or Tonja. Her adoptive parents are Herbert and Charlene Weiss of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. One of Trish's two sons was born with a rare genetic disorder, "situs inversus-cilia disconesia," and she and her husband need 'to learn more about her medical history. ; They would be grateful for ANY tips about maternity homes which existed in or near Jamestown in the 1960's, how to access local hospital and court records, etc. You can reach her through my e-mail (halltuck@coredcs.com) or contact her directly: Trishann (Weiss) Zdroik, 10144 State Road 66, Rosholt, Wisconsin 54473 715-677-4039 Thank you, Sarah Hall halltuck@coredcs.com

I seek info on Severt Benjamin DAHLE (1891-1951) & family. He operated a restaurant in Courtenay, ND for several years. Severt was born in Hayfield, Dodge Co., MN to parents Lars W. & Inga Dahle (emigrants from Vik, Sogn, Norway), and during the period 1928-1944 he resided in St.Paul, MN. Consequently, he ran his restaurant and resided in Courtenay prior to 1928 and/or after 1944 until his death in 1951. Severt was buried in the Evanger Church/Cemetery, Sargeant, Mower Co., MN where he had been baptized/confirmed.. It is conceivable that his OBITUARY appeared in a local newspaper in/near Courtenay, ND in addition to the one that appeared in Hayfield Herald. His DOD was August 5th 1951 (in Courtenay, ND?). Severt B. DAHLE married Emma CLIFTON of Maddock, ND and they had one son Sherman Ardean DAHLE who survived his father. In 1951 he was an instructor at a business college at Honolulu, HI. Thanks in advance. --------- My e-mail address: vimfosse@online.no Sincerely, Viggo M. Fosse

Hi, I am seeking information on an Isabel or Isabelle JOHNSON EDDY who was born in MN and who married a Paul EDDY. According to family obituaries, Isabel(le) & Paul EDDY resided in Jamestown, ND in 1954 when her brother, Emery A. Johnson passed away in Warren, MN and in 1957 when another family member passed away. I believe that Paul EDDY passed away in 1984, but I am not sure that this Paul Eddy is Isabel(le)'s husband or not. Right now I do not have a birth date for Isabel (Isabelle) JOHNSON EDDY, but she was likely born sometime after 1905 in either St. Cloud or Alexandria MN. Her parents were Charles & Sophia Johnson who were both born in Sweden. Her father's parents were Jonas & Anna Sofia (Engman) Johnson who emigrated with a daughter, Emma AHLQUIST, from Sweden to St. Paul, Minnesota in 1902 when they were 69 and 70 years old. If anyone knows anything about this EDDY family, I would very much appreciate hearing from them. My email address is: jmayer@qconline.com Thank you. Best Regards, J. Mayer

Helen Hitchcock Wed 14 Jul 2004
Researching Bridget (Brigid) Walsh (Welsh, Welch) who emigrated from Ireland in about 1866 when she was 16. Her obituary says she was from County Cork. She married Patrick Hayes when she got to this county, so the story goes. They were burned out of Chicago in the Great Fire, moved to Madison, WI where Patrick, a skilled carpenter, worked on the new capitol building, and then on to Medina, where Patrick was the station master for the NPRR. Patrick died in 1882 or 1883 in a snow plow accident and his widow with 6 surviving children opened her house as a boarding house for railroad workers. My great grandfather, Anthony James Hill from England, stayed at her home while he worked on the railroad and stayed to marry her and father her children; and to add my grandfather, Frederick James Hill in 1887. Bridget died in 1915, the first funeral in the new Catholic Church and A.J. died in 1917. They are buried in Jamestown Cemetery. Any connections? Thanks so much. I am looking for my Grandfather's DUNLOP cousins. They lived in Stutsman County and then branched out. He used to visit them in the Jamestown area. I remember him saying they went to their farm. I think one of his Dunlop cousins was in the war? Cecil or John? The branch was from Ayrshire, Scotland. Bowman Gibson Dunlop (b. 1861 Dreghorn, Scotland) came over and married Grace Pendray (about 1894) and they had Tom (b. 1895), Jean, Clarence, Millicent, John (B. about 1901), Mary, Nellie (b. 1907), Hugh. I remember Dad talking about Grandpa's cousin Nellie? Some of Bowman's children and his siblings went to Washington, Minnesota and Maryland. Others went south. Last contact was a funeral for one of them in Stutsman County at a Highland Cemetary? Any leads are great. I am just filling in holes. From: "Bob Evans" To: Cc: "Bob & Joan Evans" Subject: Stutsman Query Date: Sunday, September 20, 2009 9:34 PM JANICE MARIE MOSER REICH, ELMER REICH, TROY JAMES REICH, SCOTT ALLEN REICH My name is Joan Hackney Evans. I am trying to locate JANICE MARIE MOSER REICH. I believe she was born October 30, 1940 and was originally from Jamestown, Stutsman County, North Dakota, but moved to San Leandro, California in 1958/1959 and lived with her sister, ELLEN MOSER ENGLISH (I'm not sure if the last name is correct). Janice then moved to Oakland, California where we met and rented an apartment together in 1959/1960. She was a Hair Stylist. I married Bob Evans in 1961 and she married ELMER REICH from (not sure what city) North Dakota, around the same time and had two sons, TROY JAMES REICH born July 16, 1963 and SCOTT ALLEN REICH born October 19, 1966. We kept our friendship going for many years and then lost touch with each other. From information I have obtained on the internet, it indicates that TROY JAMES REICH is living in Jamestown, North Dakota and is married to Liza Wanzik. I'm not sure if this is Janice's son. Internet information also indicates that JANICE may be remarried to an ARLEN DUANE HAAS who was from Woodworth, Stutsman County, North Dakota. If anyone has any information about any of the names mentioned above, and especially how to get in touch with JANICE MARIE MOSER REICH, I would appreciate your sending it to bojoevans@frontiernet.net. She was a very special friend and I am trying to renew our friendship. Thank you so much for any information you may be able to send to me. Joan Hackney Evans bojoevans@frontiernet.net
