Notes for NANCY ANNA GIESLER:

1.) Crawford Co., MO - Probate Court Records settling the John Giesler Sr. estate.

The estate settlement of John Giesler Sr. took from 1846 to 1854 in the Crawford Co. court at
Steelville, MO. His daughter Nancy Ann Gray is mentioned as an heir to this estate.

Notes for SARAH A.:

Howell Co., MO Deed Records - Deed BK G, pg. 166 (film #931682)

17 Nov 1873 - Sarah Ann Gray to Martin Gray - her interest in his lands for $80.00.

Oct 12, 1875 - Sarah brought proof to the Howell Co. Probate court that she was the widow of
Martin Gray and asked for $400.00 dower from Martin's estate.  The court then ordered Martin's
lands appraised and  the widow's dower set apart.

July 11, 1876 - Howell Co., MO Probate Court -  J.C.B. Dixon petitioned the court to discontinue
the administration of the estate of Martin Gray as there was no personal estate enough over that
due the widow, Sarah. He wanted all the land given to the widow (since he already purchased her
interest in those lands, his motive here is suspect.)

1880 census - no sign of the widow Sarah Gray in Howell Co. and no re-marriage in the records
for her. Believe she milked this cow dry, and moved on to fresh territory.

4.) Howell Co., Missouri - 5 March 1875 - W.H. Bacon, admin. of Martin Gray, dec'd sells his personal property at a private sale - Samuel and Sarah M. Gray are purchasers at this sale and also appear on a deed dated 30 April 1875 with Elizabeth & John Parker selling their interest in Martin's land to Alfred Mustion for $200.00.  This is curious as they had no right to do that - the estate had not been divided. So Samuel and Sarah took their half and went to Indiana.

Notes for ELIZEBETH GRAY:

Buried Evergreen Cemetery, Howell Co., MO

Her age changes over the years - in her parent's household she's born 1843, however
after shemarries she get's younger.  Worldconnect posting by Jackie
Ullom shows her b. 1839, making her much older than she ever appeared on census.

Her obit sent by Shirley Dawson states she was in Howell Co. during the
Civil War and she stayed alone while husband and brothers enlisted.
More info needed to confirm this, since we know her brothers
served in the 32nd Inf which was from Maries/Phelps Co. area.
The obit names Thomas Parker as a step-son. Descendants believe Frank and Thomas were step children and that all others are hers,
placing her marriage to John about 1863.  Further it states she raised her step children, her own and grandchildren
of deceased daughter.

Notes for JOHN PARKER:
