The Rev. Isaac Wood TALLEY, 88, died Sunday at 10 a.m. at his home on
College Street. The Rev. Talley was born March 28, 1853, in the Hoods
community in Crittenden county, the son of William Warner and Margaret
Sylvania Talley, and lived in that community until two years ago when
he moved to Providence. He was married three times, his first
marriage being to Margaret Love NEIL. Five children were born to this
union, and all of them preceded their father in death. His second
wife was Martha Frances IMBODEN. On Nov. 21, 1936, he was married to
Sarah Elizabeth WINSTEAD who survives. He became a Christian at an
early age, and was baptized into the Shady Grove Baptist church, where
he remained a member until the organization of the Tradewater Valley
Baptist church, of which he was a charter member. He entered the
ministry in his fiftieth year, and was active in the work until about
three years ago, when blindness caused him to retire. Survivors are
his wife; two brothers, John Talley of Detroit, Mich.; Gardner Talley,
Providence RFD; a sister, Mrs. Robert MORSE, Dalton; a granddaughter,
Mrs. W.Z. WOODS, Providence; a grandson, Carl Talley, Yucaipa, Calif.;
five great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m.
at the Second Baptist church, with the Rev. Porter COLE in charge,
assisted by the Rev. W.D. OAKLEY. Active pallbearers were Claude
MARTIN, Arthur HOPGOOD, Randolph WILLIAMSON, R.L. ERWIN, Tom GIVENS,
and Bailey UTLEY. Honorary pallbearers were the Rev. W.E. SIRIA, the
Rev. W.T. CRUMBAKER, and the Rev. E.G. SISK. Flower bearers were
Margery CUMMINS, Margaret WOOD, Mary Edith SEYMOUR, Merle CATES, Helen
Williamson, and Jane COLE. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery.

Auburn (Doc) TAPP, 52, who was born and reared in Webster county, died at 3:30 a.m. Monday at the home of his sister, Mrs. Boone Tapp, in Henderson. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Nancy WEBNER of Louisville; parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.J. Tapp of Henderson; three sisters, Mrs. Rosha WHITLEDGE and Mrs. Boone Tapp of Henderson, and Mrs. Curtis CURRY of Evansville; and a brother, Gordie Tapp of Tilden. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Tapp Funeral Home in Henderson, and burial was in Fairmont cemetery there.

John W. TAPP, 88, died at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the home of a son, Jess Tapp, between Sebree and Poole. Surviving besides the son are
another son, Alvie Tapp of Hanson; two daughters, Mrs. Ethel BRIDWELL and Mrs. Willie MOREHEAD of Dixon; a brother, R.L. Tapp
of Dixon; and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 this afternoon at Poole Missionary Baptist Church, with the
Rev. A.F. TUCK of Sebree and the Rev. Orville HICKEY of Poole officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery, Poole.

Mrs. Lora P. TAPP, 82, formerly of Sebree, died Friday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Mary NEUMAN, in Denver, Colo. Also surviving are six other daughters, Mrs. Bessie SCHILLINGS of Colorado Springs, Colo., Mrs. Cora DURHAM and Mrs. Mattie HARDING of Evansville, Mrs. Ruth KURTZ and Mrs. Martha JEWELL of Henderson and Mrs. Abbie MEADE of Robards; and two sons, John Tapp of Indianapolis, Ind., and Ira Tapp of Henderson. The body was returned to Sebree and funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Springfield Funeral Home, with the Rev. J.A. JOHNSON officiating. Burial was in Ashley cemetery.

Mrs. Virgie Lee TAPP, 70, wife of Robert L. Tapp, died Tuesday morning in her home in Dixon. Survivors are the husband; one son,
R.A. Tapp of Evansville; one sister, Mrs. J.B. RUSSELL, Dixon; two brothers, J.M. GIBSON and G.M. Gibson, near Dixon; one
granddaughter; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Missionary Baptist church in
Poole. Burial will be in Shady Grove cemetery, Poole. The Eastern Star will have charge of services at the grave and Masons will

William Arnold TAPP, 21, whose home was near Poole, died Monday of injuries suffered when the motorcycle he was riding ran into a turning truck in Henderson. The accident occurred at 3 p.m. and he died about three hours later in Methodist Hospital. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jonah Tapp and a 1952 graduate of Poole High School where he was a star member of the basketball team for four years. Surviving besides the parents are a sister, Mrs. V.W. WALKER, and grandmother, Mrs. Callie WILLIAMS, both of Henderson. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the General Baptist church in Poole, with the Rev. O.B. CLARK and the Rev. Wilbur COLLINS officiating. Burial was in Shade Grove cemetery, Poole.

Mrs. Belle TAYLOR, 71, died at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday at her home in
Clay, following a four months' illness. Survivors are the husband
Richard; two brothers, Guy COLE of Providence, and Jim Cole of Shady
Grove; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were at 2
p.m. this afternoon at the home in Clay, with the Rev. Nealey PEARCY
of Dixon officiating. Burial was in I.O.O.F. cemetery, Clay.

A family picnic celebrating the seventeenth birthday of David A. TAYLOR, Detroit, formerly of Slaughters, had a tragic aftermath Wednesday afternoon of last week, when the youth died in St. Rita's hospital in Lima, Ohio. He dived from a pier the previous Sunday into shallow water at Kingler's beach near Spaulding, Ohio, fracturing his neck. An autopsy showed the youth suffered several broken vertebrae and that his spinal cord had been completely severed. David, who had been visiting his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Taylor, Route 2, Lima, Ohio, was the son of Thurman Taylor, formerly of Slaughters, now living in Detroit. Surviving besides the parents are two brothers, Robert Taylor in the U.S. Navy, Thurman, jr.; a sister, Wanda Jean, at home; and the paternal grandfather, Marvin Taylor, of Slaughters. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in the Pleasant View Church of the Brethren, Detroit, the Rev. Edgar E. PETRY officiating. Burial was in the Gomer cemetery.

Frank TAYLOR, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. U.G. Taylor of St. Louis, Mo., formerly of Dixon, died Friday morning in a St. Louis hospital following a long illness. Surviving besides the parents are four brothers and five sisters. The body was brought to Tapp Funeral Home and funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday at Little Zion Church, with the Rev. E.G. SISK officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Frank Moore TAYLOR, 38, of Providence was killed almost instantly in a
head-on collision Monday evening between Dixon and Poole, on U.S. 41
near Bro's Camp. William H. (Bill) RAYBURN, 43, of Providence, who
was riding in the same car, died at 3:30 Wednesday afternoon in
Methodist Hospital in Henderson where he was taken following the
crash. The accident cast a pall of gloom over the entire community
because of the prominence of Mr. Taylor and Mr. Rayburn in civic,
fraternal, and church affairs. Both young men were probably as well
known and universally liked as any other two residents of Providence.
Mr. Taylor was a member of First Christian church and was a member of
the church board and assistant Sunday School superintendent. He
served in the navy for three years in World War II and was in combat
aboard an aircraft carrier. He was a member of the American Legion
and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He took an active part in the Masonic
lodge and Eastern Star, having served as worshipful master of Masons
and worthy patron of Eastern Star, as well as in other offices. For a
number of years he has been connected in business with his uncle, A.D.
WESTERFIELD, Gulf Refining Company distributor. Surviving are the
wife, the former, Miss Virginia PHELPS; a son, Billie Frank, 2;
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam H. Taylor, Beaver Dam; and grandmother, Mrs.
Nora SMITH, Beaver Dam. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m.
Wednesday in the home on Princeton street, with the Rev. J. Edward
CAYCE, pastor of Madisonville First Christian church, officiating,
assisted by the Rev. Fred PFISTERER, pastor of Beaver Dam Methodist
church. Burial was in I.O.O.F. cemetery in Clay, with the Masonic

George A. TAYLOR, 84, died at his home in Clay at 2:50 a.m. Saturday, following an illness of several weeks. Surviving are the
wife, Mrs. Bertha Taylor; two daughters, Mrs. J.B. HUDSON of Rochester, N.Y., and Mrs. Ecton Hudson of Detroit;
two granddaughters, Mrs. Richard EIKE of New York, N.Y., and Miss Hilda Hudson of Rochester, N.Y.; and one brother,
W. Taylor of Sturgis. Funeral servicees were conducted at Franklin Funeral Home in Clay at 2:30 Sunday afternoon by the
Rev. N.B. SIZEMORE of Sullivan. Burial was in I.O.O.F. cemetery, Clay.

Mrs. Rose TAYLOR, 63, died at 2:10 a.m. Tuesday in her home on Lake street in Providence. She had been ill for a year.
Survivors are the husband, M.G. Taylor; three daughters, Mrs. Elmer COBURN, Evansville, Mrs. Leamon RAY and Mrs. Ernest
Ray, Providence; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Lee GREEN, Blackford; and one brother, Joseph
MORGAN, East Prairie, Mo. Funeral services were held in the home at 1 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. J.R. KING of Blackford
officiating. Burial was in Lakeview cemetery, Providence.

Mrs. Nola Bell TEAGUE, 72, died at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at her home on Poplar street of a heart attack. She was a member of Providence Primitive Baptist Church. Surviving are the husband, John W. Teague; four daughters, Mrs. S.F. HOBGOOD, Providence rural route, Miss Minnie Teague, at home, Mrs. Vernis MARTIN of Repton, and Mrs. Everett KELLEY of Providence; seven grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Annie FORD of Providence; and two brothers, Ernest PARKER, Providence rural route, and John Parker, Sequel, Calif. The body is at the residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon in the Primitive Baptist Church, with Elder Gordon HEARON of Clay officiating. Burial will be in Cullen cemetery.

Miss Ocie TEAGUE, 35, died Monday at 5 p.m. at the home of her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Teague, in the Montezuma section. She had
been ill for several days with measles, but her condition did not
become critical until a short time before her death. Miss Teague had
been a member of the Primitive Baptist church here for twelve years.
Survivors are the parents, and four sisters, Miss Minnie Bell Teague,
at home, Mrs. Myrtle MARTIN, Providence, Mrs. Everett KELLY, Montezuma
section, and Mrs. Odie HOBGOOD, Norfolk, Virginia. Funeral services
were conducted at the Primitive Baptist church at 11 o'clock this
morning, with the Rev. J.D. SHAIN of Madisonville officiating. Burial

Roy H. TEAGUE, 49, former resident of Providence, died suddenly in his home in Port Gibson, Miss., Thursday morning as the result of a heart attack. Mr. Teague, who was agent for the American Express Coompany in Port Gibson, held the same position when he lived here a number of years ago. Survivors are the wife, Docia; a son, Jesse E. Teague, Madisonville; and his mother, Mrs. Ida HAMBY, St. Charles. The body was brought to Dawson Springs and funeral services were held in the Christian church there Sunday at 2 p.m. The Rev. W.S. McLEAN, pastor, officiated, and burial was in Rosedale cemetery, Dawson Springs.

Mrs. Effie TERRELL, 68, wife of William Oakley TERRELL, died suddenly Saturday night at her home on Providence Route 3, near Shady Grove. Surviving besides the husband are two sons, Robert Henry Terrell and Everett Terrell, Providence Rural Route; and a brother, Fred BROWN of Mattoon. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Tradewater Valley Baptist Church, of which she was a member. The Rev. W.E. SIRIA of Madisonville officiated, assisted by the Rev. W.T. CRUMBAKER of Madisonville. Burial was in the cemetery at Shady Grove.
