Jeremiah Warren

Jeremiah Warren was born about 1778 probably in Virginia as indicated by the 1850 census. He married Nancy, born Georgia,
maiden name unknown.  Family lore says she may have been Native American. The family consist of six children all thought to
be born in Alabama. Family was living in Frankfort, Franklin County, Alabama by 26 October 1827 when first son, John H.
Warren was born. The Warren family appears on the census records for Franklin County, Alabama 1830-1860.  Jeremiah drops
from census records after 1860 and is presumed dead by 1870.

As indicated from the following document located in Franklin County, Alabama, Jeremiah Warren may have lived for a short
time in Harrison County, Kentucky.  He does not appear on 1810 or 1820 census for Harrison County.

{Notes: transcribed from a copy of the above document and all spelling and punctuation is preserved. There are several ink
smudges on the original as noted, but the missing text can be inferred. At the time of Jeremiah's enlistment, Claysville,
Harrison Co., KY  was known as Marysville, after the wife of Benjamin Harrison. It was incorporated as Claysville, honoring
Henry Clay, in 1821. The post office was opened as Marysville in 1816 and renamed Claysville in 1821; it closed in 1817.
