RELEASED BY HABEAS CORPUS

It was ascertained a short time since, by his parents, that Wm H Taylor of Cleveland, was a soldier in Newport Barracks. On Tuesday last his friends appeared here and sued out a writ of habeas corpus, which was heard by Mayor Hawkins.

Upon hearing the evidence, young Taylor was released, the Court deciding that the United States could not claim him as a servant.
