GRADUATING CLASS ON A TRIP
Messrs. Harry McCoy, Frederick Waters, Charles Brower, Winfield Kennedy, Thos Corry and D W Lindsay, all members of the graduating class of the Cincinnati Law School, were entertained yesterday afternoon and evening by their fellow classman, Wilmot T Hissem, son of Captain Hissem, of the steamer Tacoma. The party will return to the city this morning.

Captain W T Hissem, the well known river man who commands the steamer Tacoma, is lying in a serious condition at the home of his sister, Mrs. L M DeMoss, of 617 Washington Avenue, Newport, with typhoid pneumonia. Captain Hissem was taken ill suddenly last week while visiting at Put-in-Bay, Ohio.

Good word comes from the home of Mrs. Mamie Hissem-DeMoss, of Newport Ky. sister of Clerk Wilmot T Hissem, of the Tacoma, who is confined at that residence with typhoid pneumonia. He has been in a dangerous condition. He rested well all Monday night and was much improved Tuesday morning.

CAPT. W T HISSEM DIED IN NEWPORT
The Well Known River Man Passed Away Thursday Night
He Had Been a Steamboat Man All His Live
Capt. Wilmot T Hissem, 33, one of the best known and most popular river men of this section died late Thursday night at his residence, 609 Monroe Street, Newport after a lengthy illness. He and his father, Capt. M L Hissem were the joint owners of the steamer Tacoma upon which the deceased had been a clerk.
Capt. Hissem had been identified with the river trade all his life, holding licenses both as master and pilot. He was a brother of the celebrated soloist Mrs. Mamie Hissem DeMoss, and a nephew of Senator William Jackson Hissem.
His funeral will take place Saturday afternoon at the California M E Church, of which the dead man was a devout member. Rev Riffe, the pastor, will conduct the services.

The death of Wilmot T Hissem is one of the sad events that confronts us. Right at the time of life when everything should be thebrightest his body must be laid away while his bright spirit has taken its sight to his Maker, leaving this early body Thursday night at 8:30. He will be missed by all who have river interests, as he was loved by all who came in contact with him. His beautiful and patient life (---) has surely won him his place in the heavenly circle. And may God's choicest blessing rest on those who have been left behind to mourn his loss.
The funeral service will take place today at 1 pm at his late home, 609 Monroe street, Newport. Ky. and his body taken to Beach Grove Cemetery, near California Ky.
