William and Euphemia Williams

William Williams was born in Lamington, England in 1801.  He originally came to Cincinnati where he met and married Euphemia Phillips 1837 in Cincinnati.  They lived in Newport where they operated a general store until 1853, in which year William retired from business.  He died at his home in Newport Kentucky on 1 Jan 1867. He was originally buried at the Radical Cemetery in Reading Oh, but moved to Spring Grove Cemetery 12 Sep 1871.  Euphemia Phillips was born in New York in 1803 and died 22 Dec 1889 in Bellevue. They are listed in the 1850 census in Newport; the 1860 census in Cincinnati; Euphemia is in the 1880 Bellevue Kentucky census with her daughter Flora Stewart.

William Granville Williams was educated at Hughes High School and studied law in the office of Salmon P Chase and was admitted to the bar in 1862.  He formed a partnership with John J McGrath and practiced in Evansville Indiana for a time. The partnership dissolved in 1868. Until 1885 he was a partner with Isaac M Jordan and Nathan E Jordan.

Josephine T Williams was born 26 Sep 1847 in New York City New York, daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Peckover. She and William had 6 children but only 4 survived. She died 17 Feb 1922 in Oxford Oh and was buried 20 Feb in Spring Grove Cemetery.
