LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF KATIE E. SLAYBACK DECEASED

I, Katie E. Slayback, being of sound and disposing mind and memory and mindful of the uncertainties of human life, so de hereby make, publish and declare this to be my Last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former Wills by me at any time made.

Item I. I direct that my just debts and funeral expenses be first duly paid and satisfied.

Item 2.  I give and bequeath one third of my personal property where ever it may be situated, to my beloved sister Mrs. Lena Merkel formerly Miss Lena Ditschler.

Item 3.  I give and bequeath one third of my personal property where ever it may be situated to my beloved niece Mrs. Kattie E. Hormberg, formerly Miss Katie E. Ruppiler, daughter of my deceased sister Mrs Julia Ruppiler, formerly Miss Julia Ditschler.

Item 4.  I give and bequeath one third of my personal property where ever it may be situated to my beloved niece, Mrs. Julius M. Huwe formerly Miss Julia M. Ruppiler, daughter of my deceased sister. Mrs. Julia Ruppiler, formerly Miss Julia Ditschler.

Item 5.  I hereby direct that my personal property be distributed in the manner above designated within sixty days from this date this will is probated.

Item 6.  I give and devise and bequeath my real estate which consists of a two story frame house with basement on a lot lying in the city of Newport, County of Campbell, and state of Kentucky, situated on the west side of Isabella street between Bellevue (now Fourth street) and Taylor (now Third) street, known as 342 Isabella street commencing at a point on Isabella street twenty eight  28 feet three 3 inches north of the corner of Fourth and Isabella street, and running thence northwardly on the line of Isabella street twenty seven 27 feet thence west parallel with Fourth street sixty six 66 feet thence southwardly parallel with Isabella street twenty seven 27 feet thence eastwardly parallel with Fourth street sixty six 66 to the place of beginning, being parts of lots 86, 97 and 88 in the Northern Subdivision of a lots made by Henry H. Goodman and others in the city of Newport, and state of Kentucky and being the same property conveyed by Patrick Smith and wife by deed dated 20th 1091 and recorded in deed book 77 page 484 of the records of Campbell County, at Newport to the executor of this my last Will and testament to be sold for cash at any time within period of and year from this date this will is probed.  My executors is hereby directed to distribute the proceeds of said real estate in the following manner.

One third 1/3 to my beloved sister, Mrs. Lena Merkel, formerly Miss Lena Ditschler.

One third 1/3 to my beloved niece, Mrs. Katie E. Hornberg, formerly Miss Katie E. Ruppiler, daughter of my deceased sister, Mrs. Julia Ruppiler, formerly Miss Julia Ditschler.

One third to my beloved niece Mrs. Julia M. Huwe, formerly Miss Julia Ruppiler, daughter of my deceased sister, Mrs Julia Ruppiler, formerly Miss Julia Ditschler.

Item 7.  I hereby nominate, constitute and appoint William M. Coffin, of Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky, to be the executor of this my last Will and Testament, and direct that a sufficient bond be required for him for the faithful performances of his duties.

In witness thereof, I have hereunto set my hand this 31st day of August 1908.

Signed, sealed published and declared by the said Katie E. Slayback, the testatrix above named as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of use, who at the request of said Katie E. Slayback and in her presence, and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed in our names as witnesses.

The foregoing last Will and Testament of Katie E. Slayback deceased was this day produced in open court, filed proven, established and ordered to record as the last Will and Testament of said decedent.
