Survivors of the Fifty-Third Kentucky Regiment, Civil War Veterans, met at Fourth and York sts. Newport, Tuesday evening, in honor of the fiftieth anniversary of their mustering out by Gen U S Grant.
Newport member of the regiment include George Creighton, William Woodard, Charles Solar and Joseph Sproats.

Members of the Ft Thomas Lodge of Masons will meet Friday at 2 pm at the Masonic Temple, Ft Thomas, and proceed in a body to the home of William Woodard, 53 W Villa pl Ft Thomas, where they will hold funeral services at 2:30 pm. Mr. Woodard was a member of the lodge for 30 years. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Woodard, 86, and a Civil War veteran, died Tuesday. He leaves two daughters with whom he lived.
