William Williams was born between 1774-75, possibly in Virginia, and died in 1838 near Jackson, in Cap Girardeau Co. Missouri.  His middle name might have been Wesley.  He married Elizabeth Foster 5 Jan 1799 in Campbell County, Kentucky.  Elizabeth Foster was born between 1780-1790 in North Carolina. According to their marriage record, she was the daughter of Jacob Foster Sr.  She died after the 1850 and before the 1860 census.

According to his will, William Williams and Elizabeth Foster had the following children (the order listed is the order that the children are named in his will)

         1. Isaac Smith Williams born 17 Oct 1802 in Kentucky or Mo. He died in 1858 in Cape Girardeau Co. Missouri.  He married Elizabeth Glasscock.  She was born 16 May 1801 in Missouri and died 30 Mar 1872.  Elizabeth Glascock/Glasscock
was the daughter of Charnal Henry Glascock and Mary Luckey.

2. Jacob S Williams born ___ in Mo.  He died about 1842 in Illinois "when his son was 15 years old".  He married 1-Catherine Hanley 2 Mar 1826 and 2-___ in Illinois

3. Squire Williams born ___ in Mo. No other information at this time.

4. Cynthia Ann Williams born ___ in Mo. and died ___. She married William Seely 13 May 1829.

5. Mary Elizabeth Williams born ___ in Mo. and died ___. She married James Giboney 24 Dec 1829.

6. William Wesly Williams Jr.? born about 1816 in Mo. and died ___. He married Mariah Louisa Liles 18 Feb 1840.  He was referenced as the youngest son in the will.

Related surnames-Elizabeth Foster had a sister that married Benjamin Thompson and a brother, Jacob Foster Jr. who married Rhode Rogers.  All of these families (Williams, Fosters, Thompsons and Rogers) left Kentucky and moved to Cape Girardeau County, Mo. about the same time.  The Foster family moved on the White River, Arkansas from Cape Girardeau County around 1812.
