Petty Officer 3/c William E Thoeny, son of Mr. and Mrs. William F Thoney, 124 Grant Street, Ft Thomas, spent his recent furlough visiting his parents and sister, Eleanor. Thoeny a graduate of Highlands High School, enlisted in the Sea Bees in November.
He took boot training and six weeks of advanced training with the Marines at Camp Peary Va. He is now stationed at Camp Parks, San Francisco, as an electrician's mate. Before his enlistment, Thoeny was employed at the Western Electric Co. Cincinnati. Thoeny was well known as a track star at Highlands High School and graduated in 1940.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred E Haas, of Ft Thomas, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Marilyn Fay to William Thoeny, Ft Thomas. The wedding will be performed at 8:15 am the morning of June 27 at St Therese Church, Southgate. The date coincides with the 53rd wedding anniversary of the bride elect's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Haas.

Following their wedding Saturday at St Therese Church, Southgate, Marilyn Hass and William E Thoeny will depart for a southern bridal trip and upon their return will reside in their home, Johns Hill road, Highland Heights. Miss Haas is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred E Haas, Ft Thomas and Mr. Thoeny is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William F Thoeny of Grant street, Ft Thomas.
