Ex-Fireman William Stapleton of Newport, fell from a car on the L&N Bridge and was badly hurt Saturday morning.

Ex-Fireman William Stapleton died yesterday at his home, 412 York st. Newport of a dropsical affection. He had been ill nearly a year. He was a member of the Fire Department under Mayor Biltz’s administration. He is survived by a widow and a daughter.
The former is convalescing from a severe case of typhoid fever. The decedent was a member of the Twin City Council No 9, Junior Order and they will meet tonight to make arrangements to attend the funeral tomorrow morning.
