Funeral services for William J Purser, 72, former Newport
councilman and later member of the Newport Police and Fire Commission, under the
old federal plan of government, will be held Wednesday afternoon at the
residence, 720 Overton of Newport. Purser was widely known in northern Kentucky.
He was a member of Eureka Lodge, Knights of Pythias of Newport and this organization will have charge of the funeral. A widow, one son, Willard J Purser, vocalist and superintendent of the Higgin Manufacturing Co of Newport, two daughters, Mrs. Samuel Wright of Covington and Miss Harriet Purser of Newport survive.

The funeral of William A Purser, 72, former Newport councilman whose death occurred Monday night at his home 720 Overton st. Newport, was held Wednesday afternoon with services in the late home. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
