William Frederick Pelle

William Pelle, 64, deputy sheriff of Campbell county, was found
dead in bed Monday at his home, 175 Fourth street, Silver Grove. He had been
under the care of a physician for a heart ailment for the past year. Mr. Pelle
had been a deputy sheriff since Sheriff Lee Keslar took office four years ago.
Before that he had been a deputy tax commissioner for 24 years.
He was born in Newport and had lived all his life in Campbell county. He operated a cafe in Silver Grove for 32 years until 1938. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Frances Pelle; one daughter, Evelyn of Silver Grove; five sons, William Jr. of Alexandria; Arthur of Melbourne; S Sgt. James, home on furlough after having been wounded four times while serving in the European area; Sgt. Robert, with the Army in Italy and Frank, fireman first class, stationed with the Navy in Australia; three sisters, Mrs. Agnes Youtsey, Mrs. Dora Schmidt, and Mrs. Mayme Nelsen, all of Alexandria; three brothers, Arthur of Alexandria; Louis of Newport and Charles of Eaton O. and 16 grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 pm Thursday at St Paul Evangelical and Reformed Church, Alexandria, following short services at the Erschell funeral home in Ft Thomas. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery.
