Joseph Martin will relinquish his job as Newport fireman
Saturday, following enlistment in the Quartermaster's Department s chauffeur. He
is the second Newport fireman to join the service. William O'Hara having been
drawn for the selective service army.

William O'Hara, who was a fireman with Company No 3, on West Seventh st. Newport, before he was selected for army service by Uncle Sam writes to Newport firemen that he likes army life. He states they are building new quarters at Camp Taylor, Louisville, where he is located.

Newport city commissioners Tuesday named Thomas Bridell, Clarence Baker, Edward Fick and Daniel Miller as members of the Newport Fire Department. The new firemen take places made vacant thru resignations of Joseph Martin, Raymond Bohnenkamper, William O'Hara and Charles McLaughlin, former members of the firefighters force.
