Mayor William List of Bellevue, has instructed the police to arrest boys who are shooting firecrackers and fireworks in the city limits. This order is especially directed against the boys who place ammunition on the car tracks and hold good until the third of July.

Mayor William List and citizen William Higdon are at odds now over a few inches of cement pavement and the matter will end up in the courts. In front of the Higdon property on Fairfield av. are four maple trees planted 30 years ago. When time came for the cement sidewalks to be laid, the Mayor notified Higdon to cut the trees down. Council was called and did order the tree removed.

Mayor William List of Bellevue submitted his annual message to the Board of Council last night. He recommended a change in the system of improving streets and alleys and said that Council had spent too much money for this purpose in the past. Complaints have been received from all parts of the city within the past two years relative to the poor condition of the streets and alleys.

Mayor William List of Bellevue, this morning denied news dispatches from Washington that the city asked Government aid in handling the flood situation. There are only 130 houses inundated in the entire city, most of which is high and dry. Four special policemen have been appointed to patrol the flooded district and to extend relief. The city's refugees are being well cared for, Mayor List reports.

Last rites for William List, 85, former mayor, councilman and city assessor of Bellevue, who died Tuesday at his home, 125 Hallam av. Bellevue, will be held Thursday at 2 pm at the residence. Burial will be Evergreen Cemetery. Members of the Newport Lodge of Elks will proceed in a body to the home to conduct funeral services.
