The remains of W W Helm, whose death occurred at Cullowhee NC reached Newport this morning and were taken in charge by Funeral Director Charles Smith. After being prepared for burial the body was taken to Evergreen Chapel, where the funeral services were held 3 pm. Rev R B Nelson, rector of St Paul Episcopal Church read the Episcopa service for the dead after which the body was buried in the Helm family lot in Evergreen Cemetery.
The members of the Campbell Co. bar Association and many acquaintances were present at the funeral service. The pallbearers were Thomas P Carothers, Aubrey Barbour, T C Brown, Frank Bigstaff, Will Harris, Charles Howe, Brent Spence, Taylor McDougall, Samuel Anderson, Matt Herold and Judge J T Hodge.
