Dr. Gerding of West Sixth Street, Newport, Thursday morning swore out a warrant for the arrest of Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson, who occupies part of the house in which he lives, charging her with disorderly conduct. He says she annoys his family by the manner in which she shuts her doors.

Dr. William J Gerding, 85, one of Newport's best known physicians, died Thursday at St Elizabeth Hospital after an illness of several months. Dr. Gerding, who lived at 1026 Central Avenue, had been a practicing physician in Newport for 62 years, retiring about five years ago. He formerly was president of the medical staff at St Elizabeth Hospital.

He graduated from the Ohio College of Pharmacy in 1893 and from the Ohio College of Medicine in 1897 then began his practice in Newport. He was active on the St Elizabeth staff until he reached the age of 65, when he was made a staff member emeritus. Dr. Gerding leaves his widow, Flora C to whom he was married 58 years; two daughters Mrs. Colletta Powell of Norwood and Mrs. Hyacinth McGarvey of Ft Thomas; three sons, William S of Norwood; Francis of Newport and Claude of Port Clinton O; four brothers Herbert and Raymond of Newport; Edward and Leo of Ft Thomas; a sister Mrs. Ollie Timmerman of Covington; 10 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Arrangements are in charge of the Radel Funeral Home, Newport.
