Alpha Council No 16, Daughters of America, of Mentor, raised a flag over Hickory Grove Schoolhouse with appropriate exercises. The opening address was made by Rev Brown of Peach Grove.
The flag was raised by a veteran, William Forrester, who served under the Stars and Stripes in the Civil War.
