NEWPORT
MAYOR'S COURT-Two soldiers, named William Connell and Joseph Fry,
belonging to a company stationed at the Barracks, were fined $15 each yesterday,
and sentence to ten days confinement in the City Jail, with bread and water for
diet, for entering the house of a Mr. McDannold on Columbia street, breaking up
furniture, abusing the family and raising a disturbance generally.
