William McCaffery, 175 Van Voast avenue, Bellevue, World War II
veteran, will serve as grand marshal of the annual Bellevue-Dayton Memorial Day
parade. Fran J Ketterer, Dayton, publicity director, said plans for the parade,
sponsored by the Memorial Parade Association are nearing completion.
Mr. McCaffery is president of the Fourth and Fifth Civic Social Club, Dayton, and a member of Kersten-O'Day Post Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was wounded three times while serving as a technical sergeant with the 29th Infantry in the European theater and was awarded the Purple Heart with three clusters.
