William Albershardt of 1014 Hamlet Street, Newport was struck by a Monmouth Street car at Ninth and Monmouth at 8 pm Wednesday night. He got off the car to go to his home and walked into a car that was passing in the opposite direction. He did not see the car and the motorman did not have time to stop. He was thrown violently to the ground and was picked up in an unconscious condition and later taken to Speers Hospital.

An examination showed that he had received a severe bruise and sustained severe concussion of the brain and a fractured jaw. His condition is considered serious.

William Albershardt who was injured by an electric car on Monmouth Street last week, has recovered so far as to be out of danger.
