William J Mahoney, Newport city commissioner announced Saturday his candidacy for re-election. Prior to being elected two years ago, Mr. Mahoney served four years as a member of the Newport Recreation Committee. He is a World War veteran and a member of the James Wallace Costigan Post, American Legion, the Eagles and the Catholic Order of Foresters. He resides with his mother t 215 E Fourth street.

William John Mahoney died 1 May 1964 in Highland Heights and was buried in St Stephen Cemetery.
