Parents of Coxn. Smith received official word last week that he has been missing in action in the South Pacific since Dec 17. Inducted two years ago Coxn. Smith trained at Great Lakes and went to sea 20 months ago. He formerly was employed at Wright's.

A sister, Seaman First Class Wilda Leontine Smith, WAVE, is stationed at Norfolk Va. She enlisted last June.

Coxn. Charles Douglas Smith, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles M SMith, Grants Lick Pike, Alexandria Ky. who had been reported missing since Dec 17 in the South Pacific, is now officially listed as dead, according to word received recently by the parents. He was a graduate of Campbell County High School class of 1942 and was employed at Wright's plant, Lockland, for a year prior to his induction in March 1943.

A sister, Wilda L Smith, is serving with the WAVES at Norfolk Va. having enlisted last June. Another of Coxn. Smith's four sisters, Miss Justina Smith, is a teacher at Dale School, Highland Heights.
