Licenses of the Dayton Grill, 616 Sixth avenue, Dayton, were suspended for two weeks by members of the Dayton City Council Tuesday night. Mayor Walter Pilgrim said council at its next meeting will determine if further action is necessary. The cafe was the scene of an altercation in which Councilman Andrew Haunert was struck several months ago.

Mayor Walter Pilgrim told Council members the recently purchased city dump at the foot of Walnut street has caught fire several times in the last two weeks. He said the fires may have been deliberately set. Council instructed Police Chief John Moran to attempt to apprehend anyone responsible for the fires.

Dog owners in Dayton were warned Thursday by Mayor Walter Pilgrim to watch their pets for symptoms of rabies. Mayor Pilgrim issued the warning after Francis Wrenn, 625 Third avenue, Dayton, reported he had learned his dog, which was killed recently, had rabies.

Mayor Walter G Pilgrim told council the Union Light Heat & Power Co has responded to a request for more adequate lighting at Sixth and Kenton streets, a railroad crossing. He said the railroad agreed to pay for installation of a light at the crossing if the city will pay for the electricity used.

Mayor Pilgrim said he had received reports that unsafe fireworks were being discharged in the city. He instructed police to cite to court all persons found selling or discharging illegal fireworks.
