Requiem High Mass for Corporal Walter J McGaff, Newport soldier killed in World War II, will be sung at Immaculate Conception Church at 9 am Saturday, following prayers at the Muehlenkamp funeral home, Newport at 8:30 am. Military rites will be conducted by members of the Lawler-Hanlon Post VFW at the funeral home at 8 pm Friday. Burial will be in St Joseph New Cemetery, Price Hill.

Cpl. McGaff, who was 24, was killed in Italy Nov 9, 1943, while serving with the First Armored Division. He was the holder of the Purple Heart Medal. He leaves his mother, Mrs. Mary McGaff, 9 E Third street, Newport; a brother, Thomas, Los Angeles, and four sisters, Mrs. Loretta Skelton, Los Angeles; Mrs. Dolores Ludwig, Ft Thomas; Mrs. Cecilia Dulweber, Bradenton, Fla. and Miss Charlotte McGaff at home.
