MISS RUGG IS DEAD
Funeral services for Miss Virginia Rugg, 87, all but a few months
of whose life had been spent in Newport were held Tuesday at Cincinnati
Crematory. Miss Rugg died Monday in Ashland Ky. Rev E R Overley, former pastor
of Grace M E Church, Newport, whose family Miss Rugg accompanied to Ashland
conducted the services.
Miss Rugg was well known in Newport for her literary attainments and her work in the Equal Rights Association. In recent years she had been forced to give up most of her activities because of failing eyesight. She lived at 523 York st.
