NEWPORT
MAYOR'S COURT-Valentine Oridan, who resides on McArthur street,
was arrested yesterday upon the charge of assulting his wife with a hatchet.
After undergoing an examination before the Mayor, he was fined $30 and costs and
sentenced to fifteen days solitary confinement in the city jail, with bread and
water for diet.
