PRECAUTION EXERCISED

Ever since the fever patients were brought to Ft Thomas from the various hospital throughout the South, there have been a number of people who have made statements calculated to make everybody in Cincinnati believe that the city is in danger of being infected by reason of the sick soldiers being at the fort.

Medical men laugh at the idea and until yesterday Colonel Gardner did not deem it worth while to pay any attention to the rumors that came to his ears. Yesterday he received the following postal card which caused his decision to send the appended communication the the Enquirer.

"Beware how your nurses and guards travel among the public post at Ft Thomas and this city. People are timid and they have a right to be. Fevers can spread and you know it. Heed this. USA General Hospital Ft Thomas Ky. 20 July 1898.
