Dr. Thomas S. Orr, of Alexandria, Campbell Co., Ky., was born July 27, 1848, and
is a son of Dr. John and Maria (Spilman) Orr. John Orr, a native of
Virginia, immigrated to Bracken County, Ky., when a boy, and afterward
moved to Alexandria, Campbell County, where he lived until his death,
which occurred in 1877.
The mother of our subject was born in Campbell County, and was a daughter of James Spilman, a farmer and large land owner. Dr. Thomas S. Orr was educated at Cold Springs, Campbell County, and at Danville College, where he graduated in 1866. He taught school for one year, when he began the study of medicine, and subsequently attended the Ohio Medical College, at Cincinnati, where he graduated in 1871. He first located in Newport, where he practiced two years. From there he went to Alexandria, and then to Augusta, but returned to Alexandria in 1877.
In 1887 he was united in marriage to Miss Anna White, daughter of H. Clay White, of Williamstown, Grant County. The Doctor is a Democrat in politics, and as a physician, enjoys a large practice, standing high in his profession.

Dr. Orr, of Alexandria, Ky. has left for Hot Springs Ark. to regain failing health. The doctor has been in bad health for some time past.

Dr. T S Orr, a well known physician of Alexandria, Campbell County, will be tried for lunacy on Wednesday. He was at one time wealthy and had a very large practice throughout the county. A few years ago his mind seemed to go back on him and his wealth and practice soon left him. He was one of the foremost workers in the Campbell County fair. Judge Helm and M R Lockhart will go there in the morning.
